What an incredible panel. I found this so moving but also so informative and comforting. I could cry along with you without embarrassment or self-consciousness. I am almost ten years into grief having lost my nanny to cancer - a short but tough endurance of watching her fade away over a month in a hospice. Then six years later I lost my grandad very suddenly from an aneurysm. Absolutely fine in the afternoon, died hours later. So two different forms of loss to deal with. I agree time is a healer but I am still navigating it today. Thank you so much for sharing x x

Thank you for sharing! My mum has recently been diagnosed with a incurable cancer and the future is often a little bit scary, even though we are at the start of our experience it’s so lovely to see everyone out the otherside and to really see no one is alone ❤️ xx

    Great job Misha organising this.
A couple quick tips from someone who does public speaking events for a living and coaches others on it:
    - introduce the entire panel right at the very beginning, quick hello and explain who you are and your grief story (you did this well), and then a brief introduction of each panelist. They don’t need to speak then, but you’re introducing them to the room, making them also feel included and seen and getting the excitement up for the audience to hear them speak.
    - Speak a hair slower. Don’t say “so” at the end of every sentence. Just start the sentence. You say “so, if you could tell your younger self something…”. You only need to say “It you could tell your younger self something…”. Practice this, it gets easier. Start practicing it in your daily life.
    - Engage with empathy. You’re pretty good with this, but the best way to do it is to reflect on what they’ve just said but repeating a portion of it back to them / the audience. Aka “I hear how tough that’s been for you. And I feel that whole heartedly.”
    - try your best to not have a vocal fry. You’re really good with this, mostly. But occasionally you get that crackle/fry and it sounds awful over a microphone and factually studies show it makes people lose interest.
