IVE HAD AN IS SINCE 2019 ASWELL. ITS A SH*T BOX RN BUT ONE DAY ITS GOING TO BE FULLY BUILT!!! I didn’t know or care abt cars until recently so I kinda tore it apart. But that’s part of the reason I love it sm and why it will feel so much better to build it up!
Got my 01 back in 02. Was my daily for 12 years. Now she’s garage Queen , and only comes out every now and then 😂. It’s really nice to see that the is300 is finally getting the attention they deserve. I get tons of compliments, and unwanted suggestions on what mods she needs next 😂 but I guess that’s the price of driving a modern classic
My parents bought a Silver/Black/automatic with 5k miles in 2004. My brother had a Metallic charcoal/black/Manual & his fiancé had a red/Black manual. I just bought a silver/black/automatic creampuff with 70K miles(oh yeah). The interior is flawless except for one tear in the seat that can be stitched. The black leather seats are perforated in the backs and quilted on the butts(lol). All of my families IS300’s had the smooth “sueded” leather. This quilted leather looks next level. It’s kick ass. Every square inch of the vehicle was gone over by my brothers Ace tech friend. Every bushing and oil seal has been done!😱😁👍 Just got a Cusco OS JDM Blue/Blue upper front strut bar. Found some kick ass 99% efficient oil filters from Champion labs called Champ XL designed for long duration synthetic oil changes I’m gonna decarbonize the engine with Auto RX. Got a TOTL USA made Nitrous Express nitrous kit. I’m just gonna run a 75 shot for now. 264 Stage 2 cams with an adjustable cam gear on the exhaust cam with 3 degrees of retard. Going to 4 degrees retardant can cause idle problems. The VVT-I is only on the exhaust cam. I decided on HKS HI-power exhaust last night(lol). The Greddy revolution is to loud. When I turbo charge her I’ll do a custom 3” or larger exhaust. It’s gonna be a sweet ass daily driven family hotrod. 🫡👏😁
I have OBX headers and Y-Pipe, and Revel Medallion Touring catback (the quiet model) on the car, and the sound is now my favourite part of the car. Headers to change the exhaust tone, a good quality muffler and resonator to keep it quiet off-throttle. And you’ve got a beautiful recipe. Just gotta be ready to put some money and thought into it.
thanx for sharing your honest opinions just discovered these cars after being into 1970s or older cars my whole life and am keen to get one of these or a gs300 so good to hear what actual owners have to say about them
I have 2 is300's currently. I enjoy the chassis a lot. I am trying to get a oem manual from Copart so I can swap my slicktop. I think everything you said was true. I have to get some buckets like yours though!
Awesome video man, been watching pretty much since you bought the car. I attended one of your drift events at thunder hill, my IS300 is black. I agree with everything you said in this video.
Got a factory manual sport design 2003 that was sitting since 2015. She’s back today Insured Hks exhaust (clog cats in header) Long tube headers Coulilovers. Intake I’m going gte swap. For sure!
Just subscribed to the channel big fan of the car and the fact your drift 💯🔥is cool I’ve been trying to get a drift car and learn it’s been a struggle I love the fact it’s a four door and more comfortable I’m stuck between e36 and 350z but looking at your car is making me rethink
Spent like 2G on figs suspension stuff and did a full refresh on my 05 IS and I didn't regret spending the money the quality of the stuff was top notch, spherical bearings and greasable bushings and lots of adjustments I recommended anyone willing to spend the money to get the figs stuff, really wanna get some BC coils to replace the ISC coils I have now, they're great but I wanna see if the BC is any better, brakes then power mods, so many options for the IS it really is a great car to start modifying or for a first drift car
Great video bro!!! About two weeks ago I finally bought one. I’m also coming from Honda (I still own a 96 Ek hatch) which I’m more confident in working on, so it’s a bit scary for me starting on a new platform for me lol
14k miles in 4 years? Ive put 40k miles on my gs400 in a year! Best and most reliable car I've ever had! I guess 14k drift miles is equivalent to 40k street miles tho. I just wish they made more (or more affordable) performance stuff for the 1UZ. But...10/10 I'd buy it again!
I bought my IS300 same time he bought his and I am only at 10k driven in that time frame, also drift miles lol. Mines is not my daily nor does he daily his.
Seems like between you and your IS300? You've matured, and/or have taken your skills to that next level. Call it necessity, or desire to learn and NOT give your hard earned $$ to shops? But I can dig your enthusiasm, and willingness to learn. Great video, overall, man. 👍
I disagree. This car is definitely is a sports car. If you look at the Toyota Al Tezza version overseas it’s very much a sport sedan even came turbo six manual and stuff like that. They did soften it up a little bit for the American version though.
brother I know this is hella off topic and Im sorry!!!! but where did you get you upper or lower control arms from for your 02 Toyota sequoia???? my car needs a replacement but please, because out of everything im looking at online to buy, I truly know I can trust your judgement when it comes to parts you purchase for the sequoia. please help me out, thank you because so far everything you've bought for your sequoia, I have bought for my 02 sequoia as well and their great
What cage do you have or is it custom fab? I have a fab guy who can build me a cage but for just a basic drift car I'd be OK with a bolt in and yours looks good.
I’d like to get one, but what about all the negative reviews people give about the car? Ain’t it more about what the person is doing to the car that messes it up? What about just driving regular
It’s good driving it regular my only issue is the gas mileage. I daily the car fully stock and the gas goes down fassttt 😅 I don’t really drive like crazy either just regular driving and on top of that it only takes premium so gas gets expensive
That turbo na 2jz is much more capable than you made it sound. Complete misinformation. You 100% do not need to engine swap an is300 for power. The main concern like you had mentioned for cost is a strong manual transmission.
In America they only came from 2001-2005. The 2001 was slightly different. They never came manual and had different interior and wiring set-up. 2002 and up were pretty much all the same. Any year you get would be good.

Bc isn’t that good go fortune auto
I don’t think BC is any better as well. I’m leaning towards trying Feal
Looking to get one, looking at different one with 205k miles but it’s really well maintained but might try to look for a different one with less miles

I’ve had mine since 2014 70k miles full black leather 5 speed 05 Red
4 years the car still looking fire
What type and color of paint is that, it's very clean
I like the sound
The japanese version altezza was campaigned by morizo himself.
Forgot to mention big duck clubs new widebody kit
Totally forgot about those!

You can always UZ swap. It's the underdog swap iof this chassis, mostly because it's overshadowed by the JZs.
What year is it 👀
Greddy makes the RS Revolution 3" catback exhaust for this that most people don't know exists.
