Those monster trout you were marking at crowley lake are called alpers, they are a hybrid mix between the wild and the stocked fish there. The funnest way to catch them is to pick up a fly rod use streamers and hit Owens river at a certain time of the year when all of them come out of the lake and go into the river. And always release what you catch!

Agree. I'm typically too lazy to prep and cook fish, so the fish typically get off with a warning, especially at a venue such as this.
Wind can be a lot of fun if you pick up a sail, another reason to back to the Hobie 😏
