I think it's that TSMC has changed their 5NM proces. So it is specifically the 2nd generation of TSMC's 5NM process. How much they've changed it, or what it may mean I don't know. Maybe it's mostly PR to distract from the fact, that it's not their 3NM process.
It’s still ARMv8.5. Look for ARMv9 in possibly the M3 as it would likely be a major redesign of the chip. And if I’m reading the tea leaves correctly, Apple is doing their own Tick-Tock approach with a chip redesign, then improvements on the design. Unlike Intel’s original Tick-Tock, I imagine that fab improvements will be taken as they’re available rather than aligned with any part of the cycle, since fab improvements are likely to be available with each new chip revision. You can sort of game on it. While i have the loaded m1 max 16 inch, I can do some gaming on the side with about 40 games including Metro Exodus and series, Bioshock remastered one and two, No man's sky, Dues ex, Cuphead, Tomb raider series, Dying light, Dirty rally, Mad max, Layer of Fear, Hades, Resident Evil Village, Frost punk, civ 6, Total war series, Subnautica, super hot, Thief, Borderlands 2 and 3, Psychonauts 2, Sleeping Dogs, Baldur's Gate 3, Divinity Original Sin 2, Disco Elysium, Alien Isolation, Hades, Soma, Super Hot, Tunic and etc.... Death Stranding director's cut is coming in a month or so... Not that many games but for a casual like myself who play games once in a while, I bought all these games and play them occasionally. The good thing is most of them play well. Add crossover and now the Game Porting Kit by Apple and you can play all types of PC games. Too bad there are only a few native titles without Rosetta. Baldur's gate 3 runs ultra settings at 120 fps in 4k. The m1 chip, especially the max is capable but games need to be specially optimized to really shine.

Wish I could game on it lol
So if it’s beastier then when you are using it are you then performing beastiality ? 😂🤣😂
Greetings from nz 😎🎸🤘
😂👀🤷🏻♂️
My 18 core iMac Pro destroys my M1 stuff hands down
When did Brian not recommend buying an Apple product?
When it’s a Bad Apple?
That YES!... sounds bias lol I don't believe you
I have enough gigs on my M1. I will not be upgrading to M2
le go le go le go!
I suppose nobody cares for benchmarks vs latest intel/amd/nvidia hardware ... /sarcasm
What kind of anomalous shite is this, Tong? Make a video with real world tests that are fair, relevant and not agenda driven? I mean, c'mon now, this is just ridiculous.
Lol; in all seriousness though, thank you for an outstanding, helpful video posted in time for us to make a purchasing decision before the product hits store shelves. I understand you've had the device early, but not early enough such that making a video this comprehensive was not a crap ton of work. So, at least from me, it is much appreciated. Have a great night.
Wait? I'm confused my your first statement...The tests are the tests they are true to my experience of how I use the machine and is a point of reference people can use.
@@briantong It doesn't come through in text, which is my fault, but I was being sarcastic. I was saying that many Apple reviewers cherry pick certain test results and do things like fill up the ssd before testing a certain machine to make results look worse in order to drive an agenda. My point was that you do not do that.
A laptop gamer like ASUS ROG STRIX SCAR 18 will always be more powerful than any Mac Book Pro. Mac Books Pro not even can run new gen video games.
If you unplug a gaming laptop the performance disintegrates
😂😂lo clásico esta es la mejor que a echo la apple 😂😂
Upgrade only if you are a “PRO” wannabe PRO’s don’t count.
