It must be said that the 16 has decidedly better speakers, furthermore it basically has more cores and is therefore slightly more efficient, furthermore having larger internal fans it can be pushed further without excessive fears.
Great video, thanks for your take on the 14 vs 16! I went for the 14" but I'm actually getting wrist strain and palm pain whenever using it on my lap. The sharp edges on the front of the laptop are digging into the flesh of my palm when I am just using the trackpad to scroll/surf. I'm curious whether the 16's larger trackpad and palm rest areas would be more ergonomic.
Thank you! I do agree, the 14” could be a long term adjustment because it’s a smaller laptop, it might feel a little squished if you’re using it for a long time. I find that I don’t have ergonomic issues with my 16” and i would edit on it for many hours at a time. I would suggest if using an external monitor with your 14” if that is an option. I still love how portable a 14” is but I could understand the wrist and palm strain as a long term adjustment too.
@paralelmind I ended up exchanging the 14" for the 16" and that did help a little. The 16" is just as sharp, but since the trackpad is so large, there's just enough room to rest your whole palm on top of the laptop and still have enough room near the top and left of the trackpad. My muscle memory always wants to rest my wrist against the edge though, but I'm trying to train myself out of doing that because it's better for your wrists to keep them straight for long periods of computer work. I started using a monitor and separate keyboard and mouse a lot more, too. I will say that the heft of the 16" is very noticeable after using the 14" for two weeks. The 14" felt like a thin slate compared to the big boy, but in the end, I wanted the larger screen, better speakers, and longer battery.
I have 14” but I would love to have your combo. Sometimes I think to just buy 16” and keep 14” for portability. What do you say ?? Or 16” inch and MacBook Air is better combination?
@@manalipatel13 I personally would not waste money on having the 14' and the 16' I think the better combo is deff with the M2 Air because its the thinnest and its an M2 which beats the 14' automatically for portability. The 14' is cool but why not have the bigger better screen with the 16' plus the speakers on the 16' are INSANE. bigger Screen and speaker is mainly why I ignored the 14'. Don't buy 2 pros. total waste. if you do a combo grab the M2 air. Don't let apple bend you over for 2 pros that's crazy. unless you doing some Major Tech work that's home setup like this girl in the vid.
@@MostDopeVisuals I totally understand what you are saying and that’s what I probably would go for. It doesn’t make sense to have 2 pros. I had that thought only because I already have 14” and I will have to get rid of it and buy the beautiful 16” and of course M2 Air for on the go! Thanks for making it clear for me!
@@manalipatel13 No problem! I haven't touched my 16' in 3 days just because I been pulling out the m2 Air since it's so portable. It would deff be Idea for airport delays also. Sell the 14' and buy that 16' & M2 you won't regret it. plus it's very affordable the M2.
For a new cs student, should you get M1 Pro 16 (16gb ram, 1tb ssd) for $1900 or m2 pro base 14 for $1800? Both are brand new and those does not include apple care. Any suggestion pls
Awesome! I find that the 13 or 14 inch is definitely more than enough screen real estate for editing so given the choice, I wouldn’t mind getting the smaller size just because it’s more portable. But because my M1 16 inch is bigger and is still performing well, I can keep this for a few generations.
Was torn between two and have decided on 16 inch as prefer the bigger screen when you compare side by side for video editing and viewing videos, I have my older 2014 MacBook Pro 13 still for mobile usage 😎
Nice! I agree, the 16 inch was also my first choice for the screen size alone but seeing the 14 inch now wouldn’t be that bad either simply because it’s more portable. Next upgrade!
If anyone here is looking to trade a 16” with a 14” M1 Max! Lmk! I have had mine in great condition but have been simply needing more screen real estate. I’m open to chat, exchange photos, meet, whatever! Specs: 1 Tb, 24 core GPU, 32 gb ram, space grey.
Extremely Amazing, Awesome & Wonderful Video by you! Your presentation was very professional. You were very well prepared & you are really articulate. Bravo!! 😉😉
Obviously the portability is going to be different for a 6ft male :) the screen and added battery is a bonus. At the moment the m1 16 and 14 are almost the same costs in the sale
Where are new videos?? i think she just had a dream of buying macs and edit videos and look that tech chap in geek world, but after making 3 videos all in vain
Thank you! It’s actually not a skin, it was my lighting bouncing off the MacBook 😅 however I would recommend D Brand skins, they make nice ones for MacBook and other items!

@@quazimoto5241 i see. Thank you for the info. Have a good one
The lighting in the video is impeccable. Thank you so much for the great content.
Thank you!! Lots of trial and error and we finally found a setup that worked!
I went with the 16' m1 for the better speakers and screen. For my backup I got the M2 Air Midnight for portability. I think it's the best combo tbh!.
That’s awesome! I love my 16” M1 but not gonna lie, the colors of the M2 Airs also piqued my interest, so your setup sounds like a good compromise!

go for the 16 inch because for a 100 more you'r egetting bigger screen which is better for coding and you get a bigger battery life.
Thank you for the comparison I have a 13 inc MacBook Pro 2022 and realized I need more screen space. I’m

That's right. Also 16 inch is only 1lb heavier which is not that much to sacrifice better screen, battery and speakers.

I like the 16", at least in theory! I like a bigger display, I don't use it for My livelyhood, I am an Old Geezer and just like what I like!
I also like the 16” mainly because of the larger screen size, I don’t have the best eyes so it definitely helps!
