I like the stock trigger on the 22 and the 9 , nice take-up and reset, but the haters have to actually shot some rounds off, before they give their expert opinion.
You can call smith and Wesson and they will send you the plugs to cover holes where ambi safety was. I deleted my safety and just called them and they shipped the plugs to me for free
I hear about so many people bitching about the M&P but the first time I went out with mine with no mods it shot wonderfully. I may do a few things to mine for home defense purposes like a light for the rails maybe a trigger job, but I wouldn't need it to trust the gun.
I like your m&p collection. Your video made more sense than most here since you pointed out important aspects of owning, maintaining a weapon, and using it in various scenarios. Also thanks for mentioning about using correct ammo, I'll be looking into that for my first home defense pistol. Great vid guy, keep em coming! Subscribing now.
Something I noticed with your draw from the holster. You tend to pull the handgun out of the holster, then push it towards the ground alittle then swing it up. If that's your thing and it works, no problem. But maybe try a ABC movement. Idk if anyone has come up with or not. But point A being the handgun, B being the half way point, and C being the last point of movement in the draw. Move smoothly from each point. Try bringing the pistol from A to B and B being at chest little level and close to the chest. Then B to C is a strong push directly out to towards the target.
Thanks for the video! I'm a big M&P fan and have been waiting for some upgrade suggestions. I own the 9F, with the APEX trigger upgrade , and just bought the 40C, which I will do a trigger job on as well. Appreciate the TLR-3 light recommendation and will be putting that on the 9mm as it is my home defense weapon. Wasn't sure about tridium or fiber optic sights but you helped me make up my mind there too! ...Already use Hornady Critical Duty in the 9mm and Critical Defense in the 40c and any good quality, higher grain FMJ for the range.
You can request free extra backstraps from S&W (or other sources) in different colors and use a soldering iron to make the best custom grips you could ask for! Then, if you want to sell the M&P, put the original backstraps back on...
You should have the gun in a vise to check trigger pull your actually pushing with the other hand and that will make it register a bit higher.. good video ..
Good video! I was going to get a Ruger LCR to carry for my first handgun but I think I might go with the shield! Just seems more practical for EDC. The revolvers can come later! haha
RBProductions815 Wrong. Pressure is pressure, regardless what direction its applied. I wish people would test out what they say before they come on the net and look like fools.
Though i am but a mere pine cone the Miculek forest, I agree with the porting NOT being an issue ar all at night or in a dark setting. I have the ported barrel "Performance Center" model whcih is also chrome and there is no drawbacks like some say in my opinion as well. Super sensitive eyes? I can barely see it, if at all on the again, Performance Center version of the M&P 9mm which is ported with a single hole on each side of the barrel and body supporting it.
I've read before that with ammo selection as you mentioned. For home defence, you'd want a hollow point as opposed to FMJ because of "stopping power" but mainly because a JHP would tend to stay in your subject where as FMJ ball ammo could penetrate and hit a nearby innocent or family member. Do you find that to be true?
Don’t take the safety off your .22 Compact! It is a single action pistol, meaning the internal hammer is fully cocked. Not striker-fired like the center fire M&Ps. If you carry with a chambered round with no safety to engage, it would be very unsafe.
I'm a newbie and I heard grip tape doesn't hold up in the hot conditions so I ave been thinking about doing some stippling, but I heard it can be a little pricey too.
check out my glock 43 reliability test video there is talon tape on it and it worked even submerged in water, but your right eventually it will come off but if properly installed it lasts a while, 1-2 years
I think the pro grips can be changed as well or I would think they'd be since the gun comes with 3 different sizes for different sized hands,. Surely there's a company out there that makes the backstraps for these in a different kind of material or grip style, no? I haven't looked as of this post, partially because I am a little partial to the backstrap stock grip in large .
Outlaw: I just finished watching a video of a gentlemen with a 2.0 s&w 40 caliber, and he converted it to a 357 sig by changing the barrel...it was a simple swap, but does it threaten the internals of the gun by going with a hotter round?
good video.... in some cases in a concealed carry if you modify the trigger or carry your own reloads and you have to shoot somebody you could lose in a civil lawsuit because you made it easier to shoot that person...... I know it sounds crazy... anyway keep up the good videos.
duck duck goose that is why you get USCCA concealed carry insurance and not worry about it. Their attorneys specialize in concealed carry cases and that is ALL they do.
i put the Apex duty/carry enhancement kit in my .9mm and the competition enhancement kit in my M&P .9mm pro and they make a world of difference. I am awaiting my Apex gunsmith Barrel and will let you know how that upgrade is.
I am wondering about your title/tumbnail picture for this video. It looks like a custom aged finish. Is it your gun? What can you tell me about the finish?
Be careful adding accessories and modifying your firearm. You will find finding a stopping point is hard to find. I own, carry and shoot an older Glock Gen 3 Pistol I've equipped with a Wilson Barrel, an Agency Arms Metal Mag Well, an Agency Arms Metal Trigger with Zev connecting internals etc. In fact the only thing actually Glock is the Frame & Slide. Love it. While I like Talon Grip Tapes a lot, I've found that I like Foxx Grip Tapes better. All my polymer framed handguns wear Foxx Grips.
I spent 4+ years only shooting suppressed. Then 2 months ago I bought the M&P 2.0 Compact. No threaded barrel, so I’ve put 1,400 rounds through it unsuppressed and I’m not going to lie. It’s taking some time to get used to shooting again. I still put a fist size hole in the middle of the target but the , muzzle flip and blast still mess with me a little. Shooting with/without a light shouldn’t make anywhere near that kind of a difference but it will make a difference.
Shall not be Infringed, until you try some factory ammunition (either new or remanufactured) I wouldn't fault the gun. I've run plenty of reloads through mine with no trouble.
you re apply about every 6 months to a year, it gives you more traction without permanently changing your gun for only 15 dollars. I use it to help with faster follow up shots and still being able to sell the gun after I review it. How is that garbage? Because it comes off eventually? I guess ammo is garbage bc you can't shoot it twice huh? Or springs are garbage bc you have to replace them? If you are going to voice your opinion try to keep an open mind
Honest Outlaw Reviews when you pay 15 bucks too have it peel off the first month, its garbage. I shoot 500-750 rounds per week. So my openmind and opinion on grip tape is its GARBAGE.
Mine has been on a year with range visits 2-4 times a month. De-grease the grip, then heat up the griptape with a heat gun once it is applied. As the glue cools, it seems to bond to the polymer better.
Miggy A lawyer could use anything against you. Including the fact he has a youtube channel about guns. The shirts he wears. A trigger job. Aftermarket sights. And if he's an NRA member. Of course if you conceal carry for personal defense properly, you won't need a lawyer. Because you'll be justified 100% if you ever do shoot somebody.
depends on the state to though, if its a "stand your ground" state then typically youre fine in a criminal trial as long as the forensics and everything the police do. And theres a lot of things that can alter the favor to the deceased or wounded.
I love my M&P. As for the trigger, I don't mind it. It works just fine, and it's consistent.
Also, I've got small hands and the standard mag release doesn't give me any issues.
I like the stock trigger on the 22 and the 9 , nice take-up and reset, but the haters have to actually shot some rounds off,
before they give their expert opinion.
You can call smith and Wesson and they will send you the plugs to cover holes where ambi safety was. I deleted my safety and just called them and they shipped the plugs to me for free
nice I will do that
Sweet,.. so glad I caught this,..!! I Too will do that
I will second that, same here they came in a few days.
Yup, just did that. Super dope
what number should I call?
I hear about so many people bitching about the M&P but the first time I went out with mine with no mods it shot wonderfully. I may do a few things to mine for home defense purposes like a light for the rails maybe a trigger job, but I wouldn't need it to trust the gun.

