I think Daphne was more disappointed in Harper betraying her. She knows what her husband is but she did share some intimate details with Harper, hoping to have a friend. You can see Daphne's mind thinking. And since she always does something to make herself be "okay" with his cheating ....she cheats too. The sick part is if Daphne didn't go to Noto and stay the night none of this would have happened. Daphne isn't a saint. I think it is far more sinister to have a long term affair and to possibly have a child with another man and pass it off as your husband's offspring. That is just vile, not just for Cameron but for the child too. But Daphne won't leave, she doesn't want to be poor. She doesn't want to be the wife of a trainer. She likes her finance bro husband and his wealth. She strikes me as new rich and probably didn't have much growing up and knows what she will miss if she left.
Great analysis. It’s amazing that we can dig this deep into the characters and everything is still consistent in their behavior considering these are fictional characters haha.
No I don't believe she stays with Cameron and puts up with his bullshit because of money. She stays with her husband because she genuinely loves him. She longs for him to be faithful and you could see it in her face on the beach how much pain Cam's and Harper's betrayal caused her. If she is staying with him just for the money I don't think hearing about his infidelity would have affected her that strongly cause this was nothing new to her. Though the betrayal was also coming from someone she confided in and thought was a friend it just made it tougher for her to deal with. She eluded that she has been in this situation before revealing she has no girlfriends. Likely due to Cam's cheating or him hitting on everyone she brefriended in the past. Also, the show never gave us the assumption that Daphne doesn't come from money or an affluent family herself. It would make more sense to me if she did. Because usually the more affluent, upper class, and richest people in society are the more detached from reality. Or at least better at detaching themselves from reality. In fact the show does elude that Cameron is either broke or is having financial problems. And Daphne is aware of this cause Cameron tells her that he only invited Ethan and Harper on the trip because Cam is in finance and needs Ethan's business to come back on top. Cameron couldn't even pay the prostitutes! Again eluding that he is broke. While In contrast Ethan and Harper are new money so they are perceived as the more grounded ones and not detached from reality yet. I don't blame Daphne for her behavior either even though it's messed up she has Cam believe their kid is his when it probably isn't. But as much as Cameron cheats on her I wouldn't be surprised that he doesn't have some illegitimate kids out there too. Her behavior even when leaving him for one night is definitely a game to keep him interested and remind him that she could easily leave him too. He missed her even more when she came back to him. Though she leaves for one night with a girlfriend to stay in a villa and he has a drug filled party with prostitutes while she is away. Toxic in every way but I think Daphne's actions were always her way of getting back at him and punishing him for his behavior not to be vile for no reason. I really hope they continue their story for Season 3! It's tough to watch but their characters are layered and interesting to watch.
i never got so invested in a couple of fictional characters as i did with Harper and Ethan, and it’s not just because Will Sharpe is incredibly hot, the way they acted around each other and other people, the way their life is, really made me invested with them, i could really see myself as both of them and that probably sealed the deal for me. 10/10 series, can’t wait for a new season
Dude exactly. I’m glad I wasn’t the only one. I got really attached to that couple for some reason and felt sad when the season ended. The acting, writing and character development there is truly incredible. I can’t believe how good this show is.
Interesting because I thought the opposite. Ethan was not attracted to Harper and Harper seemed very pretentious. What Ethan wanted was everything Daphne represented, someone who was more secure in herself and warmer. I thought that was what their affair was about at the end. Harper and Ethan are left saying, “where does his leave us now”? Maybe they work it out and maybe they don’t. It was excellent writing.
Brilliant review, Monika. I definitely preferred the second season over the first, however one thing that the first had over the second was that there were more scenes of the guests mingling with each other. I think that the only real instance we got was Albie briefly talking with Portia.
I think OP meant the main hotel guests having one on one or intimate scenes with each other. Like actual full on scene not just insignificant moments a la Aubrey plaza / Jennifer Coolidge Oreo cake scene
i definitely feel like daphne was more hurt by harper because she opened up to her about how she needs to cope with what cameron is doing. i think she expects it from her husband but not someone she thinks is her friend.
Portia wasnt my favorite character but she really did a great job interacting with Albie and Jack like you can see how overly smitten she was with Jack vs her almost passive reactions to Albie. It was brilliant to watch!
I got the thought that she was disappointed cause she is used to women she is friendly with cheating with her husband. She was hoping that Harper wouldnt
I'll miss seeing Jennifer Coolidge on the show, but hopefully she will be back for dream sequences or flashbacks, or even Tanya's identical twin sister. Greg's behaviour makes a lot more sense now, especially being annoyed with Tanya inviting Portia along, since it would be easier to kill Tanya without her assistant lingering around.
