I have had two canon printers and was glad when they left. Both were always difficult to use. Many times they invented a reason they could not print. Very frustrating. The canon eco tank model I just got rid of cost $400 three years ago and just died. The ink pads filled up and there is no fix available. I will never buy a canon product again! Junk really.

Hello Eric. Listen son, you are freaking brilliant. I have watched tutorials to set up my printer every time it goes out after lightning or power cuts. You are the first information sharer that gave it to me in a Chop Chop shortcut setup. God bless you. I am thankful. This time I left the darn thing for a month since I did not want to go reset it for an hour going through setting after setting. 5 minutes into your video and I am done and very happy. Thanks so much. I started out trying all three methods, none of whish worked! But then I looked up how to use WPS on my TP-Link Router and found that the button should only be pushed for 1 second, not 5 secs as stated on the printer screen. That did the trick and now I am connected. Your tutorial is very clear and easy to follow!

It's much more helpful than the official manual which seems to talk about connecting to wifi in vague generalities without giving any actual instructions on how to do it, or at least I couldn't find any. On my printer, the LCD display doesn't seem to give any indication of what all the setup options mean (just numbers, and I couldn't find a key to the numbers anywhere!) so I wasn't able to get Method 1 to work, but the phone app method worked well for me.

Thank you for this! It really made it easy! ...two things I would add that might trip people up, like me, is that after the printer is connected you still have to ADD PRINTER in your computer. Secondly, go into printer preferences and make sure it is set to the same paper you are using in the printer. The main dingdong on this is between "A4" and "letter". If you do not tell your computer that the printer you added has which specific paper you put in it, it will have an error message. (In the time it took me to make this comment, I did my first printing by wifi! Yoohooo!)

Any idea how to have the enter passphrase key screen popup? Whenever I go to select my wireless network, the step to enter passphrase skips and it goes right to connecting. I have trie d manually resetting LAN settings, but that doesn't't seem to wipe the printer's LAN memory. I've tried resetting all setting on the printer to no avail. I changed my routers to something better, one without a WPS button, my name is the same on my network as the previous router
Also same problem with enter passphrase screen not coming up, but going straight to connecting and then printer doesn’t connect. Printer was working previously, but the stopped worker after our wifi went on and off a few times.

Very informative. I'm running into another problem with cannon G3260. I had already connected to wifi network and now i'm trying to change network and connect to another wifi router. For some reason it feels like it has stored the earlier wifi password and using that to connect new wifi network hence times out with all three methods. Also, in all three methods I do not get a prompt to enter password for new network. I have tried reset all settings but no luck. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks!

I pulled the image from Google images, saved as a pdf and went through the deal, it acted like I sent it , it printed a blank page! When printing from a computer I had the option "fit to page", I'm assuming it has something to do with the image size right? Help!!

I am at my wits end.....Your video is very clear to understand,I have followed ALL 3 methods and still my printer is *offline* . It happens when I try to print something...a box comes up saying my printer is *offline* I disconnected it from the power point and retry to connect but its still happening...Can anyone help me please
My Canon printer 5300 although it can print it says when trying to scan : USB disconnected, Scanner is off. Neither of these things is true. Could it be that a long time ago someone connected the WiFi which still has a blue symbol on the printer which I can not discover where to turn it off?

I have a question. Ive been looking everwhere to try and find this out. Ive been tring to connect my phones and tablets and laptop. I was able before to connect one of my tablets. Nut now i cant. And i found out that now it doesnt have an ip address. And i cant find how to pur one back on. Can u please help me put woth this please.

This should be included in the Canon link. It made it so simple it was ridiculous. I had almost returned the G7020 because the USB cable wouldn’t connect. I purchased a high speed cable and corrected that problem. I was not even going to attempt the WiFi connection until I found this instructional video. Thank you, thank you.

I am at my wits end.....Your video is very clear to understand,I have followed ALL 3 methods and still my printer is *offline* . It happens when I try to print something...a box comes up saying my printer is *offline* I disconnected it from the power point and retry to connect but its still happening...Can anyone help me please
My Canon printer 5300 although it can print it says when trying to scan : USB disconnected, Scanner is off. Neither of these things is true. Could it be that a long time ago someone connected the WiFi which still has a blue symbol on the printer which I can not discover where to turn it off?
Thanks for this. My attempts have failed. I had to set up a new router and I cannot get the Canon printer to allow me to type in a new password. Regardless of how I try to set up the new network, it fails -- of course because the new network has a new password. Any ideas?
1 question, Would I have to reenter the password if the electricity goes down? Or will it return when the electricity returns?
