So many great games listed here. Threads of Fate was easily one of my favorites of the PS1 era. I replayed that game so many times. Funny thing is, I've swapped with who I liked more as I grew older. I started with Rue because dude was cool. But I grew to love Mint, and tbh... her magic is a bit OP sometimes. lol But Mel's Atelier. I can still hear that damned song in my head. I honestly hated that stretch of game. Everything else though? Loved it. Would love to play it again outside of an emulator. I still have my copy over on my shelf.
Yeah threads of fate had its moments but it was so enjoyable

I'm currently in the process of playing Brave fencer musashi myself, and it is pretty damn good! I'm about 6hrs in, but it definitely was worth my time thus far!
It’s on my list to finally play all the way through.
Since we're on the topic of Working Designs, it would be nice to rerelease the Arc the Lad trilogy. There are lots of fans of strategy RPGs. Vandal Hearts was another favorite of mine. Komami's Azure Dreams could be great if we could get it released again but without randomized dungeons this time. That was a weird quirk that was popular around 1998-1999; I'm glad it went away though
Oh I hate randomized dungeons! Definitely one of my most despised features! Those are all great games though!
So cool you mentioned Parasite Eve. Its on my list of games I wish they would re-release or even do a remake. The concept is just too cool.
Yeah! Parasite Eve is great but unfortunately I think that one is off the table. Parasite Eve 2 was done without licensing rights to the name of Parasite Eve, that’s why the 3rd birthday wasn’t called Parasite Eve 3.
That being said I’m hoping something can be done.
Thank you for sharing these under rated RPGs I have most of these I hear no one talks about Wilds Arms , Vagrant Story, Jade Cocoon, Beyond the Beyond I think these should get some attention and oh Valkyrie Profile the OG one on PS1 too
Wild arms is one of my favorite series, but other than Valkyrie profile I haven’t played most of those
@@Shinky Wild Arms 2 was my very first RPG when I got the PS1 and also on of my favorite series next to the Grandia series. Valkyrie Profile plays a lot like the Tales games in a way and it's an Enix game as well

Yeah its really strange that a lot of these companies aren't just catering fanservice to their playerbase. A lot of games from this era of games would love to see a lot of these games remade and I bet the returns would probably be better that what theyre spending on multimillion dollar AAA games atm. Star Ocen Second Story R is a perfect example of how and old playstation game can be remade and still be fun.
Star ocean second story R was such a good remake. Who knows maybe these companies will realize that their old games are still loved
Second video in a row that I have watched and funny enough, I am happy to say I already own most of these Cib as well. Again, two I am missing. Brave Fencer Musashi and Threads of Fate. I am definitely interested in Brave Fencer Musashi and have some interest in Threads of Fate. That one always seemed like a low tier rpg for the system but idk, I guess I need to track it down and give it a chance. I get that you want these on newer systems but in my opinion outside of the price barrier, playing these on original hardware makes them shine. I have a set of HD Retrovision Component cables hooked up to my PS1 and to a Crt and the visuals are incredible. Everything blends properly and plays at the resolution these games were made for. I have played some of the PS1 remasters they did for Switch and No thanks, I’ll stick to the originals and the original hardware.
The accessibility is the main reason I want them. Unless you can have a dedicated space for retro consoles, hooking and unhooking them can get cumbersome.
I get your point though, it’s also incredibly expensive to buy retro games these days. The retro gaming market makes me sad!

Yeah every breath of fire is standalone. If you have a chance you absolutely should play it. The whole series is pretty good but 1 is incredibly basic, 3 and 4 are my faves.
Also if you’re into fishing mini games you can catch a whale so that’s always a fun time!

I'm so tired of dragging out my ps3 to play Breath of fire 3 and 4. Honestly ports are the least capcom could give us.
They don’t even have to be remasters! My big thing is having these things available on current hardware

I purposely didn’t mention vagrant story…because I really dislike that game. Its menu hell and every encounter ends up being trial and error with targeting enemy parts, causing battles to take FOREVER!
Koudelka is amazing though
@@Shinky and you are welcome to your opinion😊. Yeah it’s a battle of attrition and agree that it’s quite a steep learning curve and generally not for everyone

Despite how LONG it is DQ7 PS1 version COULD use it and I prefer it OVER the 3DS remake of it as well.
I like the QoL changes of the 3DS but I wouldn’t say no to DQ7 on PSN

Just emulate. There so many games they won’t add bcuz of licensing issues so just emulate. I gave up on the AdStation 5