The easiest would be to have a prequel season with Tonya and her mom going to a White Lotus resort (maybe a last trip for her mom if she's terminally ill, and the first season hinted at how complicated their relationship was). Would be a great opportunity for an older comedic actress to play off Tonya's character. Would have been a perfect role for someone like Betty White.
Totally agree about a Daphne being my favorite character, which I did NOT expect from episode 1. She seemed so "simple" at first and kind of tropey but then we just get so much more complexity from her, while on the surface she never really shows her hand. Meghann Fahy say so much with her facial expressions towards the end of the season without saying anything at all and it's just fascinating and mysterious and so complex and totally believable. There isn't a weak link in the whole ensemble but her performance just stood out as the best to me
I find it really interesting about Albie being the nice guy. A lot of people have said this. I find the debate interesting. I didn’t pick up on that. Or atleast I did within the first 2 episodes and then I let it go later in the season. But I don’t think Albie is trying to do better to pick up girls. I think he genuinely wants to better, although, a little naive, because of what he has seen his father and grandfather do. And the scene where Albie is like jealous of Portia when talking to Jack. That seems normal. If he like blew up on her, then that would have been a red flag. But him just like ‘hey, I thought we were gonna met up?’ That’s totally a valid question. Hell, I have been there when ghosted by a dude. I think if Albie had like followed her, and kept trying to push it then it would have inched towards nice guy territory.
I agree. I also don't think him simply looking at attractive women means he's just going to turn into his father and grandfather. Maybe the show was trying to say that with this scene, but I don't think so? I think maybe the point was to show that the impulses are still there, but that doesn't mean that he really can't be, and isn't, very different from them.
@@isaacmyers3979 I think that scene where they all turn around is showing the impulses are still there. And like you said, him looking doesn’t mean he is going to become this sexual predator. This season was about desire, and everyone handled it differently. I think Albie has definitely become more worldly have his trip, that’s for sure.
i really rooted for him and thought he isn't gonna turn out as being like his (grand)father. but I think he did anyway; not because he looked at that woman at the end (although I think it is a nod to a direction that he's heading up to) but because he was willing to "sacrifice" his mother; his, I believe, trusting relationship with her, so a relationship with a woman for his own gain
@@freakingeek8505 oooo that’s a good point. I totally forgot about the mother. But also, he sacrificed his mother to help a woman he thought was in like really mortal danger. And when he got scammed, he was chill about it. Like, if Cameron had been scammed, he would have hunted them down, called a PI, etc. But yea, the mother, I didn’t think of that.
@@lol-lb5pm Looking at a stranger is considered harassment. Always has been. Even for a second. That's just the world we live in. Everyone wants to be left alone
I 100% dress like Portia on vacations especially when outside the hotel. It's like I don't want to get my 'nice' clothes dirty because I don't really know what to expect on trips and you can't usually wash them, but try to haphazardly match anyway. Her cuter outfits were all worn at the hotel, at the mansion, or when told to by Tanya. Very realistic choice.
The White Lotus and House of the Dragon were my favorite shows this year. They did not disappoint at all. I looked forward to every Sunday and now that they’re over I feel so empty 😩
On my second watch. It's so, so good. Not just the plot lines, acting, writing and breathtaking shots but the underlying social commentary is top tier. 💜
I think what’s interesting about this series is how we seeing the characters becoming the one they originally disagree with, in season 1 we see rachel becoming the trophy wife and in season 2 we see how harper and ethan becoming daphne and cam
@@Yeetuspoket oh I must have missed that. When does she say that to him? At the airport when she hugs him? I mean after your husband just murders someone unintentionally on his honeymoon, I think it’s expected to put your petty issues to the side for a few weeks until things stabilize no? I didn’t take her consoling him as evidence that she was done with her ambitions to not just be a trophy wife, though tbh, she should give up. The show hints to us that she isn’t particularly talented so being a trophy wife is the best deal she’ll get out of life. The only reason she has a delusional sense of her talent is likely because of all of the men who have told her so in an effort to get in her pants.
@@ThomasFoolery8 I def get your point haha, like after the drama that happened (the accidental murder) she might have some kind of empathy or whatever. But i wouldn’t be surprised she decided to accept being with him and become that trophy wife. Especially after the conversation she had with Shane’s mother. But i understand yeah. If she wants to be with Shane., the real option she has is being his obedient little wife and be happy about it lol. Or at least, make it seem like it
Tonya's lovable narcissism culminated for me in her final act when she dramatically asked a dying Quentin to tell the truth about whether Greg was having an affair. Literally the most ridiculous question given the gravity of the situation. I howled.
