My Aunty Rene Lacey was a cook with Tony's mum at Caerau Infants, Ely, Cardiff and she asked all us family to buy his record. Which we all did. Fantastic original track by Tony which takes me back 👍
The thing about this record is the sheer joy and happy upbeat style which really gets to you and lets face it is truly wonderful.I was really into the disco scene 70's, early 80's ( and still am).You dont forget records like this which had such an impact on the scene back then.
Totaly fantastic song from the 70s disco era... Absolutely brilliant.. No razzmatazz just top beat music.. And a guy speaking his heart out about liking somebody... Top song then and stil great now 2023...
This is so good. Always loved it. So underated and forgotten by the main pack. It's right up there for me along with a couple of other soul dance records not heard or in the mainstream ...Jimmy Ruffin - Tell me what you want & Alfie Davison - Love is a serious business.
JT ..Yes, totally agree... it should have been, I think its probably because there were so many good uptempo songs that really made it big then and good for dancing like this , unlike now were you get 1 reasonable song every blue moon (if your lucky). I still miss those great 70's disco hits and the atmosphere in the clubs back then.Today's stuff fades into insignificance by comparison.
The only version any others pale into insignificance - written and performed by a man from Cardiff , a British production that still stands the test of time which says it all from the 1977 period .
Never knew this existed. Incredible. Why didnt this get the airplay back in 77?? Deserved to be top ten. Loved phil fearons version but this is the original; phil obviously knew there was no need to change it at all. Tony - power to you sir!!!
Though probably better known by Phil Fearon, of which i have a copy. To me,Tony Etoria is still the best . It has a melancholy edge to it. Tres emotional! Got a copy on GTO.
@@cavanman06 It reached number 21 on 4th June 1977 in the UK charts. A lot of the 18 ILR (commercial) stations played it and got it there. Radio 1 didn't push it enough.
Don't agree. The Phil Fearon version is almost identical, the only real difference being the 80s beats rather than the 70s strings. Most of us would never have heard the song but for the cover.
Met Tony at his studio (now demolished) in Cardiff, Wales, UK - Famous Studios, in 1994 when I band I was managing recorded there. Top guy!

My dad was a friend to Tony, I remember him from the 60s, before this was released. Lovely man, and this is such a great song
This was released in the UK in 1977, I remember being at fairground when I first heard it
I remember dancing to this in Xanadu club in Cardiff in the 70s
Take me back to those magical times
Cool Even in 2023
Ehhh sweet baby ...❤❤ Quel morceau..je m'en lasserai jamais
Underated classic
Fantastic!
The atmosphere: Typically 70's. Has someone a time machine...back to this times? With the HiFi Equipment of nowadays....

Brilliant.
The best version by far.

I think it did get airplay on several ILR stations in 1977.
It got loads in the clubs. It's an anthem.

Sounds like Mick Hucknel
There's one person that doesn't know good music when they hear it
Thought this were Mick Hucknel at first
Original and best version. Phil Fearon’s take doesn’t come near!