My favorite gun channel on RUclips. Thanks for the video!
The Gun Nerd of Philadelphia I take it you haven't watched many gun channels lmao
Bob P Watched plenty, I just so happen to favorite this one over others.
The Gun Nerd of Philadelphia Be careful where you gather information from. This guy has his guide rod assembly in backwards.
You should have the gun in a vise to check trigger pull your actually pushing with the other hand and that will make it register a bit higher.. good video ..
Thanks for sharing M8!
Thank you for your review, you've answered all my questions.
Good video! I was going to get a Ruger LCR to carry for my first handgun but I think I might go with the shield! Just seems more practical for EDC. The revolvers can come later! haha

what was on your wrist at 11:55? some sort of screen connected to a camera on.... the firearm?
Great mods bro! I need an M&P bad! Lol
Hmmm, tungsten guide rod or use the rail for a light or laser to add weight to the front......
Beautiful set up man

You’d be amazed what you can do with a soldering iron for stippling.
Look at that pretty blue guide rod, shoot that gun! Great video
Have you heard of the Girsan Mc28 Sa t it’s supposed to be the Clone of an M&P was wondering if M&p parts and Trigger would work in it ?
good video.... in some cases in a concealed carry if you modify the trigger or carry your own reloads and you have to shoot somebody you could lose in a civil lawsuit because you made it easier to shoot that person...... I know it sounds crazy... anyway keep up the good videos.