The last scene between Nathan and Daphanie was interesting. I love the acting as she looked after Ethan's statement that he thought their mates were involved. I may be the only one who thinks this, but my interpretation of Daphanie's attitude is we can choose to feel like a victim. Don't let jealousy control you. Find happiness and make yourself feel good. Choose to have a different perspective on what should be. It didn't matter if Daphanie and Ethen hooked up. She changed his mindset.
It isn’t really “jealousy” that’s the issue. That’s victim blaming as if an emotion of the victim is the problem here. It’s “betrayal” that’s the issue. Both sides are supposedly in monogamous marriages so they aren’t supposed to be cheating, especially with close friends which will destroy friendships.
I saw it that way too. I got the feeling that Cameron and Daphne live in a state of mind where ignorance is bliss. They don't talk about their extramarital affairs with each other, so they can't fault each other for it. They don't make accusations of each other the way Harper & Ethan did. Harper & Ethan make each other feel insecure & jealous, they have major trust issues & the only reason they stopped bickering about it is when they both got even with each other. I think Harper felt better about herself when Ethan was distraught of what may/or may not have happened with Cameron. Then Ethan only let go of his jealousy when he got even with her by hooking up with Daphne. Neither couples have the ideal relationship.
Thank you Monica. I saw the trailers for season 1 tuned in briefly because I am a huge fan of Aubrey. I wrote it off because to me it was a classy soap. Having listened to your presentation I will now watch from the beginning of season 1.
Such a great review!! I also loved this show so much, one of my favorites of the year for sure! I think I loved the second season just as much as I loved the first. I wasn’t sure if it would live up to it, but for me it did! 😌
Its so good i just cant stop thinking about this show. I cant wait for season 3. Anyway, ill just watch it again and i cant tell wich season i prefer. And this video is very cool!!
"Monica Vitti is dead" ... and "Peppa Pig" ... Valentina's character was great and if I were the manager, I would have separated Rocco and Isabella as well, he was truly distracting her all the time. The other great character in the show was Sicily itself, couldn't have picked a better backdrop as the shots themselves often mimicked an emotional state.
I think daphne was more disappointed that she lost a friend. Like yeah they can have a fake friendship for the sake of vacation in the future, but she can no longer confide in her.

Ok, idk if you've watched it yet cuz this is your first video I've seen (but I loved it so I'll be watching more!!) but another great new show Jennifer Coolidge was in is called The Watcher. The Watcher was one of the scariest things I've ever seen. It's creepy, horrifying, and really makes you feel bad for the characters. Imagining the psychological & physical terror they were in every single day....I couldn't imagine staying sane under those circumstances. It's really interesting & really worth a watch if you ask me. Oh, another fun fact - well actually not fun at all - the whole thing is based on a true story
Ehhhh… my current top 5 of 2022 1. Andor (I’m shocked but when you put Tony “I wrote/directed Michael Clayton” Gilroy in charge of something and cast Diego Luna and Stellan Skarsgård as the leads I shouldn’t be.) 2. The Bear 3. Barry 4. White Lotus 5. Severance The fact that a damn near flawless final season of Better Call Saul and Neil Gaiman’s incredible Sandman adaptation didn’t crack my top 5 is just proof that 2022 was an insane year for for TV.
@@cinemoniyeah it was great. This past calendar year of tv has been insane. Now I spend 6 days a week looking forward to the new Last of Us episode and Succession and Mandalorian are starting up again soon. Good times.
It's a very, very good analysis. Except I don't agree about Daphne. She is really NOT okay with the idea of mutual infidelity, and seems several times to have pain on her face when the issue comes up, and, in my reading, the personal trainer story is a proverbial fantasy. It's her kids, shopping, and her serendipitous love of life that give her the strategy to put up with it. She actually tips over when she hears about Cameron's latest shenanigans with Harper from Ethan, and that's when she decides to take her coping strategy from fantasy into "overdue" reality. Also, Tanya was oppressed by a narcissistic mother and grew up so needy and love-deprived that she has no capacity to give even though she feels people's needs. She grows up and becomes a mature woman first time in Season Two when she is genuinely concerned for Portia and tries to warn her without freaking her out at breakfast in the villa in Palermo.
