You need to replace the valve gasket. On turbo-models its one outer gasket, 2 gaskets around the sparkplugs, and 8 gaskets for the bolts. To replace you need to remove the valve cover, which is a lot more complicated on turbo-models, than n/a-models. Then replace all gaskets and put it back. But watch that the gasket is tight, and stays on during installation. If you install the gasket wrong, it will drain the engine of oil and lead to catastrophic engine damage. So if you don’t feel comfortable doing it yourself better bring it to a mechanic. And no, unlike some people say, the engine does NOT have to be taken out in order to replace the gasket.

Ah, ich vermute es liegt daran: Es gibt ein Kabel das man an die Handbremse anschließen muss, damit Videos nur im Stand abgespielt werden können. Wenn ich mich richtig erinnere müsste das Kabel Hellgrün sein. Versuch mal das Kabel auf Masse zu legen, falls es nicht angeschlossen ist, und schau obs dann geht.

Thanks. Unfortunally only on the used market. They were originally sold by orciari.it, but production has finished many years ago. So your only chance is the used market, and probably most of them are in europe.

Orciari wird meineswissens nicht mehr neu verkauft. Tauchen aber ab und zu mal auf Kleinanzeigen und ähnlichen Plattformen auf. Könntest mal beim örtlichen Subaru-Händler anfragen, wg STI-Scheinwerfern. Könnte sein, das die noch erhältlich sind, wird dich aber wahrscheinlich so einiges kosten… Die normalen Ersatzteil-Websites bieten sie leider nicht an. Gebraucht sind sie auch recht teuer, und der Zustand der Linsen ist meistens nicht so schön.

Danke auf jedenfall für die Antwort. Die Morette habe ich leider schon zu Hause liegen, passen aber nicht zu meinem Kühlergrill und mit der Qualität bin ich auch überhaupt nicht zufrieden, außerdem fehlt die leuchtweiten Regulierung… Werde mal weiter schauen, aber trotzdem danke!

Nein, tut mir leid. Ich habe meine Gebraucht besorgt. Könntest bei Subaru direkt anfragen, ist aber eher unwahrscheinlich das die noch welche haben. Sonst bieten diverse Nachbau-Hersteller (wie z.B. Depo) ja noch neue Scheinwerfer an, auch mit E-Nummern und allem, aber soweit ich sehe nur WRX/Sauger-Scheinwerfer. Das Glas ist das selbe, man könnte also neue Scheinwerfer kaufen, das Glas runterziehen und auf ein altes STI-Gehäuse kleben. Ob das legal ist, ka, aber Polizei/TÜV sollte nicht meckern, weil die E-Nummern ja im Glas stehen.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean. In Europe pre-facelift WRXs came standard with the automatic A/C. Only N/A models were offered without A/C, and having a semi-automatic A/C as an option. Might be different for the US-market though, I don't know. If thats what you mean. Mine came with automatic A/C from the factory, and the new controls were also from a car with automatic A/C. For me everything just plugged right in, connectors were all the same. The facelift-controls also allow for more fine fan-speed-adjustment, which also works no problem. Hope this helps

The HID-headlights should (in an STI) level themselves without driver input. For the Non-HID-version the level can be adjusted using a switch next to the foglight switch. The problem is that the STI-headlights use a 6-pin-connector for the leveling adjustment, and the WRX- or N/A-headlights use a 3-pin-connector (in Euro-models, might be different for US-models). I havent yet figured out a way to make the WRX-wiring for the leveling adjustment work with the STI-headlight. But you can also manually set the height using a screw on the back of the headlight.

Sorry I don't fully understand what your trying to tell me. I don‘t know what you mean by "ballast is stuffed", it doesn't translate right. Technically u could use the same wires to power both headlights, but that will either reduce the power going to each of them or constantly fry the fuse for the headlights.

No. It's supposed to work like this, the low beams are supposed to turn off. Yes, with many other brands, the lb stays on, but in a Bugeye it turns off. I've spoken with multiple STI-Bugeye owners before making this video.

If you do it yourself, you just need one new gasket for the cover, 2 around the spark plugs and 8 for the screws. Just the parts in OEM-quality come out at around 50€ (Nov 23) here in Germany. Of course the price may vary, depending where your from. If you let a shop do the work, of course you‘re gonna have to pay extra for the labor.

