    Hi, i have the blagdon 9000, its not my main form of filtration, i have a evolution aqua nexus as my main filter along with aqua nexus tempest, the blagdon is purely for the fountain, light and outlet to water feature, the filter and uv are just a bonus. Im having a problem with the fountain constantly blocking though, i clean the filters weekly, i did it last sunday and its blocked already, its algae growing from the fountain head and hose, but the pond is crystal clear, i have 2 very large 10+ year common plecos in there as well as the filtration, i just dont understand why its blocking every 3 days?? I stripped it all apart sunday, cleaned all the pipes thoroughly with pipe cleaners and baby bottle brushes, the filters and white filter gauze was spotless other than a few red mosquito larvae and shells, if theres no algae in the filter, it dont make sense that its coming out of the outlet pipe and fountain?

    I have just changed the UV bulb and am having difficulty replacing the unit back into the pump. It doesn't seem to be connecting and is just falling out. The two arrows are in place so I think the new bulb is inserted correctly. Any suggestions as to what I am doing wrong??? This is the second time I have changed the bulb and had no problem last time. I do have arthritis in my hands but it shouldn't require a great desl of strenth.

    How frequently it needs cleaning? Monthly? Quarterly?

    • @BlagdonWaterGardening
      @BlagdonWaterGardening  5 лет назад +1

      Hello Dhiren, This depends on the pond and how dirty it is. However, we do recommend monthly cleaning or more regularly if you see the pump performance deteriorating. Hope this helps. -The Blagdon Team

      @@dhiren2306 Hello Dhiren, do you have fish? The reason we ask is that the biological filtration takes two months to mature and if you were to switch it off and on again frequently the biological filtration will either die or never mature to sustain the fish. If you do have fish we recommend running the pump continuously around the clock otherwise it is purely down to you, as the pump will help create beautiful clear water. So it's more of an aesthetic question compared to a life-sustaining one. - The Blagdon Team

      @@BlagdonWaterGardening I've been trying to find an answer for the same question for a month since I installed a blagdon 9000. No one I've spoken to seems to know and neither are there any answers from the numerous internet searches I did for (how often do youn need to clean a bagladon 9000) . So good to finally see someone with the same question and to have an answer. I have a 1700 litre pond with 5 koi and a couple of goldfish. all only 10cm long. I've been cleaning out the Bagladon 900 filters every day! So leaving it for a month seems ok as long as the water pressure stays the same. So it seems I don't need to clean it for a month! I've also been turning it off every day for ten to 15 minutes to feed the fish, as the fountain interferes with the water surface. So I guess that's not a good idea either according to your next answer below?

    • @BlagdonWaterGardening
      @BlagdonWaterGardening  4 года назад

      Hi Brett, There is no on/off switch as such. The device needs to be safely wired into an outdoor power supply. Ideally, something like our Powersafe Switch boxes would be ideal. For more advice on outdoor power, please do take advice from a qualified electrician.

    Follow these instructions to the letter to no avail, the windows of the pond are caked in thick green goo, cant see the fish at all, water is filthy, spent fortunes on uv light, new filter pads, really disappointing.