Yellowjacket have a great mystery I think you would like it very good and spooky also I am in love with The Sex Lives of College Girls it’s a new comedy made by Mindy Kaling and is my favorite new show I will recommend it
i really liked the de grasso "we're sicilian" storyline its so annoying when people from the usa are like "oo im mexican my abuelita taught me how to make tacos 🥺" like no you're not lmao u are still from the usa u never lived there. also its so annoying when people from the states call themselves americans as if america wasn't a whole ass two continents lmao
yes!! i'm so glad their entitlement blew up on their faces, the fact that they didn't even bother learning the language was really telling and i loved that small detail cuz it really highlighted how (us)americans act overseas, and specially when they try to look for "their roots". however, on the grandpa's defense at least he was actually born in italy and lived there as a child, but still... he was too (us)american lol
I feel like it depends because my sisters were born here but both of our parents are from Mexico . My sisters know Spanish , eat All of the Mexican dishes . They identify as Mexican and I see them as such . And I can also say myself I was born in Mexico and came to the us at 2 years old and I remember nothing of there . Does it mean I’m not Mexican bc I wasn’t raised over there . Am I American because I was raised here ?
@@mayrav.4256 yeah, at least that's how i see it (i'm born and raised in buenos aires). bc you know, countries have different education systems, different products available at markets, even different ways of stealing. idk, i just think that in your case you're american of mexican ancestry, you may speak spanish, your parents might cook you the mexican dishes, but that doesn't change the fact that you were raised in the usa, you learn different stuff at school, we don't have the same issues as a latinx person living in latinoamerica. i'm sure you face other challenges, but u know, the usa doesn't like come and fucks up your economy, you don't have puppet goverments, you even celebrate different holidays. i think the usa has a very limited way of thinking about identity, very tied to race, when in latinoamerica we have more of a historical-geographical, even economic and political identity, closely related to usa imperialism (ie operation condor). that's why we have such heated arguments on twitter about the whole "why doesn't argentina have black people" (an absolute lie btw). and as an actual argentinean (in my case) i find it very annoying when a person of argentinean ancestry comes and goes like "oh im argentinean too!" bc in order to be argentinean they should face the issues that we face as a third world country, we may share foods and im not going to shut my door at your face, but it's just not the same. the usa thinks they're the centre and unit of measure of the whole world and that's just not real.
nice review ! i personally hope Tanya's spirit will come back to confront Greg ! i love to see Tanya again ! and secondly will like to see if Ethan and Harper finally become Cameroon and Daphne :)
Idk if Lucia and Mia should be given props - they were very manipulative and showed no remorse for the terrible way they’ve behaved! Stealing from a well intentioned Albie and then taking that piano guys job without a second thought
I find your interpretation of the final scene really funny because as a man, I look at it COMPLETELY DIFFERENTLY. So, my interpretation is that Albie has realized that women are not angels, you can't look at life through the lens of "oppressor vs. oppressed," or "man bad, woman good." That women can be just as manipulative, conniving, and ruthless as men are, and it's a lie to say otherwise. While Dom and Bert are obviously flawed characters, Albie, through this experience with Lucia, finally realizes this and then "begins to resemble" the men of previous generations, for better or for worse. It's funny to see that a man and a woman can look at the same thing and come to VERY different conclusions about it.
I actually thought this too especially because at the beginning his dad (or grandpa, can’t remember) told him something along the lines of “albie, women are just as bad as men” or something. I agree Albie really wanted to be Lucia’s saviour. I didn’t go into it in the video but I agree with you for sure!
Right they’re seeing it from the woman’s perspective and we are seeing it from the man’s. They’re willing to overlook how Lucia stole $50k from him because she was a woman so no big deal, but god forbid a man use his evil eyeballs to move them in the direction of a scantily clad woman who clearly wants validation and attention for her beauty. That’s a sin we need to harp on for days.
I'm a woman and had no problems with Albie. I don't think he's turned into his father and grandfather by the end. He's matured from the experiences from this trip. He learned that not all women are perfect angels/"wounded birds" that need/want rescuing, and that HE also doesn't need to be a perfect hero/angel. He's learned to see women as just women. Not perfect. And sometimes, yes, your eye will gravitate towards someone just because you find them hot/attractive (women do it too). But I do not think he's going to start flirting with every woman he meets like his grandpa, or cheating on his gf/wife and setting up encounters with prostitutes like his dad when he gets home.
@@vbrown6445 I agree with this. I’m cautiously optimistic about how he and Portia will progress after their harsh life learning experiences. And yes, as a straight woman my eye gravitated towards Adam DiMarco in all his scenes 😂 I’m no Angel
I watch a LOT of good tv, and I’m wondering whether I can rank it there as well. Before this, I ranked the first few seasons of GoT as my all time favorite.
