Bravo to neuroplasticity & Dr. Farias' efforts to help dystonia patients regain human dignity through a true empathetic & authentic understanding & approach to healing this devastating disease. Thank you Dr. Farias, for all that you have done in this field. Looking forward to a full recovery in the future.
I got inspired by one of his patients videos about 6 months ago. I’d been trying to rehab my body but this showed me it was time to work on my brain. I was just watching a video I took in the gym yesterday and out loud said “holy $&!@“ I’m not sick anymore!!!! I can’t believe it but I thank all those that came before me for my recovery. There’s truly so many reasons to have hope with caring doctors like this changing what it means to have dystonia forever! Thanks, doc! You saved my life!
I an a physician who recently came across dystonia . This is a very impressive presentation. I admire this physician who did a lot, for his patients. You notice his keen observation and analysis about this condition.
Wow. How did she have the muscle to do those moves after 18 years in a chair?! I'm so glad to see he includes reconnecting to life/passion as part of his program. That's how you know he's gonna change lives
Dystonia is very strange. I remember the first time I deadlifted double my body weight. I felt like a champion lifting the weight and then walked away like an old man, too weak to hold my head up. The muscles affected by dystonia are still firing so the muscles maintain their strength. Its just using them skillfully that is lost
this is hope giving, a friend of mine has been struggling with tremors which started in her 35, I am advising this path to her. I just hope there will be enough opportunities for treatment for people!
I discovered dr. Moshe Feldenkrais, thank to youtube in 2012. To me, the most inspiring person ever. Today I felt very inspired again watchig your video. Thanks for sharing, hope to know you in person some time.
excellent video and super imformative. Just bought your book and looking forward to reading it Working on getting over focal distonia of my left hand currently so I am sure it will be a valuable resource
What an amazing treatment. That lady went from being permanently folded over like a sandwich, completely crippled to being able to dance again. Incredible.
So nice to have someone describe what this condition is like. am a i believe adult on=set generalized dystonia patient although has been cervical mostly but limbs are starting to progress. No one seems to get it except my dr. would love to have the help to get to the point of being who I was physically.

I have been diagnosed with Cervical Dystonia seven years ago and have been getting steady Boxtox treatments since with little relief from extreme muscle pulling in the back and side of my neck, When I lay down the Dystonia goes away completely, I don't get a good answer from my Neurologist how the Dystonia can shut on and off by just laying down can you relate to this ? Thank you for sharing your video.
Do you sleep on your side? Maybe try sleeping on your back I heard from a chiropractor that is good for your body to help balance. I'm no expert just also learning because I also have the CD.
I was diagnosed with dystonia 2 years ago in the mouth with bad involarty contractions, however I am back at work half day only but I am going to see Dr Farris in May this year as I battle to talk clearly. For those who don't know You can now go online with Dr Farais there is a fee to be paid but he can help us online as well.

Kelly Edwards hi my name is Lloyd and I have been battling generalized dystonia for 15 yrs. started with my eyes clamping shut then that went away, then my vocal cord . That went after awhile and now my abdomen, making it almost impossible to walk upright. Surgeons don’t think DBS will help. Any ideas for me Kelly, thanks in advance, any suggestion will be appreciated.
Dr Farias, thank you for your video and for your work. I wonder if you have considered the role of the Endocannabinoid system in dystonia? Is it possible that a deficit of components in diet or the environment could be limiting the functions of the CB2 receptors in the system?
Dr. Farías hello. I would like to be trained in your method to help dystonia patients in my country. Many patients struggle with this disease still being on botulinum toxin and others do not respond. How can I get in contact with you? Diana
He has two websites if you just search his name. One of them has his contact info. He offers a subscription based recovery program which I'm currently a part of (I have arm/hand/wrist/finger dystonia), online seminars, and in person seminars.
@@junaidakhter8699 So good! I'd say 60% ability has been restored. I'm able to use my right hand in most ways with no pain and no spasms, as well as type pretty quickly again with no pain or spasms. Still working on writing but even writing has gotten so much easier!
Sir, I also have this problem. I used to write for six-seven hours every day for two years, so I got this disease too. Now I am undergoing treatment at the Apollo Hospital in Nashik India . Is it possible to cure the disease because my study is not going on now?
@@user-oh5pn3py4p I think it's more likely that you're trying to find an explanation for your situation by looking at what's unordinary/sub-par about your environment. If it's not the air, it's your diet, your sleep patterns, using your phone too much, living in a place that has a lot of people that wear Crocs, etc.

18:27 This is another rule of problem, is that you can treat an arm in an eye, or you can treat a finger in shoulder, so its not 'tight' location.

I’m wholly convinced issues like these are caused by very poor indoor air quality/fine particulate expose. Any thoughts?
Nope, I have dystonia and grew up in the fresh air near Mt Rainier.
