Couldn't agree more. President Carter is so under appreciated. Good choice Renee! Isn't she a doll? What class and beauty!
I actually put him in my top 10 US presidents
She comes across to me as being highly intelligent and thoughtful even though obviously nervous and somewhat uncomfortable in giving an interview. She knew Colbert was a big Tolkien fan. Her fandom for Jimmy Carter is understandable for intelligent human beings. World War 2 vet. Married for 76 years. Poet. Humanitarian. Religious. Principled. Honest. He's everything the current president is not. Both will likely end up being one term presidents but only Carter is a man of honor and integrity. A person who cares about others.
Yes, wonderfully said everything I too feel . I've admired President Carter 4 years. So sorry our current president couldn't be more like President Carter .
@@patdepaula6618 I am a 60 yr old Ret. Army Vet. I had a wonderful career and now I am a govt Civ doing a similar job. I joined in 1977 because I KNEW that Pres. Carter would NOT send me to a stupid war, which to a 19 yrs old post Viet Nam era young man was very important. I have strived my whole life to be a man such as him. And she gave a short list of his qualities. Habitat for Humanity is and of itself I think awesome.
Jimmy Carter is all of those things, except he is not a World War II veteran in the usual sense of the term. He was in the U.S. Naval Academy during World War II, graduating in 1946. He served in the Navy until 1953, and in the Naval Reserve until 1961.
It's been said that Jimmy Carter may not have had a great career as a president, but had a brilliant and outstanding career post-presidency. He's more than a great president, he's a great human being.
Unlucky President. Except for failed military equipment, he might have pulled off a win.
Hope President Carter sees this. 💞
I absolutely love her for waiting to meet a good person like Jimmy Carter....
She's just adorable!!! And so talented! This whole interview was a joy to watch!!!
I love Renee Z a little bit more after hearing about her crush on president Jimmy Carter! Her intelligence shines throughout her interview!
Such a lovely and sweet woman. Hollywood needs more genuinely kind people like her. I grew up watching Bridget Jones and I love her in Chicago too
Of all the people she could have picked, her celebrity crush is Jimmy Carter - not the president, but the scholar, humanitarian and poet. 😍😍
YoSoyMami I love that about her and I second that! Jimmy Carter is a very worthy “celebrity crush” fir all the right reasons. ❤️
Row of heart emojis!
YoSoyMami
This makes me love her.
Wendy Pastore right? How refreshingly humane
I met him,he was/ is lovely ,polite,humble,smart,funny! I get the crush
Yeah when we had presidents that inspired us and remained revered long after they left office. Remember that?
I'm in love! What an adorable and deep woman. Absolutely brilliant and a great actress. Very admirable 🥰
Love this woman. Such a great actor and person. And still so beautiful. Hear she’s 50 but, boy, she’s still a hottie.
And she made me go and watch video on Jimmy. And made me appreciate him more.
But she seems so vulnerable in this video. Makes me want to hug her and tell her how marvelous she is...
So glad she is back with "Judy", a beautiful human being. So great to learn more about her, see her depth and humility.
"There is just something about a man in his 90's".
Jimmy Carter sheared a book of love letters through the years he wrote to his wife, simply beautiful.
She is wonderful - what a beautiful personality.
The real problem is that performance on Colbert deserves an Oscar. That is the definition of a good celebrity story.
I never knew how delightful Ms Zellweger is... A Hollywood celebrity waiting 4+ hours to meet Jimmy Carter... Very telling...! Quality.
President Carter is a sweet, sincere man.
The one ex-president who is the most polar opposite of the current president.
@@ohyeah6729 Yeppers.
Carter: Builds homes for the homeless in his offtime. Trump: Can't be bothered to close an umbrella. Polar opposites.
Proudly, he was the first president I was old enough to vote for, and still my favorite.
@@lauriejanes6511 I was too young to vote but I remember. He strives to live his Christian belief. I respect him so much.
So funny. Great story from Renee. "Hey" 🤣🥰
The first time I watched Renee’s interview was with Keanu Reeves and I instantly felt she was just as kind as him. The fact that she named Jimmy Carter of all the people just shows that she’s an amazing person.
My fellow Texan, and fellow Jimmy Carter enthusiast, Renee Zellweger. 💗
4 years later and this means even more...
I loved her Jimmy Carter story!! Wish he talked about it more with her. She sweet and smart and talented!
Renee...WOW.........you are AMAZING..THANK you for your service to HUMANITY.....for appreciating ....JIMMY Carter's...contributions to HUMANITY...for being you
Carter rocks
Love from Saudi Arabia my lady
I would wait four hours to meet her. I think she's wonderful!
