Awesome! Good to see there's LMBs and smallies out here. I'm new from Cali, and I also kayak fish and fly fish. In Cali, LMBs are abundant, where here it seems to be the opposite with more smallies out on these waters. I've caught smallies on the Willamette. Was going there until I learned it was toxic.

The tualatin is far more toxic than the Willamette River is

If you are just doing catch and release, I don't think you are going to come across anything toxic. A friend of mine and I, and whomever gets the third seat fish the Willamette regualrly. Fishing high up the Willamette - particularly in the arms, carries warnings; but the main Willamette (with the exception of an area in Portaland) appears safe.

Have you ever fished a ned rig in the Tualatin, or is there too much downfall debris in it?

@@timmoore9736 I've bounced some heavy jigs off the bottom with success. I'm sure a Ned rig would work great with these current hot Temps.

Super weird how you want to preserve the the super evasive super detrimental fishing Bass then you want to Bank the native fish to the river northern pike can be detrimental when there is a ton of salmon and steelhead boat on a river like the tualatin that has never really been known for much of the same in or steelhead Revere sometimes coho but that's about it I'd say the smallmouth bass do ten times worse for the population of salmon steelhead than the northern pike could ever do on the on this River you should make sure you inform your viewers correctly and not just throw your opinion without any facts behind it

ODFW has a bounty on pike minnow - and none on bass of either type - and I am inclined to think they have a fairly good handle on what causes the depredation.
