      We have a place in British Columbia, Canada named Kicking Horse Pass. Google it for the story 😮. The ignorance of the tourists to not move away is astounding but like in the story about Kicking Horse Pass, the guy was lucky to survive bc he was so close to the horse when he got kicked in the chest. I dread an accident at Horse Guards, especially with small children.

    I must admit when I saw the horse backing almost into the crowd and the officer standing between it and a young child I was holding my breath that he wouldn't get hurt, he was extremely brave to step in.

    Hats off to the officer for putting himself between the back end of the horse and the tourists who didn’t have the good sense to get out of the way. The Trooper on Talisker is usually so chill, you’d think he was asleep. Not so today! Good job all around.

    Not one parent quickly put their child behind them. Astonishing. Also, no apparent understanding that a horse can kick, little awareness, no anticipation. It’s as if they feel physically unconnected to what they’re seeing, as if watching tv or their phone screens. Great video, John. Human behaviour is fascinating.

    One of the many things I admire about you, John, is how observant you are. With that many people in the yard, you were still aware of the little boy standing alone, admiring the (very handsome!) Chitsman. And then you watched to be sure he was rejoining a group of adults. On their behalf, thank you.

    Nice bit of drama there at the end. I believe it was Robert Downey Jr who said,in one of his Sherlock Holmes films, that the horse is, “….dangerous at both ends, and crafty in the middle.”. Thanks for a great video, John.

    I’ve been around horses all of my life but no way would I march up to a horse that doesn’t know me and start pawing at it’s face when I know nothing about it’s temperament or it’s tolerance levels. Horses, like people, are individuals - some like the attention others definitely don’t. I’m really surprised that more tourists don’t get bitten.
    The trooper was slowly trying to coax an obviously nervous and reluctant horse further out of the box but he was being hindered by people confusing Horse Guards for a petting zoo. It must be so frustrating for the guards and not helpful for the horse.
    A pity a police officer had to put himself in danger cos some tourists are just too gormless to get out of the way when a huge horse obviously wasn’t too happy.

    • @lynnbean7200
      @lynnbean7200 3 месяца назад

      You know because you've been around horses. Many of the people at Horse Guards would not have ever come close to a horse and would have no idea about their temperaments/behaviours unfortunately.
      Having said that, Tipper is my favourite. He's just so cool and interested in everyone but not aggro.

    • @elainebrooksbank5281
      @elainebrooksbank5281 3 месяца назад

      @@lynnbean7200 I appreciate what you’re saying but shouldn’t not knowing anything about horses make people more wary? Almost everyone has seen a dog but do they match up to a dog they don’t know and start mauling it or would they think twice about it.

    I love how the new horse only seems happy when the tourists politely ask to pat him, he seems to really enjoy the calmer kind tourists who look at him adoringly. It's definitely a sweet, fairly timid (or maybe just unsure of the crowds) horse, I think he with the Guard will be favourites.

    The MOD police officer deserves an award for bravery and quick action, pushing the people in that corner literally against the walls, when Taliska had the meltdown. He was actually in between the horse and the people, touching the horse's tail and rear end, without fearing that he could be kicked by Taliska and suffer massive injury. Wow, an extraordinary officer! 😀Tipper was his usual "sweety-pie tourist-friendly forever" self, he enjoys being petted and stroked by everyone! 😊Well, hello to Ormonde there (i think sweety Indiana was at the other end🥰🥰), "Terminator" has joined the party!🤣🤣 Hasta la vista, baby!🤣 I can actually see him in the Guns'n'Roses "You could be mine" video, that uses scenes from the movie🤣

    As others have already said hats off to the MOD officer putting himself between Talisker and the idiots in the corner who didn't have the sense to move out of the way of a horse coming towards them backwards fast !!! Give the man a stiff drink 🤗. Public safety is part of their role at Horse Guards , he went above and beyond the call of duty ! The way Talisker kept looking towards the open box doors it was inevitable , the Trooper did everything possible to reassure him , lots of rubs , and keeping him back in the box he almost made it , well done both 😘😘. The last fluffy cloppy boy in the first group of Blues with COH was gorgeous Kensington with his moustache , second group was equally fluffy and cloppy Indiana , along with Monty , ( plus Radford from Lifeguards ) my favourite boys 😍. The little boy totally enthralled by the chitsman was adorable , but as we've already had lost children there this week and his parents were on the opposite side of the courtyard , rather worrying ! Gnome convention , I'd. be avoiding that 😁. Thanks John see you in part 2 xxx o

