It's funny how an empty chair can do that. Walking into my parents house after my dad passed and seeing his empty chair in the living room makes it hit you really hard. 😥😥😥
Omg I started crying like uncontrollably! I just found this channel a few days ago and absolutely LOVE old days stories! Now I am in the rabbit hole n going thru all her videos and cant stop crying! Such a beautiful beautiful soul! Unfortunately that is dying off with the last great generation and that is so damn sad. We can learn so damn much if we open our ears!!!!
Same 100% cried over this and 2 other videos of hers. Shows how truly amazing she really was and watching all of us still watch her and her channel. Rest In Peace with the Lord Clara and to her grandson... please keep making videos on this channel.
The Republic of the Philippines How would she even come back? No offense. Hate to break it to you but once someone has passed, they can’t resurrect from the dead
trancelove1234 I cook like this now. My daughter told me the other day that ‘Mom,if you had a couple cups of flour and 1 egg we would have 1pound of macaroni ( real recipe) She’s 19 now and knew that recipe at 2
Hi am so grateful to have been able to know such an amazing human being Clara you will be so missed by many but never forgotten. May God bless you and rest in peace .

It was excellent!! Broke my heart because she wanted me to stay but my life is on "this side of the pond" and had to come home. I promised to spend next spring and summer with her so that will give her something to look forward to hopefully. First thing she said to me, in her southern drawl. I just started binge watching this channel because I fell in love with her. She's been gone for a few years now.. and now I'm sad. RIP beautiful soul 💕💕
I just saw the "Poor Man's Meal" and was preparing to settle in to watch more and find that she has passed. Thank you for preserving her gifts to the world. ❤❤
I am so saddened to learn of Clara's passing. I discovered her channel by accident this year 2023. Her legacy lives on through her family and her simple yet beautiful videos. Rest in peace dear sweet Clara.
I just found her videos, what a beautiful person she was. She passed on my birthday, November 29th. I'm going to see my Aunt next month, she is 97, I can't wait to see her. Rest in Heavenly peace Clara. ❤
"I wanted to share nana with the world because she was my favorite person in the world" 😭❤ oh my gosh. The wholesomeness and heartache all in one message.
I just found her today, then I find out that she's been gone for years. I cried. Just that quick she has affected me. Wow! I'm so sorry for the loss of this wonderful grandma.
I am so glad I happened upon these videos. Clara reminds me so much of my sweet grandma. Thank you for sharing your Nana with the world. My grandma was born in 1918 so I've heard those stories and just treasure them 💕
@@giannasawyer7466 She reminds me of my "Nanny".. What a wealth of knowledge they all had behind those sweet exteriors.. Couldn't even begin to imagine all that they saw and endured...😉❤
She was beautiful. Finding beauty and happiness in times when happiness was hard to come by. My childhood was mostly spent in poverty, but the happiness my family shared never allowed me to see life in a negative way. Clara reminds me of that every time I watch her. She makes me feel that goodness can still survive in this world. :)
Please, never EVER take this down! She is precious, her wisdom is so wonderful, and her common sense refreshing. I am still watching as t here are many shows I haven't seen yet.
I was watching her for years. When I watched this video when she passed I felt like I got kicked in the stomach. And years later I still watch her videos. What an awesome woman with a great sense of humor. Such a gift for her family to share her with us!
I watched Clara tonight for the first time. She made lentils, rice, steak, and a simple salad. I'm thinking about what Clara & her family went through during the depression, and thinking about what our Covid-19 world is going through now with sickness, hunger & food lines. I'm crying like a baby because there are so many parallels and so much uncertainty. But Clara brings me hope & comfort tight now. Her family was incredibly fortunate to have known & loved her. So Clara, long may you run on the other side. Thank you for cooking for us. Your memory lives on.
Almost had me in tears too. Just watched the dandelion salad video and when I saw she had passed away it was even more strange to watch. But so much knowledge. Glad her grandson had the brains to record the stories.
I just found her today. 4/25/20. That's an awesome amazing legacy to leave behind tho, if you think about it. To still be teaching after you've already left this plane years previous. And to know she had to go thru the great depression, saddens me. I started looking around for vids to help stretch, and "make something from nothing" meals (as my aunt's used to call them. And wound up coming across this absolute angelic gem of a soul. I know he's amazed at how may new fans this pandemic has made fr hs Nana. I'm in a sense, glad she didn't have to experience it.
But she also took earth and learned to survive here longer than most. She was a strong woman here those stars need to get ready because she shined so bright here no telling what she will become there.
Don’t be sad. Be happy that someone as great as her got the chance to tell her story and she lived a happy life with tons of people who loved and cared for her.
