      @@kumarshishupal1583 so far, its been great. When gaming the laptop got pretty toasty but an undervolt fixed the problem. Raise the laptop when you're gaming though. The one I got was 8gb of ram but that was an easy upgrade. There's also an extra nvme slot so you can get more storage. Overall, it's a great choice and I really recommend it

      Hey man I just bought this last month because it was on sale at Walmart. The laptop overheats like crazy when I play any game. Even when I turn down the graphics on games such as league of legends it's pretty insane just how hot this gets after using it for league for 15 minutes. After an hour the thing practically burns my finger if I touch the area where it gets the hottest. Any recommendations on how to keep it cool? Also I'm worried if I play it while it heats like that it's going to damage the laptop.

    Just found your channel, and this video, because I just got this laptop and was having trouble getting the back panel off. I missed the screw under that sticker in the middle. After that it was a breeze but during the process I accidentally popped off that long thin cover over some wires at the back. I'd ordered an extra 8gb ram at the time so I should be good now.
    I appreciate the game tests using just the stock 8gb. This is a fantastic bang for the buck but if someone's on a budget you can always get more ram and storage later.

      So true well said, yeah a lot of laptops use fragile plastics its nice that its light and the machine works but yeah people gotta be careful or else they risk breaking that back panel. I literally damaged it and I was very careful during the dismantlement.

Battery goes to zero acts like it isnt plugged up then system shuts off completely. If I try on battery only after fully charged the battery quickly fades then when i restart it gives me a bluescreen error. A generalized blue screen error. I have to keep ac adapter plugged in at all times to run device will not work without ac power.

    Lightweight, 6 heatsink pipes, build is good being lightweight, easy to carry anywhere. It would make msi gf65 great if they provided with one usb port on left, 1 slot for hdd and color accurate monitor like gp65 leopard.

    What does the fn+F7 command do? The one that looks like a G ,thanks in advance!

    • @SERGE_Tech
      @SERGE_Tech  3 года назад +1

      its a programmable button since its an f key and the g is what they branded the button as for the gaming center that opens up when you press it. They are experimenting with control over the user via an application that launches and lets you customize settings on your machine.
      Since most gamers and people don't understand how to use there computer let alone the operating system this button serves as first contact, they are merely fighting to be the first to have an impression on you, after all it is partially there assembled hardware.
      If you are a power user there is probably nothing for you but if you are new to pc gaming and pc usage then this might be interesting to explore.

I am thinking about connecting a giant monitor on wheels for my self that way I can see exactly whats going on. I am not sure this would be practical for you but you could also get a smaller portable monitor to see the clips in greater detail or just view the clips on a laptop.

    Do you have set up the "Energy Plan" to "Ultimate Performance"??? If not your FPS might be lower than usual because the Performance Limiter caused from the Energy Plan (are you on Mobility Mode?) - If you set the Energy Plan to "Maximum Performance" and set the "Dragon Center" to "Medium" or "High" Performance mode then you can play Apex Legends at Maximum setting at least 80 FPS! Its not a Notebook, its a Powerbook! But its not "Future Proof" like a "Clunky Big Desktop-PC" which is why I would prefer a "Clunky Big" Desktop-PC

      would love to help you decide, 3 weeks later did you end up picking a machine? the Asus tends to have slightly better quality but worse specifications, so if you want the better gpu and cpu combo the msi tends to do that better. Overall since they are fairly equal which one do you think is good?

    I planning on buying this device with 16GB RAM, RTX 3060 6GB GPU, 1TB SSD and I want to know how does the heating of the laptop affect it's life. I've seen lots of reviews saying it gets really hot but I want to know how does that affect it's life time.

    • @SERGE_Tech
      @SERGE_Tech  3 года назад

      To know how it affects its life is rather hard to say, everyone can agree that hotter machines don't last a long, and these machines thermally are seriously pushing there luck, although they are designed to work like this so it will probably be fine.

      should be able to get something pretty decent for $1000 USD are you considering used or refurbished markets? These are some of the best places to look for machines. cragislist and ebay tend to have very good deals.
      gf65 thin is a very good competitor to acer nitro 5. If it seems like the gf65 thin can do it all for you just pick it because its a decent machine priced very competitively.
      right now for your price range I believe the Lenovo Legion 5 is the best machine you can get. It might be 1200$ which is a more then what you have but you might be able to find a used one. Take a look:

    i just pick this up from an auction from an online return ( assuming amazone return ) brand new 1660ti 2tb adata swordfish 64 gb ram. had an issue with installing windows for the first time ( simple and easy fix). but i cannot seem to find out the full specs of this device is this device capable of 4x4 express m. 2? or is it a 3x4 i see i am able to upgrade with a 2nd m.2 which is a plus but im looking at faster loading with the 4x4 pcie rather than the 3x4. any ofo would be appreciated thank you!

