Seeing DMC2 Dante with his regular personality in this makes me wonder on what if Capcom made a reboot of DMC2 thus fixing the issue and giving Dante's regular personality in that game.
Personally prefer that Capcom makes DMC2 actually playable. The game is so freakin' boring since nothing really tries to fight back or actually challenges you.

No gauntlets too. Guns were op and melee was boring, weak, and uninspired because of the lack of variety of devil arms.
He didn’t really act like an edge lord in 2, he just kinda sleepwalked his way through that game. Like he has 2-3 line right at the end and that’s pretty much it.
He doesn't do anything edgy in dmc 2, he just does coin flips with his coin that's only heads, unless you're trying to argue that him pretending whether he does stuff is up to a coinflip is edgy
He wasn't a edgelord in DMC2 per se, Dante was more depressed and stoic about his line of work and it's seen in the DMC anime that happens between DMC1 and 2 where he often drinks his depression away And I can't blame him, dude basically had little to no family left, had his revenge but at the cost of mourning his brother again. Trish and Lady were there, but Dante was still sad where he didn't hold back until DMC4 where he met Nero
This is how demons feel when they get chased by Dante in regular basis. But serious talk, what happen if we choose 'I guest so' option? To be honest I never try that.
It's the "yes" option. You listen to him and get lost. Well, you can just go through the door again after you said the "yes" option to him and he basically said you didn't listen and proceed like usual
(im not sure if its changed in the remaster) Basically says he didn't expect you to agree and then tells you to lay low and never look back. If you go back the game asks "Will you break your promise with Dante and step through?" and if you pick yes he says that he thought that you had gone home and that you're asking for it. Thats when it proceeds like usual.
@@KazShiro Does either choice affect whether he joins your team later? My one playthrough I entered the endgame dungeon early and couldn't get to the last Kalpa or whichever one were he joins you team. And I think I went with the promise not to go further into Hell option and did anyways.
I don't know about you, but I think this is his best design ever, too bad it was wasted in a crappy game... So when I saw him in smt nocturne I couldn't be more happy, heck you can even use him as a party member, that's awesome

I realized how much better DMC 1 and 3 are when packaged together in the HD collection with 2. 2 can be a little fun in short bursts and if you really scale back your standards and expectations, but it’s good to see the DMC 2 version of Dante presented so well in SMT Nocturne.

It is a tad lazy but re-rendering a brand new cutscene and coding it into the game at the right trigger rather than loading the existing cutscene is a more significant amount of work than one would expect.. Most remasters don't re-do prerendered cutscenes.
The first time I ever played this level back in the day, I muted the audio on my TV, and played the "Yakkidy Sax 10 Hour Loop." You can't convince me that it isn't the perfect music for this chase.
I do find this to be more terrifying due to how lax Dante is compared to Raidou, and he's one of my favorite gaming protagonists! Post-statement: I prefer Dante being voiced by Reuben Langdon because he is Dante, and matched with the flamboyance of the character in certain occasions; as well as his personality.
I wonder if we ever have DLC where we play as Dante in this game, how he meet the Old Man and come to tokyo, how he survive the Conception, hunting and finding Demi-Fiend, inflitrating Mantra Base, fight Demi-fiend, investigating the Old Man, going into Labyrinth of Amala, playing cat and mouse with Demi-fiend, fight him again, and finally confronting the Old Man about his intention. That would be cool.
He's also quite optimized. None of his demons have anything except buffs and Life Drain and the occasional random skill. And two demons with Prayer, jesus. I know the Remaster has it easier to transfer skills, but that's just overkill.
The fight isn't hard. Dante/Raidou can hit hard but you can manipulate their AI with debuffs and at this point you have demons able to take on most of what they can do with demons like Arahabaki and elec/force immunity. Most of those are not available during the plot encounter.

Because Nocturne came out before DMC3, and that move didn’t have a name. Now that 3’s been out for years they just used the official name of the move.
