- Learn how to rig eyes in Blender 2.78a. This is a very simple, but effective way of rigging up a pair of eyes. I hope you all like, and subscribe if you have not already done so.

That was *much* simpler than I was expecting.
Thanks for this tutorial. Used this technique for a video I'm working on currently. Very straightforward and to the point.
You don’t know how long I have waited for this. you nailed it bro.
ha ha ha ha....after driving my self nuts trying to create an eye rig... and you made it so simple that even I could understand it.... THank you soooo much...
Nice tut, champ. This is a quick and easy way to add eye tracking to existing rigs such as Mixamoed actors.
I'm a simmer and we got rigs for the sims as well to modify in blender. I'm trying to apply this to the sims rig, though it's a bit different, so this is gonna be fun! haha... Thank you for the tutorial, I hope it's useful for me as well. You're a good explainer
THIS HELPED ME A LOT
damped track works almost perfect compare to track to contraint. Most videos on this topic uses ''track to'' contraint, so this video help me out. Thanks a lot!
My dude this is amazing! respect for the well made tutorial :D
Thumbs Up for teaching me what Symmetrize does!
Many thx. clear and fast as we like :-)
Thanks (Respect you from Belarus)
Thanks a lot, nice tutorial, very clear and informative. Good Job.
Quick and easy, thanks !
man, you're great at explaining things, thx man.
Thank you! Excellent video.
This is a very, very, very, nice tutorial, thanks a lot!
Thanks for this! It's very clear and you're careful to point out all the steps, such as when you switch modes, that some tutorials gloss over.
Thanks for the awesome tutorial! Simple and just works. ^^
Great tutorial! Thanks!
Awesome tutorial ! It helped me so much thanks.
Thanks so much, finally i have got what i was looking for
Awesome tutorial. Thanks a heap
Amazing tutorial, thank you!!! I always wondered how people had those cool looking eye glasses bones xDDD
Thank you for this video.
Thank you very much!
excellent tutorial 👍
Tnx for this tutorial very good job man!
Thank you :D
I think eyes should track a smaller bone, so if you want your character to spot a little fly on the tip of his nose you can have proper converge behavior and you don't have parallax issues.
thank you, dear this helped me I was creating a Lego character.
The helped SOOOOO much. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!
very cool
thanks alot
I have all bones set up like you have, however when I move the controller bone, the eye moves entirely instead of sitting in place and rotating.
Imagine swinging a baseball bat vs spinning a basketball. That's how it's reacting, as if it's a bat, not a ball. Is there a way to change how it rotates the eyes?
Are you using 2.8? I'm having big problems because things work differently in the new software.
Thanks bro!!!!
ok Did all that. made a head to for a character. set the head bone to automatic weights. but now the eyes are moving with half of the head. why is that? I dont want the eyes moving with half of the head.
Great! Made something that seemed hard into an easy 13 minutes
I've used this method successfully in 2.78, but I'm having big problems in 2.8. First off, in 2.8 the eye control bones (or any other bones) must be adding through the metarig/Rigify Buttons menu: such as basic.super_copy. If you simply add bones or "shift-D", the bones will not be converted in "Generate Rig". Also, the custom bone shape should be created in a new "Collection" called "Custom Shapes" or the like, since we don't have layers in 2.8. I'm still working to solve other issues.
ANOTHER GREAT ONE!!
훌륭한 강의 잘 시청하고 갑니다.
Thank you!!! I did it ...
Hello sir, I liked it very much! Can you please explain how did you create THIS EYE??? Because, each of these two eyes is a separate SINGLE mesh that can easily be connect to armature's bone! please explain it's complete procedure... I am sure it's pretty simple, but I can't figure it out! :(
probably parented one mesh to the other, then just attached the parent to the bone, thus making them move as one
thank you so much, maybe you can share how to rig a mouth like a rig eyes
thank you so much
nice video
What is control P (parent) keep offset in Blender 2.8 plus? or what is it called now?
there is a way to merge the 2 eyes without losing the bones parent?
thanks
Thanks for the tutorial. It helped me very much. I still have one problem related to the final part... When I do the display of the "Eye controller" in the minute 11:00 my object appears turned to the side and I can't get to fix it. I've tried to rotate the bone which image i'm changing, but turning this bone around the 'Z' axis doesn't affect it a all (the other axis do)... So...Can someone please tell me the solution to this. Thanks :)
invazorzimutube probably you already fixed it, and I didn't really understood what you meant, but: in my experience to debug a rotation/loc/scale issue is helpful to
1. switch to local axis mode (rather than the more confusing Global one),
2. in armature settings enable "view axis" for its bones.
Very often differences in axis orientation between objects, armature (in object mode) and its bones (in edit/pose mode) are the key to understand glitchy behaviors. You should also check in constraint parameters (and sometimes even in constraint ORDER if you have multiple ones):
- local to world space parameters,
- pointing axes,
- tail/root of the bone you're pointing to,
- UP axes, and so on...
Proceed in order by disabling all the constraint (little eye icon) and then re-enabling one by one, checking where's the problem.
If you find a misaligned object, simply enter edit mode, rotate it to where it should be and back in object mode counter-rotate it so that it appears correctly.
I know it is tedious but you could learn many tricks to avoid errors in the future and by fixing problems you'll become more aware about blender and 3D softwares in general.
Have a nice blending! :-)
❤🎮💡 thanks a LOT!!!!!!!!
Hmmm. setting origin: neither Ctrl + Alt+Shift+C nor Cmd+ALT+Shift+C bring up a menu in Edit mode (or any other) on my Mac in v3.0
Would this work if both eyes were one object?
Can you make a video how to riging mouth !
uhm I havea a problem when I rig the eyes. I did everything ok but the eyes don't stay in their place, they move around the eyebone, please help!
Ocu Rimrim I am also facing this problem..if you find your solution..then please inform me..it will be very greatfull for me..please
I'm not sure what you mean, but I assume you mean the eyes swirl in the sockets when rotating the head bone, right? Well you can set a constraint on the MainEyeCont bone (the custom bone). Set a ROTATION CONSTRAINT on the MainEyeCont bone to the head bone and it should follow the head rotation which means the eyes stay still inside the eye sockets and only spin inside the eye socket when moving the MainBoneCont bone.
There's a problem with my eyes, I can't move them around without them going outside of the eyelids/lashes
that means your bone isnt perfectly centered, although i doubt it would matter now since this was from a year ago

Okay, okay, OKAY, OKAY?!?!!?
GRAET VIDEO!!!! THANKS!!!! REALLY HELPFUL!!!! I WOULD GIVE 50 LIKES IF I COULD! I ALSO SUBSCRIBED!
my eye rotates instead of looking up what am i doing wrong?
Christian Summers I guess try changing how it turns on the right
You should see some buttons saying
X Y Z -X -Y -Z click on one and see if it’s how you want it to turn
im using blender 2.79 /cry
I use 2.73 because my computer is 8
@@birdiuia5293 lol, that was a year ago, i use 2.82 now, and i found an easier way to rig it.
Pizza Hut not fbi *cries* WHERE IS MY WINDOWS 10 I DONT WANT THIS 8 YEAR OLD COMPUTER
This is out of date for version 2.82
I know, time moves on. Can't change that. Lol
