Bobby left at a good time to hone in on his skills and to mature into an adult solo act. Plus Bobby got on the New Jack Swing wave early with Teddy Riley so his Don’t Be Cruel album sounded more fresh and groundbreaking. Not only that but he probably didn’t expect BBD to happen let alone have the crazy success that it did. Ralph still had a respectable solo career but often times it like he got outshined by all the other members in the group solo wise.
Maybe if he did more features with bigger artist his solo career could have been better. But regardless of what happened, he still considered probably the best singer in the group.
