    The most useful review for me! Now I know what configuration to get!

    I know I will get 16 Max, but my issue is which upgrade to get. You made a convincing point about the SSD value, so now I'm thinking of going from 16 to 32g of ram, but that $400 jump is f-ing brutal! I have a 15.4 in 2013 MBP, so I'm sure any silicon will be better anyway.

      Indeed, memory upgrade prices are tough to swallow. Seems like this computer will be a great upgrade for you!

      Sounds like I am on the exact same laptop you are. But the way I am viewing it is I got almost 10 years with little issue, so I'm willing to spend more to get a few extra years out of my system while getting more performance today.

    Will I be fine with gaming on the 14’? Or will the better air flow on the 16 make a huge difference? I’m going to have it connected to an external monitor so I’m not worrying about size.

    What kind of monitor are you using?

    Would you recommend to buy M1 pro 16gb or 32gb(not max). Mainly for heavy multitasking and coding. Perhaps running windows 11 parallels.

      If your use case requires dedicating a lot of ram to the virtual machine, then it might be worth to go 32GB. However, I do think its an expensive upgrade, so if you aren't sure if you need it, perhaps try the 16GB first from a place with a good return policy and then exchange it if it doesn't work for you.

    Hi! I’m an architecture student, which one would you recommend? I’m looking forward to buy the 14’ but not sure if the base model M2 Pro chip would be enough.

      I'm not familiar with what kind of software you'd be using in architectural studies, but I'd suggest getting a cheaper base model first from a place with a good return policy and trying it out yourself to see if it will meet your needs. If it doesn't, then return it and get something more powerful.

    I'm an editor, and just wanted to know if getting the base model of the 14inch 10cpu and 16gpu 16 ram 512 storage is good option or just wait it out and go for the 16 base, ofcourse the issues here is the price but would it make a difference, I'm ok with the 14inch display and speakers etc just wanted to know about the internals if they would make a difference.

    • @MutePCdotcom
      @MutePCdotcom  Год назад +1

      I would generally recommend sticking with the base model unless you KNOW you need an upgrade for a specific reason. Perhaps you can buy from a place with a good return policy so you can try out the base model and see if it suits your needs?

    please correct me if I'm wrong; the max # external monitors drives me to only choose M1max. so what's the negatives of m1max on 14" ?

    • @MutePCdotcom
      @MutePCdotcom  Год назад +1

      Mainly that you won't be able to get as much performance out of the Max on 14" compared to 16". Otherwise, choosing it for the monitor support seems like a fine reason.

    Great comparison! I think I will go to M2 Max 96gb model, I need more ram for software development but 16" is too heavy for me.

      Going Max with the 14" if you need the RAM but hate the weight could be a great reason. Hope it will serve your needs well!

    I have a question, is there any big difference in chip processor - 10c CPU 16c GPU vs 12c CPU 19c GPU ??
    I’m a sale funnel expert and I do web dev , canva and multiple tabs with PAID ads etc
    Just want to know whether the 10c CPU 16c GPU enough ?
    Thanks for sharing your feedback, I'm planning to go for MBP 14’ m2 Pro 32GB RAM