Yeah, but he's still allowed to be sad and mourn. She is no longer in his life and he will not see her again until he dies. That is sad. Losing someone is sad. Don't ever tell someone not to be sad over a death.
I found Clara during Covid 19 in March 2020. I'm so sad to hear she has passed away. Thank you for sharing your Nana with us. A true National Treasure.
World War 2, the Holocaust, Great Depression, and so many other instances her generation had faced as children and young adults. There are many, many of them with the most amazing stories and wisdom that humble you and fill you with gratitude and awe. But they have been passing on in recent years and soon we will no longer enjoy their company and all of the wonderful things they have to share, like dear Clara... so that's why we have to protect them and when all this is over, make sure to spend a lot of time with them. It's what I've been doing from age 13 to now (35)... from all walks of life and cultures. I have a group of 11 surrogate "grandparents" of that generation that I meet with every other week. When the covid-19 outbreak hit USA they urged me to keep coming to Bible study. I insisted that I stay away until it all dissipates because they're my precious friends and I don't want to risk their health, especially since our leader/teacher has an aggressive cancer. Treasure this generation. They truly are the Greatest ❤️
I've been struggling to keep up with inflation and put good food into my kids. I just found Clara, and I'm so very glad you're keeping her channel going. My mother was a child of the depression, and the knowledge of those generations is slipping away so fast. I'm looking forward to watching the many videos Clara left behind and I appreciate her knowledge and compassion. It's amazing to leave a legacy like this behind, thank you.
I'm a 20 year old male. I don't cry, I just really don't cry. But this woman, who I just got to know who she was, made me cry so much, so sooo much. Rest in peace Clara❤️
I am crying about this sweet lady I didn't even know. She has made me smile and really think about how important family is and memories. Rest in peace Clara.
Hello I am so sorry if this sounds weirds but you wrote such a nice and wonderful comment on here and I like your comment. I can tell you're a very positive person. If it's okay with you I'd love to be friends
Im literally tearing up...this is 2019 that Im watching this..just found her yesterday.....your photography is amazing too....and thank you for making this and sharing her with us.....
I just found her last night. Watched several and subbed. Tears streaming. Resolved to keep watching. And. Sharing. Praying more are Blessed and Learn. Joy. Peace. Long suffering All The Gifts she displayed.
You’re a grandson wise beyond your years to understand the value of the wisdom of our elderly. They literally hold the history of our country in their experiences. The pain on your face and in your eyes is evidence of the love and respect you have for her. I know it’s been several years by now but I’m very sorry for your loss and hope that her memory brings you smiles and peace.
She sounded so optimistic even when talking about her death. "I would like to live past 100 but idk if I'll make it. If I do I'll cook a special meal" I hope when I'm old I'll feel the same way about my death
Same! I'm terrified. But maybe if we do our best to enjoy our time, by that age we will be just as content with the idea. I have a phobia of the thought of death, but I did read once that nature compensates. That our bodies release a chemical in our last moments and we are at peace. I don't know if it is true, but I hold onto the possibility.
@@BeautifulMixedKids I feel pretty sure that everyone feels a bit freaked out when they think of the day they no longer exist. I've spent so much time worrying about it. Naturally I think it is reasonable to be freaked out by it. But I find myself believing more and more that there is so more than this. It will be like falling asleep. You don't know you have fallen asleep until you wake up. Try to think of it that way. ❤
This breaks my heart. I just found this channel. I'm sick, stuck in bed, sobbing over a grandmother I didn't even know. Thank you. I appreciate her videos, they're keeping me company. ❤
I completely agree. What an amazing, beautiful, intelligent, creative, I could go on and on, woman. Some ppl will just dislike anything, it seems. Maybe some ppl don't know what dislike means.
Watching June 2022, I knew when I saw how long ago the first videos were that she could not still be with us, but my heart 🥺 bless her beautiful memory
This is so very true. I just found these videos, I'm struggling to get by and I am watching these videos to learn how to make meals for my family. God has truly blessed us with this women's beautiful presence. Clara, I hope you are smiling down on all of us and helping us along our way.
Beautiful legacy from a sweet, humble lady! Just as beautiful at 98 as she was when she was young, just in a different way! Christopher, thank you for sharing your grandma with the world. She reminds me of my own sweet grandmother: Catholic, humble, sweet, gentle but strong, practical. Your grandma was and is a true gem! (if your grandma comes to greet you on your last day, you know you're headed for the right place! :). Blessings.
same! I just started watching I wasnt sure how old the videos were, as i just found them by happenstance, and I'm so sad to find out she passed away a longtime ago!