    Thanks for noting you read the comment re: getting a full shot of the horses John 🙏, and I DO understand that sometimes it’s just not possible, due to the crush👍but thanks for the efforts😀. And I have gotta say, HOLY guacamole, that’s THE brightest safety vest I’ve EVER seen!!! And I wore one for several years! I seriously wish I lived in London so I could nip over and plant a few gnomes 🤣😇😎It just goes to show with Orion, if they stay out of his bubble, he’s FINE, but push him, and he’ll punish you!. And I WISH most tourists behaved as well as the minions do. 😅I don’t even still have pictures of myself anymore John, never mind family or friends. I still have the memories tho.
    Lovely to watch the trooper gently reassuring poor nervous Talisker, talking softly, telling him he’s a good boy, gently scratching his wither…..just what you need to do and great to see 👍👍 He’s a handsome lad too(the horse, not the trooper, tho he’s pretty too🤭). And yes, Talisker is a great name…..great whisky too 😉🤣
    Off the top of my head, Blues mounts starting with “t”…..Tabor, Thor, Tilah and Tallahassee, plus ofc Tipper and Talisker and there’s probably more 😂 Personally I think for his first duty Talisker is doing exceptionally well. That woman is one of those “I’m a horse whisperer” types. The guard is working……he isn’t there to chat to her, and she’s just rude, blocking access to the horse because she thinks she’s “special”….poor wee Talisker is just overwhelmed a bit, but very sweet natured. Those tourists are brain dead for sure. They’re lucky that Talisker wasn’t being aggressive, he just wanted out…..he was rather unlikely to kick, but still, to just stand there while the horse pushes them over is sheerest stupidity…..they were lucky that lovely MoD officer was there to act as a buffer, idiots.

Everything seemed fine until I looked further into it and it looks like it’s a scam. Thankfully I didn’t send any money but I’m so disappointed. I was sent (obviously fake) photos and videos of the dog and had really got it into my mind that he was going to be mine. Thank goodness common sense overtook my heart. I’m normally quite astute about things but when it comes to animals my heart just takes over every time. Anyway I asked for a video call where I could interact with the puppy, see the mother and speak to the seller before I send any money and the seller’s trying to fob me off so it’s not looking good. I haven’t really been watching guards’ videos, maybe a couple of the shorter ones. I’ve been watching a lot of Tarot card readers videos on the British royal family, they’re quite interesting (amusing) to watch. I definitely don’t believe them 100% and take everything they say with a pinch of salt, but some of the things their subscribers believe is absolutely astounding. I’m far from being a royalist but I feel so sorry for Charles, especially when he gets so much hatred from people who still believe all the lies Di told about him having his affair with Camilla throughout their marriage. Despite the actual truth being revealed about Di having her affair first so many people still refuse to believe she could possibly be the one at fault. It’s so sad that he hasn’t had time to actually be our monarch without having to worry about his health. Sorry, I’ve rambled on a bit here, I hope everything’s going well for you. Take care.

    This guard is a very handsome, regal looking. I have seen him if several different areas. Thank you John for introducing him to your viewers. The guards don't read these do they? I sure hope not lol!!

    It never fails when one person has a good experience, then the stupid people will mob the horse and guard. It was refreshing to see the girl ask if she could pet the horse and then thank him. It would be great if that is what they picked up on.
    To be new in the box, he acted better than some long timers. Once he is used to it, he will be awesome.❤❤❤❤
    These people must think horses are made of air and could not possibly hurt them if they kicked or stepped on them. They would be in for a rude awakening because most of the horses used are larger than your average horse and I can tell you from experience neither size feels good! They both hurt immensely depending on how you are hit or stepped on. I've been kicked so hard I was literally tossed in the air before I landed. It was my fault, he had recently lost an eye to a lightning strike and I forgot and he didnt know I was coming around behind him. I should've been touching his rump the whole time and not messing with a bridle. Lesson learned the hard way. He was a smaller than average horse, so you could imagine what a horse the size of the King's Life Guard could do.

    John you're so funny, thank you for making me laugh! Gnomes & 500 thou Frenchies!! I quite like the horses being naughty, it proves they are never cowed or "broken" harshly.. They are allowed to have their own personality! Could we have a little French coverage when you go please?

      They do it because they are rude and disrespectful. They act like they are at Disneyland. Their goal is to get the officers to laugh or break their stance. They will do anything to get it done, including being highly disrespectful.

      Wish i was able to visit london, the music celebration sounds heavenly! I played clarinet, alto sax & trumpet in high school marching band & field performance during football season here in the states, & for concert/orchestra band clarinet, sax, trumpet & oboe wherever my director needed me. School had maybe 900 students, but only 20 to 30 student musicians. I truly admire & respect the musicians who play while riding horseback during events there in uk. My first time seeing this was during one of the late queen elizabeth ii, may she rest in peace, events. I thought here in usa field performance & marching somewhat challenging between keeping step to field choreography while playing a challenge, but its nothing compared to performing while on horseback. One wrong move/moment it could be devasting for rider, horse & crowd. Truly in awe!😊😊

    Good afternoon John. Orion is definitely easy to ID with that lovely big Roman nose. You were right. 😊. Little Ticker. Hahahha. Tipper has the two white socks on the back too. Talisker is a very handsome man. I have not seen him before. I would guess he is a gelding. Hopefully he will settle down. Troopers are amazing 😊.