I'm not an electrical expert, and I can't really help you without seeing the problem. But I could imagine that it has something to do with the led-bulbs, maybe did you put in one the wrong way (+ and - switched)?

I‘d recommend just searching ebay for that particular country (f.e. GB). Thats how I found mine. Yes, that means you‘re gonna have to pay extra for shipping.

I‘ve swapped these headlights a long time ago, so I don‘t exactly remember how the WRX-ones compare to it. But I‘ve run 3 different headlights over the years on my bugeye, and didn‘t really notice a huge difference in visibility. I‘ve been driving with these headlights for over a year now, and never had any problems with visibility. (Althought I have to mention, that I mostly drive during the day)

The lip is an original Subaru-part. It was available as a factory option back in the day. The part-number is "E2410FE000TG". You could ask Subaru if they still sell them, although I doubt that they do. Your best chance is probably to look on the used market (Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, Ebay,...), thats where I got mine.

Unfortunally not, the N1 isn‘t legal in my country. So I picked out my exhaust purely based on how similar it looks to the N1. Its the Invidia 2. An old Model you won‘t be able to get anywhere anymore.

My wrx fog lights only come on when when pressed twice on low beams, otherwise they never come on. Sounds similar to your problem but the connectors are stock. I'm thinking maybe the leds may be wired wrong, but I have yet to figure out a way to test it

To my knowledge the orciari headlights are no longer produced new. Your best chance of getting a set of these is on the used market, on websites like ebay or craigslist. I’d definitely look on the european market, your best chances are probably in Switzerland or Italy.

Two of the a mounting-bolts can be used to adjust the direction (how high, and how much left-right) the light beam comes out of the car. The High-Beam and Blinker-units should be the same for LHD and RHD, but the Low-Beam has some differences. The difference between the LHD- and RHD-ones is not only the general direction (more left or more right), in which the light comes out, it’s also which direction the sloping part points. Unfortunately, to change that part you have to take apart the projector unit, and replace the metal plate in there, that gives it its shape. Or alternatively you could buy some new LHD-Projector-Units and replace them.

@@ThatGermanBugeye Thanks for the info, that's what seemed to be coming up from Scooby and NASIOC. Have to make some LHD "shields" as they call them to make sure they're not blinding the other side of the road haha. Or replace the whole unit like you suggest. I'll give it some think and more research. Thanks!

Thanks, It’s a custom sticker I got printed. The Text reads: STI - Subaru - Japan (with the STI-logo in pink) Had it printed as a „image with transparent background“, because everyone who prints text-based stickers doesn’t allow japanese letters. Cost me like 30€ or smt custom, has been on the car for over 2 years now.

Yes, during wiring I accidentally switched two wires, that’s why the high beams weren’t working correctly. I‘ll make an other video soon showing the wiring to fix it.

Yeah, I had to lay the Orciari’s aside for the time being. I liked them as well, but had no choice. I got a new (not broken) bumper and had it painted, but for some stupid reason the Orciari’s just wouldn’t wanna fit with it. And because I didn’t want them to break, I decided it would be the easier option to switch them out. So I got myself some STI-Headlights. Sadly, here in Germany, EBay-Headlights just aren‘t an option, as the police is very strict with modifications. Nice regards, Niels

They are no longer sold new as far as I know, your best bet is probably to get them used from some website like Ebay or Facebook Marketplace... The ones from the Video I got with the car when I purchased it, the original owner bought them shortly after the car. I just took them out to repaint the covers, that’s also why the wires were already cut...

Als ich den WRX gekauft hab, da waren die Scheinwerfer schon dran, ich hab sie nur für ne Zeit lang durch die Originalen ersetzt, bis ich mich entschieden hab die Orciaris wieder ran zu machen. Ich weis das die Leuchteinheiten Standardteile von Hella sind, die man bei denen auch noch neu kaufen kann, bei der Steuereinheit hab ich leider keine Ahnung. Könnte mir aber gut vorstellen, dass die evt auch von Hella ist. Wenn nicht haben evt. die Morrette-Scheinwerfer ne ähnliche Steuerung, die sind ja aber leider genau so schwer zu bekommen. Viel Glück noch bei deiner Suche.