Speaks laudably of Renee that she loves Jimmy Carter. President Carter is an exceptional human being. Renee has a beautiful heart. It takes an exceptional human to recognize another exceptional human being. The old adage - we see yourselves in others.
She is adorable .... she seems shy looking down quite often .... she is a classy lady ! 😘❤️
I've had a crush on Renée for years and years.
love this woman
Yes Taika Waititi. I would be star struck tooo lol
I have so missed her jimmy cater is a good man unlike the crap we have now
I watched her in What/If on Netflix. Brilliant actor and supremely gorgeous.
She’s really lovely.
Perfect as Judy =Oscar...
She.. is such a.. i mean a WOman, such a sweetheart, i love her=D
When i was growing up although Nixon and Ford were presidents too, Jimmy Carter was the first when I reached the age of understanding to know who the President was. Great and humble man. Everyone is free to criticise the way he ran the country or for whatever reason politically, but I see no no reason to find fault with him as a person - human being. He was upright, honest God fearing, caring and helpful, the kind of qualities we so often like to proclaim we have but actually don't. I don't think there's a single bad bone in this man's body. I think this was the closest we had for a Saint as President. Again, not politics, but character and goodness of heart. Yes Trump supporters may not like him because he criticises the President, but when he says he prays for Trump, I truly believes he does, and for him to succeed too. Not to admonish, but for him to do well as President.
She´s a very smart woman in a subtle way.
She's a class act
Her story about meeting President Carter was so cute.
Well I now love Renee Zellweger a lot!
Class
Made in Switzerland 🤩🇨🇭
ouch. and it was a cute story too. love you renee
She’s so beautiful
Missed opportunity to say "you had me at hello".
"You always look so cute. Lips all pursed together, eyes squinting, Like you just bit into a lemon." -Jim Carrey, Me, Myself, and Irene
Was that quote referring to her? Should have been as she is always squinting. She doesn't seem to have much confidence for an actress, does she? She could have been someone pulled from the audience. For a while she wouldn't even look Colbert in the eye.
google gal who cares if she’s not confident giving interviews? she’s a fabulous actor and that’s all that matters...
Wow, you learn things every day...
Everyone in Katy should be proud
She's still such a doll.
Delightfully cookie.
I think I'm in loo-oove!
VERY LIKEABLE!
What's the deleted video at the end of this segment's playlist???
Es re tímida, no mira cuando habla pero es muy adorable buena actríz!
She is the real deal.
I know this clip was about Jimmy Carter but I was not expecting Stephen to say he was starstruck by Taika Waititi. I've wanted them to meet for so long!
Back to uploading interview segments out of order again I see. Well, nice while it lasted 🤷🏻♂️
Yeah, quite annoying. I really don't understand the point of doing that. They won't get more clicks by doing that.
Usually, in a two-part interview (two YT clips, that is) the longer one is the first one. Works most of the time.
It gets trickier for longer interviews like the 4 videos with Paul McCartney the other day. Easy enough to find the first part (that's where he comes in) but the rest, I just watched in the hope there wouldn't be too many references to bits in segments I should have watched first.
4:18 i bet Stephen in his mind is like damm she's so cute, can't blame him tho.
Renee Zellweger reminds me of a blonde Jennifer Garner. A little more eccentric though (Renee that is).
Renée Zellweger Waited Four Hours In The Cold To Meet Jimmy Carter
ugh constipation is an energy
She is the complete package
SHE KNOWS HER DRESS IS OFF HER LEFT SHOULDER ...TWICE SHE TOUCHED IT AS IF TO FIX IT.......BUT DOES NOT ..???????
Ellen pompeo’s twin
Wow,she has the personality of stale toast
Why are her eyes always so small
Because that's just the way she's made... a lot of folks love her crinkly eyes when she's tickled at something. Sad that that seems to be the main thing you got out of this entire interview w/an individual possessing such a refreshing, humble outlook on so many different subjects.
@@fenixcreciente8576 to assume my curious comment is the full extent of my take away would be overly malignant
All that for a lame punch line
I love her but what was that? was she drunk or was she stoned?
Possibly shy & somewhat nervous doing this high-profile unrehearsed interview...
The comment section on all of Renee's videos are full of positive comments and nice things being said but once she brings up a former president she gets a ton of hate and abuse. It's so weird how Americans hate when celebrities mention anyone or anything political.
Rene Zellweger AND "Botox Meets Sucking On Lemons"
Lost me at religious
I live her as an actress but she seems off here
Consume less? That won't happen.
She's so different than I would expect. Crazy thoughtful . I hope someone shows this to Jimmy.
She’s adorable! How wonderful she admires the brilliant Jimmy Carter for his wonderful attributes that have nothing to do with his being a past President.