Ya - all you said... When 1st season came out I watched it and initially said WTF! But I persevered & couldn't wait for the next episode. Could not wait for S2. They hit it out of the park. It has a great combination between fiction/reality/humour/emotion. Such clean well written and well edited tv with little BS time fillers as Oh soo many other tv shows suffer. Plaza was the character I was least interested in - her well honed over the last 10 years "I'm a b*tch" attitude is getting Real Old. She should try to act in the future instead of just playing herself... I love the fact that they were given lemons and made lemon juice. ie - how do we make a great show within the parameters of the Pandemic rules. Lock everyone in a resort-:) BTW I rewatched S1 - & enjoyed it more than last year when I first watched it. My recommendation tv show - goofy in a great way! Vikingane Original title: Norsemen TV Series 2016-2020
bro I was so confused with the whole thing with Alesio and Lucia. I think that I might have missed sth but I was so surprised when he started acting like that and it all turned out to be a scam.
It’s weird cause I know Daphne confided in Harper as a potential girl friend. (Or maybe it was to get H x E separated for some finance plans) and was probably disappointed that the ethical lawyer Harper. Who is against everything Cameron is in her line of work entertained him. That Harper would be safe as a friend from her husbands obvi flirting and interest - she wouldn’t reciprocate. But tbh Harper never really showed that energy for Daphne to me. Like literally not af given about her tbh. She didn’t see Daphne as potential friend at all to me.
yeah i never thought harper saw daphne as a friend but i did think daphne saw harper as a potential friend. maybe that's why it was so easy for harper to do ~things~ with daphne's husband, because she never cared for her at all
TV is honestly so lacking, template-y, too careful or trying too hard, just meh. There are some good shows - Succession, Breaking Bad, Barry. Nothing I would re-watch but still shows that I was entertained enough to actually watch all the way thru. I'm that guy, who watched Sopranos and The Wire about 8 times. Everything else was so disappointing because of the high standards these shows left. Fargo came very close, and I can watch Fargo and get super excited and inspired by it even after the 4th or 5th repeat (maybe not so much season 4). And here's my point, White Lotus season 2 isn't "the best show this year". It's one of the only seasons that made a guy like me EXTREMELY FUCKIN EXCITED. Man I couldn't stop watching it, it's just so so fuckin perfect. Everything from the premise, the extremely detailed and sophisticated and rich writing, the more-than-perfect perception of the writing by actors, the cinematography. Sprinkling Sicilian dialects all over it was just the cherry on top. Goddamnit, it's the best show in the last 10 years, fuck "this year" (after Fargo). That's it, that's all I wanted to say. I guess to each their own but I truly think putting it in the same quality level of other regular TV shows is just straight up carelessness.
Mike White is a genius. Although Lucia was the winner of season 2, Daphne was the runner up. Mike White uses his experience from the show Survivor to mold his characters
All the characters are so 3D in White Lotus. I feel like viewers come out of each season loving and hating totally different characters in this show especially, which is kinda how people are in the real world. Daphne, for example, was actually my least favorite character; I’m just particularly bothered by people who minimize what may be a crises to others (and who ask “what is there to be mad about anyway??”) Yuck. On the other hand, I liked Portia even though others found her silly and annoying. Hell, I even know a couple people who HATE Tonya
Haha right. She was the most annoying character from season 1 too, so I didn’t get why she was the only person to show up in season 2. Glad she got got.
"the white lotus is the best tv show of 2022" ... from a distance, my first thought is that the best tv show has always been sort of the white lotus. any year. enjoy your programming :)
Yea like… I know what it’s like to be something ethnically but if you can’t even speak the language or understand the culture, u have some work to do before you say you’re the same. You should humble yourself and learn from your people everything you can instead of being entitled. Too bad grandpa never learned it 😭
i felt like this season was about toxic masculinity and that women are still superior in the long run!! meaning that they have all the smarts and intellectual thinking compared to the men
I loved White Lotus season 2 since my family actually stayed. at the season 1 White Lotus in Hawaii and there were people that resembled the characters and a famous actor with family I see it differently. I love some of the actors on season 2 Jennifer Cooley , I love Theo James and was so happy to see him in this series. after Time traveler’s Wife. The chemistry between Theo and Meghann and matter his cheating they do love each other. I felt he knew himself better than in his strange ghetto let’s Daphne knowWhen he says toner the night after his first cheating to her you abandoned me .please don’t do it again. Noto to me was it worth it Also when he Harper says to her tag banks for putting up with me. I hope they are back in season 3 and something positive happens . They are just so good together. I think that the look on Daphne’s face was more hurt atHarper I am of an Aubrey Plaza fan and thinks plays herself. Theo James has a warmth about I’m besides his looks and he made Cameron more fun.Meghann Faby has so much warmth too. I would love to see them in White Lotus or Mike White another series or movie . I like your thinking.Thank you❤🎉
Honestly i liked the second season a lot more! I mean i thought the first was genius too, but this one’s a lot more suspenseful and the characters and their arcs are very interesting
i LOVED the first season it was a perfect satire of rich people and their mannerisms, loved the actors, however the second one was so boring. i didnt like any of the actors, no real characters..
