When based in Bielefeld I brought my car over and it remained with its UK registration. I’ve been pulled over 4 times during my station there for random vehicle checks by TÜV, DEKRA or Bundesamt, (same as the DVSA does in the UK) as foreign plates there are an easy target and other countries have not as strict rules, UK MOT system is 12 months where Germany’s is 24 months but the roads are not the same. Volvo 850r passed every time 🍰.