    • @SERGE_Tech
      @SERGE_Tech  3 года назад

      Oh cool what auction did you find it at? be interesting to know.
      To know the full spec of the device you need to determine the exact model of laptop you have. If you cant do that figure out what the motherboard is using a program like cpu z and then you can google the capabilities of that specific motherboard, might be able to find it in a manufactures website either on MSI or who ever designed the board knows the true capabilities. Sometimes the motherboard manufacturer doesn't even know what its capable of... pretty funny stuff...
      its probably 3x4 and some other kind of slower variant most of the second slots in machines are not true second slot but instead some gimped lanes exist and it operates at half speed. Id be very surprised if a budget machine had fastest speed available with all 4 lanes.
      Where do you need the faster loads? what specific application are you worried about because it might not even matter?

    • @SERGE_Tech
      @SERGE_Tech  3 года назад

      Depends on the work you do and it depends on how fast you need it to be, HDD is real slow, and SSD has come down in price quite a bit. What I do is get an External SSD, I use a Samsung T3 and Samsung T5 both are fast and work well. SSD can also take a drop or fall and not break. If you can afford it id just get that instead, External ssd might be a little annoying at times but its protected if your laptop dies you just unplug your ssd and your good to go. The machine can also support internal nvme ssd which is another option but those are usually a little more expensive, but really that will depend on the brand.

    hey SERGE, i hope you see this post, and I hope you're doing well. i bought this laptop in late December of 2020 and out of the box i have had battery issues. i ran the Dragon Center battery calibration right out of the box, and have ran it every 2-3 months since. with the keyboard backlight off, lower refresh rate, windows settings to max battery life, and Dragon Center set to max battery, i only get about 30 minutes of battery life at best. is this a sign of a DOA battery? WHAT AM I DOING WRONG!? I appreciate any info you can give.

    • @SERGE_Tech
      @SERGE_Tech  3 года назад

      Great question, actually 30 minute battery depends on the game, some games demand a lot of resources thats just how it is, sometimes I can get 2hrs playing a low demanding game but most high end games will just kill the battery....
      m1 macbook solved the battery issue but no other company has found a way to do this.
      update me on how your problem is coming along, I would like to know if you solved it any other way.

    I am uncertain between Legion 5i 10750H i7 gtx1660ti and this notebook. Both have almost the same features but the only thing is thermal issue for msi. And on the other hand Lenovo is 1,5 times more expensive than msi. Would you prefer msi for this price difference or you would still prefer lenovo legion 5i ? Thanks in advance!

    • @SERGE_Tech
      @SERGE_Tech  3 года назад +2

      I recently used the legion 5 and its much better then the MSI, build quality, keyboard, speakers, screen, ports, its all better on the Lenovo.
      if your ok paying more then go with Lenovo you'll get a better machine but if money is an issue just save and go msi or acer. you can find versions of the legion 5 that are less expensive with different cpu/gpu configurations.
      really though they will all play games quite well, I like the look and feel of the msi and acer since its more light but with that lightness you get a more fragile machine when compared to lenovo.

    Hey so I'm stuck between this gp65_10skd ,legion 5 and asus zenbook ux534. which one should I buy?also if u know of any other 15inch laptop I appreciate u telling me.thanks

    • @SERGE_Tech
      @SERGE_Tech  3 года назад

      Very good question, I would go with the legion 5, it has 4 usb a ports and I find this very useful because I have multiple external drives, headphones and a mouse that need 4 usb ports. I actually tested the legion 5 and I was very impressed with it, I think its one of the best machines anyone can buy right now, its design is good, it feels high quality, it doesn't look too flashy and its priced well. the next runner up is the MSI but the msi uses cheaper components and feels like it couldn't take a drop like the legion 5 could. In terms of gaming both the lenovo and msi will be better then the zenbook, I used to really like zenbook I am not sure what happened to there brand, the screen in the trackpad really makes no sense, I see no practical use for it. I mean its kinda cool and if I could choose to have a screen in the trackpad I would but still its not super useful its a cool trick but it wont get you anywhere, the form factor of the zenbook is very nice but this machine will strugle if you compare it to the legion and the msi.
      The msi will be lighter then the legion but its also cheaper and more plasticky feeling. at this point I would say get a 17" machine if you have the ability to do so since it will make upgrading potential better. I have reviewed a lot of msi and the legion 5 I recently used for about a month was quite good I think ill be releasing a review of it soon. I think the legion has a better balance of everything it has no real weak points like the msi with its cheap feel but again you do get a lighter machine with the msi because its cheap thin plastic so its up to you.
      Which one do you want and why?