This was a great review. But is White Lotus the best? What about a show like Andor? It's not even great for a Star Wars show (which as a property I could less about) but it's a great series period. Have you seen it? Because Lotus pales in comparison in terms of writing, execution, directing, and acting. I think this needs some serious consideration.
4:53 Really air quotes? Saying Albie is just like his father & grandfather couldn’t be more wrong. Because he turned his head at the girl at the end?!?
Please take the bg music out of these. Music is insulting to the audience and it's distracting and annoying. In this case it's especially grating because your audio quality is so low.
There is nothing wrong with looking at attractive women, whether you’re young, old, married, or single. Drawing inferences on Albie looking at her is kind of over the top. It’s not a Me Too moment no matter how hard you try.
if you don’t think the show wrote that scene as a way to say that albie has changed (he used to denounce how his grandpa and dad view women but now they all act the same) then idk what to tell you 🤷🏻♀️
I can agree with some, but really Stranger Things Season 4? Its not better then The White Lotus. Obviously the production quality is higher within ST but overall the writing has become very sloppy, and much more shock factor while teasing the viewers with callbacks from season 1-3 without really building upon any of their previous arcs, and introducing characters who add absolutely nothing and detract from the main characters plotlines.
Isn't Daphne richer than Cam?
@@Ljberkow I didn’t take it that way personally. But I will say Ethan confused me a lot as a character in general.
Brilliant review, Monika. I definitely preferred the second season over the first, however one thing that the first had over the second was that there were more scenes of the guests mingling with each other. I think that the only real instance we got was Albie briefly talking with Portia.
True! I liked that about season 1 as well
@@cinemoni that’s not really true. Lucia literally mixes with all of the men on the show and the hotel manager does a bit too.
the character's stories overlap all the time in season 2 wtf
I think OP meant the main hotel guests having one on one or intimate scenes with each other. Like actual full on scene not just insignificant moments a la Aubrey plaza / Jennifer Coolidge Oreo cake scene
Hi there, new subscriber, u do a great job!! Where do u see season 3 goin?
i definitely feel like daphne was more hurt by harper because she opened up to her about how she needs to cope with what cameron is doing. i think she expects it from her husband but not someone she thinks is her friend.
Nailed it.
Portia wasnt my favorite character but she really did a great job interacting with Albie and Jack like you can see how overly smitten she was with Jack vs her almost passive reactions to Albie. It was brilliant to watch!
Yeah and her discomfort as she slowly starts to get creeped out by Jack’s behavior was really well done too!
haley lu richardson is a great actress!
I loved how Lucia said that women like them get punished but in the end, they were the most blessed.
I got the thought that she was disappointed cause she is used to women she is friendly with cheating with her husband. She was hoping that Harper wouldnt
i was so happy about that
I'll miss seeing Jennifer Coolidge on the show, but hopefully she will be back for dream sequences or flashbacks, or even Tanya's identical twin sister. Greg's behaviour makes a lot more sense now, especially being annoyed with Tanya inviting Portia along, since it would be easier to kill Tanya without her assistant lingering around.
Yessss she’s the star of the show! I hope we get to see her again
possibly the best thing about the show is Jennifer Coolidge will definitely be in more movies and series to come!
Yes it wont be the same without her shes the best !
I think her mission was accomplished as a character. Killing her was the best option to end her story at a high point.
Tanya: "Who am I?"
Valentina: "Peppa the pig"? 🤣🤣🤣
Love the show! Cool analysis :)
fun fact: Dominic's wife was voiced by Laura Durn hope to see her I season 3. She would be perfect for this show!
Yes i hope so! Although the photo he was looking at was another actress :(
Totally agree about a Daphne being my favorite character, which I did NOT expect from episode 1. There isn't a weak link in the whole ensemble but her performance just stood out as the best to me
i know right?! she totally surprised me by the end, never imagined she could be my fave from the 1st episode
Imagine telling on yourself like this.
Meghann Fahey as Daphne delivered a stellar performance! Hoping to see her rightfully rewarded.
The White Lotus and House of the Dragon were my favorite shows this year. They did not disappoint at all. I looked forward to every Sunday and now that they’re over I feel so empty 😩
Check out Interview with the Vampire. You'd be singing a different tune
Literally same two shows. We have good taste in tv 👍
Maybe I missed something but how did Rachel become the trophy wife?