She's lovely and I thought in my ignorance she was British once when I saw her in the Bridget Jones movies. Her accent is perfect
Folks who sing well generally have a certain talent for doing accents. Meryl Streep certainly has that talent, as does the lovely Renee.
Renee's admiration of Jimmy Carter is thoroughly delightful. The 4 minutes listening to her story was such a refreshing change of pace from our current political environment.
Zellweger has a charming kind of fragile vulnerability. Pretty smart, too.
She's beautiful inside and out. Her story about meeting Jimmy Carter made her even more admireable than ever.❤
Jesus I forgot how charming and disarming she is. I didn’t stop smiling the entire clip.
VideoVoid TV Neither did she......she can’t! Too much plastic surgery.
@SuperEdge67 Trollolololol 😛
She seemed so shy having to speak before a huge live audience. Didn't know that about her. She's adorable.
Jesus I forgot how Charming and disarming she is --------- Thank you for sharing. However, I am NOT a neurologist who can help you out with your MEMORY LAPSES...Get well soon..
She is my one "claim to fame". Her uncle lives two houses down from me, here in Norway. And according to my mom - me and she played together on the local beach when we were kids (like 5 years old). =P
Congratulations, should you manage to squeeze any amount of fame out of that! 😉😋
@@johanneshalberstadt3663 I should have made a move...when i was 5 years old =P
I thought she's from Texas
You must have mistaken her with someone else!
🧡lovely!
That's so sweet 😍
How can you not love Renee Zellwegger after that?
Met her when I was a little kid. We were both taking French class lol I guess she was doing it for a role or something. Didn’t realize it was her until she got off the elevator. My favorite movie then was Down With Love and when it clicked who she was, I turned to my dad with my mouth open. She was carrying one of those big trays of Starbucks so I held the door for her and she was so grateful like I had given her 100 bucks or something. She kept saying thank you. Maybe it’s a southern thing, but definitely the most warm and friendly celebrity encounter I’ve ever had.
It is a Southern thing, but it's a thing because Southerners really are that gracious; she totally meant it.
@@MelissaThompson432 yup it's definitely a southern thing.
Aww, that's a really sweet experience. Glad you had a nice encounter with her.
My favorite movie when I was a teenager was Down with Love! Loved her and Ewan together!
Lucky!
I swear I thought she was going to say to Carter, "You had me at hello!"
👍😂
Renée Zellweger is one of those fortunate people who become more attractive with age.
Surely you jest?
She looks bizar!
Only her mouth moves, and with effort she blinks.... too much surgery and botox.
What? She can barely move her lips.
@@shinnam she's 50. I think it's wonderful she looks great. You know what's a shame? When people let them selves go at 30.
I love how her southern accent peeks out at times
I have loved President Carter since 1970! He is all of that and more.
The entire interview was cool, but I especially loved her Jimmy Carter story. No how matter successful she is it's cute that she would get shy upon meeting President Carter 💗😂
I love when your eyes are squinting and it looks like you just sucked on a lemon but you pull it off - Me Myself and Irene
That’s the years of doing coke. I can’t stand all her twitching and shaking. Makes me want to slap her and say stop with this shit
@@noirrain6005 yeah, cause it couldn't be nervousness or anything...
Douche.
Hope you don't have kids or pets, sounds like you go around slapping anything that moves. Take your meds if needed. Stop your shit it makes me think you're a nervous wreak. Have a nice day :)
A wonderful interview with a wonderful woman. I appreciate her President Carter story. He's the only president I'll go to Washington DC for to attend his funeral procession. His profound goodness has inspired me all these years. Especially given our epically degenerate parasite-in-chief, I will surely weep upon President Carter's passing.
Imagine being the kid in 1980 and openly supporting Jimmy Carter just before election day and telling the class in a speech why they should reelect him as POTUS. Yes that was me and I am still alive today. Hey, he turned out to be a beacon for peace and that I hope we can all agree on.
we waited in the blistering cold for you, 4 hours.. and you just said no....
Stan!
Plot twist: He said 'Hello'
"Hey."
😆
Rock on Rene. You are wonderful, genuine and sweet! Not to mention your intelligence.
Ok. This is super charming. Very cool reasons to pick a person to wait in the snow 4 four hours to meet. Made me like her a lot.
She looks SO good! I remember a year or two ago when she was all over the news for “getting plastic surgery” and being “unrecognizable” and she said she was just living her best life. Boy was she right.
She is adorable! Take me to the Oscars!
Here it is ... She's beautiful in expressing her adoration. Trolls? Calm down.
New-found admiration for Renee Zellweger!
Except for the Navy part (and the age and sickness), she pretty much described Stephen!