On a platform that is filled with so much bullshit, this woman was a bright light and a breath of fresh air, and easily one of the best things to ever grace the internet. I regret not finding her channel sooner. But that's how RUclips works unfortunately. They don't reccomend anything good. If she only knew back then that one day she would be immortalized on a cyber space known as the internet. Thank you for putting her out there for us to enjoy her stories, her recepies, and her beautiful nature, her smiles and positivity. Our generation could learn so much from her... May she rest in peace.
LiveLoveLift92 you should be as lucky and as well liked as this woman. You’re what is known as a hater. If you can’t say or type anything nice then do not say or type anything at all. Peace out on your Live Live and Lift! Not!!!
@@maclady Read my comment again and see where the hate is. Saying there's alot of bullshit on the Internet is not hate. it's just truth. Saying positive things about Clara is certainly not hate. So please feel free to quote my hate for the world to see. Only person being hateful and negative here is you.
The US unfortunately is one of the worst countries for not respecting their elders. It's a shame. I wish we would learn from a lot of other cultures who DO respect and love their elders just as this grandson did.
Just watched Clara's video that her grandson lovingly made & put on in her memory today...& I was hooked! Wish i had asked questions of my own grandmother, on my mother's side. I Only really knew her for about 3 years ...in my teenage years.... & ... as a teenager, I. wasn't that interested in older people. Selfishly. I really missed out on her wisdom & knowledge & the unselfish beauty of the old days... even though it was the Depression & there was scarcity of products, but, there was much love in families & they were happy.... To me. ...they had so much wisdom to give us. I sure wish I had asked more questions & learned more from my one grandparent... who was living for such a short time in MY life. Makes me want to be a really good G'parent to MY OWN grandchildren. I just pray I am....in even a small way. 🙏❤️🦋
I feel like there's some weird things happening on the 24th day of a month because I also discovered something that I will never forget on the 24th of March 2021. It wasn't this channel though, it's something else
Clara reminded me so much of my great aunt Gen, they were both from that generation. I loved to sit and listen to stories from my aunt Gen and to Clara's as well. I feel so lucky, I was fortunate enough to get Clara's cookbook and have her sign it for me too.....I consider it one of my most special possessions. We miss you Clara.
OhMyGoodness, I just found these wonderful videos as well! To her family I want to send to you our sincerest Condolences! She seemed to be one who kept her family on their toes and loved you so with all of her heart! Thank you for sharing her with us! She's so lovely and reminds me of my own grandmother, who left us OhMyGoodness 25 yrs ago now! Ok, tissues time! Again, thank you for getting to know her even know. And know that her legacy continues to teach many!
My heart broke when she said she'd cook something for us at 100.. It felt like she was my own grandma and that she'd really cook for me.. RIP Clara, we miss you.
just discovered Clara even though she has passed. Thank you for filming her as she shared her cooking and being. Thank you for keeping the vids on YT. I subscribed to be able to watch more and some more than once. I am a young 70 and appreciate Clara's being.
Same here....I just started watching her videos and wondering with her age if she was still here with us. I love her quick recipes. My grandmother Clara...Yes Clara was born 1913 in Ohio. Lived during the depression. Miss grandmas cooking and fresh baked bread with butter and sliced home groaned beef steak tomatoes. Don't forget the salt and pepper. I would help with the canning and candy Making when I was a child. Didn't care for canning pumpkin though.
Clara is an inspiration. She was so clear minded and bright. Thank you to her grandson who worked behind the scenes to make this wealth of knowledge available. You are a grandson I wish I had.
She made videos so we would have her when we need her most. Death is a part of life and she went very gracefully, as she wanted... But not before preparing the grandchildren she never met, for the crazy things that will happen in 98 years of life. She knew we'd all have our own "98" years. History repeats on many different levels, but dealing with it is age old.
She is 😃 from Heaven above! I often find myself and other's just go back and click on the video's still makes you laugh and do the recipes! What a way to honor 🎖 her ...
We will one day, see her in heaven! But for now we have her videos !! Tearing up just thinking about it. Joy 😂 to help when covid-19 virus and cant go it's good to have these to get through it. Be a hard years ahead! Economy will be bad. Can see it coming..
I know you will probably not see this since it has been so long since your last video but I want to tell you how Claras videos have impacted me. I am not Italian…but my husband is…to be able to learn these recipes and the Italian way of living during the depression has helped me tap into the true Italian culture at its roots and not even my husband has been taught this or grew up this way so it will be wonderful to utilize this food and history to enrich him and my daughter. I don’t have elder family and no one sadly knows much about our family culture like I have now been blessed to learn from your gma. Thank you fir sharing it…I cherish it! We are in such troubled times in our country…these videos will be used as a staple in our lives to help get through the countries food and financial difficulties as we seem to be on the verge of a depression now. Thank you again for getting Clara to agree to do these videos, oh how I wish I had these from my loved ones!