@@ThomasFoolery8 i think it’s because she just accepts it in the end. Saying ‘i’ll be happy’ to Shane
Or at least, make it seem like it
@@ThomasFoolery8 and btw yes, she says that to him at the very end at the airport :)
Tonya's lovable narcissism culminated for me in her final act when she dramatically asked a dying Quentin to tell the truth about whether Greg was having an affair. Literally the most ridiculous question given the gravity of the situation. I howled.
I really needed somebody to say this😭😭😭thank youuuu❤❤❤❤❤…absolutely obsessed💓✨
Daphne was definitely more mad at Harper lol
Great show! Jennifer Coolidge is flawless in everything, I first saw her in American Pie, She never disappoints!
She’s incredible
Thank you Monica. I saw the trailers for season 1 tuned in briefly because I am a huge fan of Aubrey. I wrote it off because to me it was a classy soap. Having listened to your presentation I will now watch from the beginning of season 1.
hope you enjoy it!
It was literally a work of art
i hit like and subscribe simply from the creative intro with the vhs cover. so much nostaglia hit for me :') great work keep it up
thank you so much!
Such a great review!! I also loved this show so much, one of my favorites of the year for sure! I think I loved the second season just as much as I loved the first. I wasn’t sure if it would live up to it, but for me it did! 😌
me too! i was so nervous for season 2 cause i loved s1 but it definitely surpassed it
Its so good i just cant stop thinking about this show.
You are the only reviewer who spotted the clue in the intro. Nice.
We enjoy watching your content, Monika. We all wish you further success.
Thank you that makes me happy 🥺💗

Ok, idk if you've watched it yet cuz this is your first video I've seen (but I loved it so I'll be watching more!!) but another great new show Jennifer Coolidge was in is called The Watcher.
The Watcher was one of the scariest things I've ever seen. It's creepy, horrifying, and really makes you feel bad for the characters. Imagining the psychological & physical terror they were in every single day....I couldn't imagine staying sane under those circumstances. It's really interesting & really worth a watch if you ask me.
Oh, another fun fact - well actually not fun at all - the whole thing is based on a true story
omg i don't think i've heard of it (probably because i avoid horror stuff most of the time) but i will check it out nonetheless!
Ehhhh… my current top 5 of 2022
1. Andor (I’m shocked but when you put Tony “I wrote/directed Michael Clayton” Gilroy in charge of something and cast Diego Luna and Stellan Skarsgård as the leads I shouldn’t be.)
2. The Bear
3. Barry
4. White Lotus
5. Severance
The fact that a damn near flawless final season of Better Call Saul and Neil Gaiman’s incredible Sandman adaptation didn’t crack my top 5 is just proof that 2022 was an insane year for for TV.
severance was SOOOO GOOD
@@cinemoniyeah it was great. This past calendar year of tv has been insane. Now I spend 6 days a week looking forward to the new Last of Us episode and Succession and Mandalorian are starting up again soon.
Good times.
LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS SEASON
Lucia and Mia are my faves and of course, Tanya! Jen Coolidge is an ICON!!!
While I love Portia's actress the scene where the grandpa fell, her acting was hilarious
Love your content! Keep it going!
thank you!!
Have you tried Fargo? Excellent too
Yellowjacket have a great mystery I think you would like it very good and spooky also I am in love with The Sex Lives of College Girls it’s a new comedy made by Mindy Kaling and is my favorite new show I will recommend it
whoops I meant Yellowjackets
Thanks for the recommendations!💖
i really liked the de grasso "we're sicilian" storyline its so annoying when people from the usa are like "oo im mexican my abuelita taught me how to make tacos 🥺" like no you're not lmao u are still from the usa u never lived there. also its so annoying when people from the states call themselves americans as if america wasn't a whole ass two continents lmao
yes!! i'm so glad their entitlement blew up on their faces, the fact that they didn't even bother learning the language was really telling and i loved that small detail cuz it really highlighted how (us)americans act overseas, and specially when they try to look for "their roots". however, on the grandpa's defense at least he was actually born in italy and lived there as a child, but still... he was too (us)american lol
They say that because United Statesian sounds crazy.
To be fair, the USA pretty much owns the Americas much less the world, so they get away with it.
So what should we call ourselves if not Americans?
nice review ! i personally hope Tanya's spirit will come back to confront Greg ! i love to see Tanya again ! and secondly will like to see if Ethan and Harper finally become Cameroon and Daphne :)
i really wanna know too! hopefully they'll appear in next season
Idk if Lucia and Mia should be given props - they were very manipulative and showed no remorse for the terrible way they’ve behaved! Stealing from a well intentioned Albie and then taking that piano guys job without a second thought

thank you!