      @murad dhvk If gaming isnt the most important aspect I would suggest the macbook, im sure your tired of hearing about them but they are perfect except for high end gaming, although you can still game depends on if you are willing to tinker with it.
      What type of games do you play?
      The macbook has the best screen,
      the best trackpad,
      the best keyboard,
      the best chassis,
      the best battery,
      the best speakers,
      the best support,
      the best port selection(thunderbolt can do anything its the most capable port)
      the operating system is quite good two, except again you are not natively running windows though but with parallels it actually runs windows quite well and even gaming is decent(how ever some games have input lag), eventually you might be able to run windows natively on m1 macbook and once that time comes hands down the macbook is the best, me personally I want a macbook but with windows installed so I can still game and play natural selection 2 and RUST.
      you can find used alienware area 51m first generation for $1400, are you in india? Need to know where you are located so I can offer recommendations based on region.

      RTX 2060 is about 15% faster which isnt a huge deal. Now it will depend on if you are a very serious gamer or not. Do you play competitive multiplayer? if so then maybe the 2060 is worth it because you need the best performance as possible.

      Great questions! keep them coming. So there are two types of machines those that can browse the internet for 6-12 hours and then there are those that browse for 2-3hrs. This machine here is great for gaming, But it doesnt have the most up to date best methods used for battery optimizations. now sure you will run your browser on here just fine but that cpu doesnt throttle down to 400mhz it stays really high in the ghz and it wastes power simply staying on when it could be off. This MSI wont have good battery while browsing. I also wanna say that no windows machine usually ever has good battery while browsing. Its very rare to find but machines like the dell XPS have better firmware to control the cpu in proper maner. Dell xps could get 6hrs of browsing but you wont get a good gpu.
      A lot of what makes the gaming machine have terrible battery is the lack of good software battery optimizations and they tend to put beefy power hungry cpu and gpu. but machines like macbook and dell xps use power efficient cpus so they have good battery.
      I doubt a gaming machine has good battery pretty much ever but thats the nature of where they come from and I think even with 2-3hrs on a gaming machine is not half bad.

    so i got the newest version of this laptop the MSI gf 65 thin with
    i7-10750h
    rtx 3060 6gb
    sk hynix 8gb 3200 mhz?
    can i add another 32gb 3200 mhz ram stick with the 8 gb ? so it would become 40 gb? is it possible?
    the i7-10750h is capable of 2933mhz speed so the 3200 would be perfect ??? it would downgrade the speed to 2933?
    sorry a lot of questions

      2 weeks later, All great questions! did you end up getting the machine yet? I think you should be able to get 64gb total so putting in a 32gb should work, congrats on finding one thats got the newer gpu thats awesome! yes the ram downgrades because of some motherboard restrictions.

    • @SERGE_Tech
      @SERGE_Tech  4 года назад +2

      RTX2060 is substantially better, it has more vram and works about 10 percent faster. I will review legion in next week. If you like the design of the msi more go for that the legion may have stronger specs for the gpu. But its cpu is weaker then the msi. So I think MSI is better in this case because a 6 core vs 4 core is a much bigger deal then the gpu.

    I'm torn between this a hp omen nitro 5 and a dell g5. Btw what's the difference between a ryzen 7 and a i7 10th gen and what one is better for editing

    • @SERGE_Tech
      @SERGE_Tech  3 года назад

      the dell g5 will have the best build quality out of the 3 laptops, it will be easier to upgrade, the nitro has very cheap plastic, it is lighter but its also more fragile. MSI and ACER always win the price war meaning they are cheaper to buy more affordable. But dell is an overall better product thats just a little bit more expensive usually.
      as for the cpus, AMD which makes the ryzen 7 was actually created 40 years ago by intel as a second supplier, initially they worked together and eventually AMD started to make there own products now AMD is very different, I would say any time you compare AMD to intel, AMD is always more affordable and is a better overall deal, but intel is usually 1-3percent faster, sometimes they are not faster but in this laptop case the performance is about the same as you can see from this comparison its the same, but the benifit is that AMD is cheaper.

    I love my new laptop, have the same specifications but have 16 GB RAM, the only thing I don't like very much is that when I'm playing GTA V it goes to 90°, you recommend me tu do a Undervolting o what can I do to improve the temperature, in spite of putting a elevate table?

    • @SERGE_Tech
      @SERGE_Tech  4 года назад +2

      so the bad news is the machine is kinda designed to run somewhat hot, this will be most noticeable in games like gta5 that put the machine to its limits, you could just decrease graphics but who wants to do that I run my gta5 on max graphics because I love being immersed in that games world. absolutely amazing gaming experience, for sure its one of the best games out there.
      you could under volt you could even disable some cores if you want but perhaps just decreasing the ghz could also help. Its actually kinda hard to find a laptop that wont get hot while playing gta5 haha.

      yup they are sacrificing the machines life for its thinness, although some of these machines can handle it, if they get a good batch of hardware it can withstand the temps maybe your machine wont last 5-10 years but its the price we pay for everyone trying to make an ultrabook and also price it so low that they can hardly get any money back from the sale, its even worse now with covid, my last gaming machine had insane defects, issues with screen, ports, trackpad its crazy...