This is so true ,litte did Miss Clara know that people would be seeing her videos of how to make affordable, simple, tasty and fillling meals to get by on in 2022. Today August 12, 2022. I love her attitude when she said in the video where she was making onions , potatoes peas and pasta, Miss Clara was saying it was hard but we made it. I think hardness in a person's life if you take it the right way it develops you. I really love her Miss Clara's attitude.
I followed Clara before she passed away. My heart was broken when she passed but! her legacy lives on because this weekend I'm making Peas and Pasta for my grand kids! :) What I really want to do is make those cookies she made with her grand kids before she passed away! Maybe I'll get to do that during the Holiday season this year!
I just found Clara today and now I'm crying, I don't really cry at all but finding a random video of some nice old lady cooking apples with sugar on them and then finding out that she died 5 years ago really tugs the heart strings. R.i.p Clara, my respects go out to the family.
I’ve been finding many channels with very nice old people and many times I do not watch as I know one day it will end. I do not regret watching all of these wonderful videos. And I’ve watched this video many times over and over and even now on like the fifth time I’m still tearing up. I myself have felt many impacts of death and it’s still shocking when I find out even though I know it’s coming. She really would’ve loved to see the positive impact that she’s left to every single person who’s watched.
I loved Clara's little giggle. I love that she enjoyed most every moment of her life. I tend to have an on elderly female in my life. I think it is because I never knew my grandma's. They died young. Now, at 77, I have lost my older friends. I am so glad Clara passed peacefully. She left many good memories for others, and a wealth of good information. I just watched the Italian ice video, and I feel I have known her forever. You are so lucky to have been in her life.
I’m choked up bad. Crying. She is such an angel. Never met her but I miss her . My dad told me at his moms , my grandmothers funeral “ Look around son. The only ones hurting right now are the ones that are still alive”. To this day I still believe that. It gives me hope.
I found Clara at the beginning of the Coronavirus when it was unclear how bad things were going to be. Sounds strange, but she made me feel it was going to be ok. What a gem.
Oh Clara. As I sit alone in my office frustrated by this debilitating virus, I am so thankful I found you on RUclips. You have touched my heart in such a way, I am forever grateful for you being here, both in physically and spiritually. I am 65 and beginning to ponder what lies ahead for me. You have given me such hope in knowing there's a better place ... Eternity with God and with you and so many others that I've loved throughout my life. Fly free Sweet Lady!! You are truly loved.
Janet Gureski I’m also in my 60’s . Janet your not alone . Her videos are comforting . And I also ponder what lies ahead . But we like her be matriarchs . I will continue to pray for us all and for you Janet !!
@@maggotstudios4052 That's very rude. This isn't the place for insulting people. Have some respect for Clara, her family, and this man you are shooting cheap shots at.
Wow,I'm 68 years old and I have tears in my eyes. What a great lady Clara was! She reminds me so much of my Italian mother who passed away one month before her 101st birthday in January of 2016. Thank you so much for this!
Here we are 2022 and she still stealing people's hearts 🥰 including mine. I cried so much 😭😭 thank you for sharing Nana with us and for helping us all get through hard times with a smile like she did ♥️🙏
I just found her videos June 13, 2022. I was heart broken to then learn she has passed away. What a precious and uplifting lady. I know you're enjoying Heaven sweet lady.
No so much learning as remembering...my memories of cooking with my grandmama and now with my Mama are so very precious to me. So many recipes I know by heart were learned from them. The last few months has reminded me that tough times make strong people! I saw that in my grandmama and I hope that I can be that same strength for my children and God willing my grandchildren.
She brought a grace to the world. Thanks for sharing her memories with us and the depression history my grandparents n parents lived thru. they were a great generation. may she walk hand in hand w her Lord n loved ones. Vaya con Dios my darlin'
Steve Beane like you I just discovered Nana! I was looking for a Baked Apple Recepie and I Can across her. She made me laugh when she said she did not have the proper tool to core the Apple. But she did it. I tried it and they turned out great. Sad to hear that she passed 6 years ago. What a lovely lady. God bless her and her family. 🙏🙏
Chris if you only know the impact she has on the entire world to this day , you’d be proud of yourself for sharing her legacy with us. Truly a source of inspiration joy and humility
I have loved watching Clara and learning her recipes and listening to her wonderful stories. I miss her wit and wisdom. Thank you for sharing her with all of us.

