Not even ONE County has a non-electronic system after 2018, and exactly one single "Blue" County was the last one for a decade plus up to that point.
I put Blue in quotes as the 2016 and 18 tabulated votes here were.... interesting:
Only a few pockets of deep Blue, a whole lot of purple or barely blue, and big chunks Yellow.
And one town counting all Blue even then seemed to somehow NEVER EVER have most of their heavily Green registered voters tick Green candidates or very left and green ballot items...
This former D lifetime voter watched locally and my entire State very carefully and nearly continuously during Primaries and Generals for the first time in 2015-18, and it was a very nasty wake up call.
I saw what can only be called blatant massive fraud in tabulating ballots across many high population Blue controlled Counties- far more than enough to have swung nearly every measure and most candidates results both locally and Statewide. Yes, that massive.
Then watched as even formal concerns and govt officials filings of irregularities were ignored or dismissed as not real.
Then they took away by force our last honest tabulator County with a central initial ballot sorting option.

California is a ridiculous state. I tried to sign up to vote and I'm not a democrat. The state claimed my 100 year old bungalow didn't exist and I had to travel 250 miles one way to the county courthouse if I wanted to get approved to vote. Voting isn't worth that because California is under democrat rule.

The thing to me is, if you invest and have other income outside of dividends then you will be able to live off dividends without selling. Which means you can pass that on to your kids which will give them a leg up in life. $52k dividends received in 2022.

The utilities are not the government and don’t have the authority to levy a tax based on income. They shouldn’t even know your income. We need to fight this tooth and nail.
Utilities are so heavily regulated by the government that they can't make any decision without them. The only reason the government doesn't flat-out own the utilities is to avoid civil and criminal responsibility. Same with the education system.

GP for 2022 was 9.975 Billion, a 3.3 increase over 2021. GP for 2021 was 9.639 Billion, a 7% increase from 2020! These people are making hand over fist profit margins while constantly crying that they need to increase rates.

PG and E Pacific Gas and Electric is a privately owned company, what's worse, they're guaranteed a higher than average, profit margin. The state can't mandate anything that PG and E doesn't want, so they're in on this scheme.
The state of California is run by the population of the southern half of the state and big cities are entirely democratic and socialist thinking. Any attempt to sever the state, they vote against it, any attempt by the northern half to gain back water or electricity, the south pushes higher rates and more taxes on what the northern half uses from the southern half. This is the oldest problem in California, the north is predominantly rural and conservative, the south more liberal and think taxes are great for the state. Sooner or later, their tax rates will end up at 105% of your income and the state will go broke, because no one can afford to live there any longer, the shininess of the gold is quickly tarnishing. As people leave, they'll keep raising taxes, fees, anything to feed the coffers of the liberal state wishes.
I know, I grew up there, lived there for many years, kept leaving but being in electronics, the only place to find employment. Retired, I packed up and got out of there when Newsom took office.

In Ohio, they made county ordinces to make money on septic and well inspection. Inspectors get 3 weeks of training. Most still have no idea what their looking at. I suspect California is worse.

I just had jury duty up here in Lake County. We had to watch a video, presented by the Attorney General of California. After the video, she stated "thank you for attending jury duty today, we are thankful for your supporting our Democratic ideas"!
I told the court clerk that "I should be excluded from jury duty, do to the fact that I am a Republican, that I do not support your Democratic ideologies"!
She said "you will have to take it up with the judge".
So I did, the judge replied "we'll discuss that later".

Even if by some incredible miracle Newsom was gone tomorrow, you'd see a carbon copy move to Sacramento after the election to replace him. Did you not pick up on this in Chicago? They're lowering the bills for everyone, then adding these extra charges to the upper income people. In effect, the upper income folks will subsidize the electrical bills of the lower income ones.

We had the same plan but my husband worked himself near to death and had a hemorrhagic stroke. He lost his left side and we lost everything we had worked for to hospital bills. Thank heaven he lived. Take a deep breath and get out while you can, you won't regret it. It could be a car accident, a weather accident, an attack by some insane criminal and you or your serving family will be trapped.

As a Californian who put in solar panels a year ago, I am pissed about this one. Reducing my electricity consumption will do nothing for me. Under the previous scheme, my panels would have paid off within 8 years. If this gets implemented, they never will.

My family lives in CA, parents home is paid off so they'll never move. Hubby's parent's lives there, apparently inflation doesn't affect them since they're retired doctors. We moved to TX and still visit CA often to enjoy all the yummy food. BUT will never move back to CA or invest.

California will tax you on the time you spend visiting family. It will cheaper to buy your family plane tickets and have them come to your house.

Litigating and protesting are the solution, but good luck getting the California sheep to protest. They don't like the high prices, but they're too ignorant to understand that these types of laws, cause the high prices. Many seem to think that the laws are in favor of the little guy, instead of strangling the little guy.
In short, you're stuck with this law until all the wealthy move out and the state will have no choice than to put the burden on the little guy, just like they did when they introduced the income tax. It was for the rich only, but not long after, everyone was paying it.