Better call Saul, Barry, severance; the boys, the bear are all better but this show is top ten for sure
Lesss enjoy the video instead of world cup 😂❤
😂🙌🏼
I was obsessed with this show but I will put it at 2nd best show for the year behind Severance.
It is the best show on TV. Both seasons. I don’t want to watch anything else. It’s a complete work of art.
100% white lotus is the best show of all time
I watch a LOT of good tv, and I’m wondering whether I can rank it there as well. Before this, I ranked the first few seasons of GoT as my all time favorite.
Absolutely not
Let’s not get carried away 😂
Lock everyone in a resort-:)
BTW I rewatched S1 - & enjoyed it more than last year when I first watched it.
My recommendation tv show - goofy in a great way!

bro I was so confused with the whole thing with Alesio and Lucia. I think that I might have missed sth but I was so surprised when he started acting like that and it all turned out to be a scam.
I ADORE THIS SHOW
It’s weird cause I know Daphne confided in Harper as a potential girl friend.
She didn’t see Daphne as potential friend at all to me.
yeah i never thought harper saw daphne as a friend but i did think daphne saw harper as a potential friend. maybe that's why it was so easy for harper to do ~things~ with daphne's husband, because she never cared for her at all
Love the hair😻
Thank you🥹❤️
I'm glad Lucia, Mia, and Valentina had a happy ending after Kai got his life ruined and Armond got got
and Belinda got her dreams shattered 🥲
Did you get that slang from the wire? “Got got”
Same here! Was happy to see the working class locals come out on top this time
Hello Monika, I just to ask if you watched "Drifting home"? I know you love anime and to cry at movies. I really love this movie.
Columbus is such a great little movie
it's a hidde gem
I couldn’t get into the 2nd season right away. I was still wanting to linger on the 1st.
Someone didn’t watch Better Call Saul
People consider Tanya lovable? Lol I hated her
Haha right. She was the most annoying character from season 1 too, so I didn’t get why she was the only person to show up in season 2. Glad she got got.
I think she was disappointed in Cameron because he did it… AGAIN.
great review! have you watched Undone on Prime?
no i havent!
Too bad grandpa never learned it 😭
Check out Severence if you haven't already
i just watched it and I LOVED IT

you know what you’re absolutely right lol 😭
Close. The best show was HBO Max's The Rehearsal! Then the white lotus (season 2)
oh i havent watched it yet!

i felt like this season was about toxic masculinity and that women are still superior in the long run!! meaning that they have all the smarts and intellectual thinking compared to the men
My theory is that Daph will have an Ethan baby!
Masterpiece

Do check out AMCs Interview with the Vampire
I recommend I Hate Suzie on HBOmax
İmagine greg in season 3 being sad about quentin's death/carrying his ashes i would simply NOT watch:).

It's really more of the same. The only improvement is the Harper character, but her story arc is as overly drawn out as all of the others.

i LOVED the first season it was a perfect satire of rich people and their mannerisms, loved the actors, however the second one was so boring. i didnt like any of the actors, no real characters..
No. Is Disney paying you to shill for that boring ass Star Wars show?
Good
Do I detect an accent?
yes and no bc EUPHORIA HELLO??
11:30 ngl i don’t think that’s them. It looks like two gay service workers
I’m first hereee
4:53 Really air quotes? Saying Albie is just like his father & grandfather couldn’t be more wrong. Because he turned his head at the girl at the end?!?
Please take the bg music out of these. Music is insulting to the audience and it's distracting and annoying. In this case it's especially grating because your audio quality is so low.
how is bg music insulting to the audience?
There is nothing wrong with looking at attractive women, whether you’re young, old, married, or single. Drawing inferences on Albie looking at her is kind of over the top. It’s not a Me Too moment no matter how hard you try.
if you don’t think the show wrote that scene as a way to say that albie has changed (he used to denounce how his grandpa and dad view women but now they all act the same) then idk what to tell you 🤷🏻♀️
Ok boomer
It was an awful show. Every character was an idiot. I take no pleasure in watching people doing stupid stuff all the time.
that's the point!
The point of the show or of your video?
There were many better shows like
Better Call Saul S6
House of The Dragon
The Bear
The Rehearsal
Severance
Stranger Things s4
Black Bird
Andor
I can agree with some, but really Stranger Things Season 4? Its not better then The White Lotus. Obviously the production quality is higher within ST but overall the writing has become very sloppy, and much more shock factor while teasing the viewers with callbacks from season 1-3 without really building upon any of their previous arcs, and introducing characters who add absolutely nothing and detract from the main characters plotlines.
lmfao
@@earthjester stranger things season 4 is much much better than the black lotus
@@Triplestardoubleloss most of the shows listed are far better than the white lotus, low diff