Thank you for having the wisdom of what a treasure you had in your grandmother and willing to share her with us. She was a blessing and a beautiful soul. God bless her. She radiated, patience, wisdom, love and a great sense of humor.
I just discovered her video just a few days ago. It was the dinner that included the potatoes, onions, hot dogs and spaghetti sauce. I cook something similar with sausage instead of the hot dogs. I am so glad to see other ideas and embrace them into my own menus. Thank you and I look forward to seeing more of your recipes. Thanks to your family for sharing Clara with us.
I just happened to find the "poormans meal" video and I fell instantly in love with her. I'm sorry about your loss. It's clear how special and precious she was to so many, and she will be missed. What a great sense of humor she had and what a wonderful lady. Thank you for the videos.
I can't believe all the videos my family watches and this is the first video I've seen what a lovely woman I wish I had video of my grandparents. this is so wonderful...love the videos
I just found her also and instantly fell in love. I kept watching her videos until I came to this one. Oh my, what a treasure she was. Her grandson is an amazing man and truly the gold standard in how one should treat their own family members. I am so sad now, but also glad she had such a full and amazing life with family around her that loved her so much! We should all be so blessed :-)
I just found Clara's videos today. I didn't know she had passed away. From the two videos, including this one, that I watched of her, I felt so touched by her. I am feeling kind of sad now, but I know she is resting in Heaven. My prayers and condolences to her grandson and entire family as well as all who knew and loved her. Please know that Clara touched people who she never got the opportunity to meet, like me.