You have a sub-1mm caliber gun? What's the grain weight, 0.25 grains?
Sunshine_Shooter
Damn, tough crowd. Lol
Didn't you have the guide rod in backwards on the top gun?
Rowen170
Yepper.
Rowen170 if he had it in backwards the gun wouldn't function
Rowen170 i
Rowen170 i
I have a m&p pro 4.25 barrel ported what trigger do you recommend thank you
Great vid!!! Where can I find the mentioned guide rid? Thanks!!!
Good video with lots of practical advice. Will you be doing a video on the new M&P 2.0? Thanks, Ray
What sights are those on the M&P with Talon grips?
Would appreciate a vid on removing the manual safety from the M&P22!
what kind of front sight do you have on the m&p in the middle ?
Got my gun this morning from expansion2 on wickr glock19 gen 5.fired this morning and it was fine
Some Great Input here thanks !!
I'm pretty sure no gun channel on RUclips likes stock triggers.
Does anyone know if the red trigger fits the 2.0. Just the trigger itself, but with the 2.0 kit.
I am wondering about your title/tumbnail picture for this video. It looks like a custom aged finish. Is it your gun? What can you tell me about the finish?
what is the actual name of that trigger from apex.so does it shorten the reach at all? It looks like it in the vid.
Looks like the DCAEK
Just curious why you "cant stress enough" to use a white light. I mean I would anyway but I'm wondering what your reasoning is?
"KNOW your target and what lies beyond it." Google #FourRules -- You don't want to shoot a neighbor, your child, etc.
On 12:03 what's the name of the gear with the watch playing the video from the gun flash light
Be careful adding accessories and modifying your firearm. You will find finding a stopping point is hard to find. Looking to get sued civil court huh?
They have a M&P 9 2.0 at gunbuyer fro $418 right now 4/24/17, almost 2 hundy off
stuna101a wrong
Ok I'll try that thanks
Hahah know a lady who shot her dog always run a light at home .
Speaking of ammo. Look into Lehigh. They are making some great ammo for personal defense.
The Apex triggers are made of aluminum. I have one on my Shield. They're fantastic.
mongothedestroyer88 they make poly too
mongothedestroyer88 not all of them
Some are polymer. I have one on my M&P.
We're are you from. It's so beautiful out there. Nice range setup btw.
thanks, it's iowa
what's a good light that is at a decent price?
smokeclouds8 Old comment I know but I have an Olight PL-2 Valkyrie on my M&P 9 and it’s fantastic.
What type of sights are on that middle M&P?
Ameri-glo
Will this for work my shield 40
will a light help reduce the recoil?
yea a little, more weight up front for muzzle flip
I spent 4+ years only shooting suppressed. Then 2 months ago I bought the M&P 2.0 Compact. No threaded barrel, so I’ve put 1,400 rounds through it unsuppressed and I’m not going to lie. Back to basics lol
Where can you get gun accessories I have the M&P 40
GOOGLE is your friend
Which APEX trigger did you get?
for ammo shootingthebull410 has extensive tests for best ammo
Do you carry the full size concealed?
no I usually carry a g43 or a cz p07
It is possible but not easy
Only complaint I have about my m&p is it doesn't like reloads constantly jams would love a fix for it
Shall not Be infringed sounds like something is wrong with your reloads
jon mcleod tried three different sources same thing
Shall not Be infringed
I'd get some Mother's Mag Wheel Polish, and polish the shit out of that feed ramp.
That may help.
Shall not be Infringed, until you try some factory ammunition (either new or remanufactured) I wouldn't fault the gun. I've run plenty of reloads through mine with no trouble.
It works fine with factory ammo just not reloads
Where can I get those magazines?
OEM mags available from many outlets: BudsGunShop, Classic Firearms, GrabAGun, GunMagWarehouse, etc.
Some toothpaste will clean the glass on your weapon lights
Almost forgot to subscribe lol
Yeah my M&P has an 8lb trigger
well that sucks, 2.0
I have tried reloads from 4 different sources same thing happened
great video, but you got some mutant thumbs,
Grip tape is garbage. If you shoot with any regularity, it comes off.

They make versions of this gun without the safety from the factory so doubtful that would ever come up.And John Doe is totally correct in his comment.

Vagina!!!! The only safety u need is ur trigger finger. Remove that tampon off ur gun if u can.
Miggy not true as these come without a safety if your willing to say something like that to a law enforcement officer well that’s on you.
Just a Glock clone and another gun I won't be owning.
Ken Parnell Then get the fuck outta here.
