- Find out how you can connect your Canon Printer to a Wi-Fi Router or a Wi-Fi network.
A great convenient way to print wireless is to have your Canon printer setup correctly to the Wi-Fi router.
Once you have setup and it and it is connected with an assigned IP, you can then start send print document to the printer from a computer, Android Phone, iPhone and etc.

but even though i set it up the printer icon is still 'grayed' out in my Device and Printers, and I cannot print, as when I do it says 'printer cannot be found'. When i plug in my USB though the grayed icon lights up again and I can print.. and everything that happened in your video successfully wen through on mine - saying connected etc. please help me and thanks? :(

Believe it or not, your tutorial is still helping people. When I got the MX530 a few years ago I followed the instructions. Like so many have expressed it was a nightmare. Finally, I got it connected to my network. Unexpectedly the printer connection was dropped. I was not looking forward to going through the setup once again. I came across your tutorial. The printer was connected in 2 minutes. It's mindboggling that Canon would not have this method printed on a "Quick Setup" guide. Thank you very, very much. You saved me from a few hours of heavy drinking. 😄

My printer won’t move on the next step which is the password, it just tries to connect. Any suggestions for that?
This tutorial was quick, easy and painless! When I first got my printer, I read the instructions, but for some reason, it seemed to difficult and impossible to connect to the internet, so I gave up. A year later, I thought I'd give it a try again. This was the first video suggested on Google, and followed all the steps and got it all right the first time! Thanks for not taking forever to explain how this works. I like short, to the point results. Thanks again! Keep up the great work!

I had not used this printer very much. It is five years old with less than 500 prints. I changed its location in the house and had to reset it. I was about to go buy a new one because I could not get it up and going again. You just saved me a couple hundred bucks. I do need new ink. But, that is a lot less expensive than a new printer. Thank you! Covid 19 brought my work home. Having the printer up and going is a real blessing.

I don't know what I would have done had you not explained how to type a number in for the passphrase. Tapping the asterisk twice worked. I already watched the Cannon video and it wasn't as helpful as your video. Thank you!
If you're not sure about any of these settings, you can call Canon support 1845-276-9007 ( US & Canada ). That’s the easiest and most general way to get help for your Canon printer.
Absolutely clear! Too many such tutorials show a screenshot of a complicated ap, with the narrator zooming a mouse around, saying go here, go there, click this, and there you go. Totally impossible to follow. This is visible, thorough, and at a pace I an absorb. Thank you.
I have an older MX410, and you need to press the Menu button to get to the device setup. I have been trying to set this wifi up for three years and have always become to frustrated and given up. Your tutorial was great! Thank you so much.

After updating Comcast equipment (that required a change of network name and password), the connection between my computer and printer got lost. When many phone calls and search through manuals on how to re-establish the connection failed to yield any results, (and I had to have the stuff printed to meet a deadline!), just as I was on the verge of getting desperate, I stumbled upon your video. May you be blessed for posting it! I mean this! My printer is a bit different from yours, but I got the gist of it and worked my way around the differences until I got it figured out. Wow! The sound of my printer chumming along was music to my ears! Thank you, thank you!

ITJungles we have a canon mx472 was working fine wireless everything was good and all of a sudden it stopped working today we turned it on and can't print from our phones we don't have a computer or the usb cable we've been at it since this morning trying to figure out what the hell is wrong with it. i watch this video and got the printer to connect to the wifi but i still have to plug in the usb to my laptop and the printer to print how do i get my printer to print over the wifi without the usb cored
You have to configure on the pc.

It is likely - unlik your computer or iphone/phone, your laptop is not connected to your wifi - right? In our home we use two signals called 2g and 5g since one is faster... My laptop wasn't working because the printer was connected to our regular use 2g while the laptop was set up for gaming and logged into our 5g signsl. I'm no "techie" but once you log in to your wifi on yoyr laptop, you should have no problems (unless you have an old printer setup as the default printer... You might have better luck using whatever Helpcenter/Wizard available to troubleshoot and connect you to your newer printer.) Best of Luck & Happy New Year!!! 😉👍

This was VERY helpful Mr. ITJungles. Without your showing this, I would have been lost and my printer would not have functioned as well. The instructions sent with the printer are crap when it comes to anything other than plugging physical items in.

Canons 4 set up ( how too's) are worthless as are all the other videos I viewed on this subject. Why did I have to come by this video only after hours of futale head numbing, confusing, others is beond me. 1.25Mil viewers are better people because of you. BRAVO.

Thank you for this. I recently had to purchase a new Apple Airport and set up a new network. I had lost the instructions for my MX432 and Canon's site was convoluted enough that I couldn't locate a PDF of the instructions to connect the printer to the new network so I was putting it off until I actually needed something printed. A Google search led me here and your instructions worked perfectly. Had things going again faster than it took me to navigate Canon's site.
This is such a helpful video. Connected a new modem and to computer and needed to do the same for printer. He makes it so easy. Worked just fine. Make sure you have your printer network name and password. He walks you through everything. Thank you so much!

My WiFi password is combined letters with numbers. Your show detailed how to switch from number to letter by changing “1” to “2” in Passphase which helped me to complete set up. You answered my question instead of Canton customer service when I called Canton and asked how to change to letter, I was told Canton MX432 was too old to have their phone service. So I found your show and I thank you so much!

OMG THANK YOU!!!! My internet provider came and changed oh excuse me (upgraded) my modem and router. I got all of our devices connected and we were doing well until I had to print some information for work and could not. I called my internet provider and they were like "everything on our end is o.k. so you need to contact the company who your printer is with". I was glad that my printer had a USB cable and I was able to print what I needed for work. I total forgot I had to change my lan settings in my printer. You are a genius.

Dude! You've saved my ass resetting this Canon printer about seven times. Everytime the power goes out it bumps the Wi-Fi connection and I have to reset it...but I forget how. A tremendous thanks to you and the patience you have in explaining in simple language how to connect wirelessly. There are people who know and understand. Thank you so much! I have two Canon PIXMA printers and they failed me often times over the past few years of use. The chances of having them working is by luck. I read numerous articles and learned to set a static IP for each and to set up a TCP/IP port to print in order to avoid disconnectivity due to router/Wifi problem. But nothing helps me like your video to get the printers CONNECTED to the network. They are just always offline. I "ping" their IP address in the command prompt and can never reach them. Now it works!! Thanks for sharing!!
