    That's brilliant! I used to love building fences and, like you, laid everything out with lines all over the place. People used to tell me I was too fussy but I told them I wasn't coming back to move a fence 3" off a property line because I went with where they were pointing and then a neighbour complained. I would never have noticed the rise in the fence but, like most of us, you are acutely aware of things that didn't go exactly as planned and, like me, seem compelled to confess. I saved this video for tonight and it was well worth waiting for. Off to watch the two-way gate video now.
    Best Wishes, Brendan.

      Thanks Brendan! Yeah, I was lucky they built the house next to me and had the survey markers installed. That saved us money and ensured I stayed within my boundaries. I certainly don't want to have to move it- or forfeit my ownership. Plus, running lines only takes a short amount of time and effort and ensures everything is straight as an arrow.
      True, I do feel compelled to confess. Hopefully it will help others by showing mistakes. And I do beat myself up for such simple mistakes. That's how we get better doing certain things- by learning from mistakes- others and our own. Take care, G.

    Nice complicated build G. Whole lot of work-a-rounds but the results show the craftsmanship. $1500 + $6k labor, but as the sole crew an amazing 1 man job. Thanks for the share!

      Thanks PJ! Yeah, we got there one way or the other. My wife did help some when she could- on warmer days only right!!..lol. Take care, G.

    Well done as always. I can see why it got "post"poned. That is a lot of work but well worth it.

      Thanks Hank! I too have really never worked with it this way. Wire, plumbing, HVAC, and refrigeration is the extent of my usage. It was fun though. Take care, G.

    Any concerns about the dogs being able to work the latch on the double swing door? Work all looks very neat, straight and plum. Very nice job. None of that is a one man job - God bless you!

      There is for sure. Only the Husky mix has the opportunity to open it. The other is a squirt so she can't reach it. I hope the Husky never learns or I'll have to come up with something else. Perhaps a trip lever actuated before the handle can move. Thanks for the post, G.

    Great looking fence, G! I was curious if your husky mix had figured out that gate latch yet? They’re pretty smart dogs after all! Thanks again for showing us how it’s done!

      Thanks Garret! No, she's not figured it out yet- knock on wood! She has turned the yard into a moonscape though. Take care, G.

    Nice work, I love fencing as long as I got some one with me to do the grunt work. How long did this take you G? All the best.

      Thanks Sirus! No doubt! I must say my wife did help out some, but primarily it was a one man show. It's hard to say since things were broken up. But, as a guess (exuding tearing out the old fence, what dirt work was done prior starting the build, design, and getting materials) it probably took about 2 weeks- custom hardware and all. Take care, G.

    Here in Ohio, code is ugly side in on a fence build 😢

    • @ghostses
      @ghostses  4 года назад +1

      same in the UK, nails point towards the owner. makes sense as security thing but is butt ugly to look at UK standard aris rails and feather edge.