My childhood was mostly spent in poverty, but the happiness my family shared never allowed me to see life in a negative way. Clara reminds me of that every time I watch her. She makes me feel that goodness can still survive in this world. :)

Lovely lady ❤ I discovered these videos in 2024 and love them

Please, never EVER take this down! She is precious, her wisdom is so wonderful, and her common sense refreshing. I am still watching as t here are many shows I haven't seen yet.
When she said “if I do live to be 100 I’ll cook a special meal for all of you.” Omg I can’t 😢😞
it's okay. Clara wouldn't want us to be sad, she'd want us to take her experiences and learn from that.
Sicily Damara I know, but I’m going to miss her and the stories she told. It was like listening to my great grandma, when I was younger.
You’re a wonderful grandson. Thank you for helping capture these things and sharing her experiences with the world.
Absolutely priceless!
And the thousandth like for you, mate.
Yes, what a beautiful grandson
It's July 2023 and she is still touching our lives. May she rest in peace.
The empty chair intro was just too much. I've literally only watched like 4 of her videos. Why am I crying so much?
Rip, Beautiful Soul. 😭

Me too.
Here from 2020 just found her and so sad that she’s gone 😭

I discovered her after her passing. I enjoy watching them when I can’t sleep, soothing. Thanks for sharing.

Just found Clara today, and feeling sad too. She is such a sweet woman.
Now we all understand why Clara’s generation was referred to as the “Greatest Generation.” She embodied that so well.
The greatest indeed
Amen to that. A generation faced with such hard times where there was no choice but to learn how to truly live.

You’re a grandson wise beyond your years to understand the value of the wisdom of our elderly. They literally hold the history of our country in their experiences. The pain on your face and in your eyes is evidence of the love and respect you have for her. Hello Lisa, How are you doing?
She sounded so optimistic even when talking about her death. "I would like to live past 100 but idk if I'll make it. If I do I'll cook a special meal"
I hope when I'm old I'll feel the same way about my death
Angelic LIKE I have a phobia about death too. I’m terrified 🥺
Im scared to. But I think a lot of that is because we're young and have the need to accomplish. When we're older, hopefully we'll feel fulfilled.

This lady is amazing and I’m so glad I found out about her today❤️❤️

She lives on. Look how many years later we are talking about her. We so need her now.

Violet Minor me too Violet! I just found her too! I'm heart broken 😢
I too, just started watching a few of her videos! What a precious lady! I want to watch all of them!
Same here. My grandma's name was also Clara and lived 1912-2016.
'Wanted to share her with the world, cause she was my favorite person in the world... ' floodgates opened😭😭
Same....I am crying now...
Agreed. ❤️❤️❤️
I ran across your Grandmother a few weeks ago, not knowing she had already passed... Then I learned the truth. Thank you so much for memorializing her and sharing her with the world. I can tell what a sweetheart she was. This is so special. ♥️
I just discovered her a few months ago myself.

You’re a good guy, and I can hear her wisdom in your words. She must have been really proud of you. Thanks for sharing your grandma with all of us.
Yes, Christopher, you are a precious grandson and a good man. You have a sweet soul. Thank you for sharing Clara with the world. ❤️
@@wildhorses6817 He does have a sweet soul.🤗
I just found Clara's videos today. I didn't know she had passed away. From the two videos, including this one, that I watched of her, I felt so touched by her. I am feeling kind of sad now, but I know she is resting in Heaven. My prayers and condolences to her grandson and entire family as well as all who knew and loved her. Please know that Clara touched people who she never got the opportunity to meet, like me.
Crystal Grose U also just found this channel. Sad to hear that Clara is no longer with us. But we can remember her through her recipes and kindness.
Katheryne Koelker just come across her ...what an inspiration 😊
I agree! It feels like I am part of her family!🙏🏽🙏🏽
I found her today. And I found out she passed away. I didn’t know her, but I’m heartbroken to know the world lost such a beautiful soul. I cried when she talked about wanting to live past 100 💔
I am very glad this lovely woman had such a loving family and happy old age.
May her memory always be a blessing to you.
Don’t cry because she is gone, smile because she was here.
It’s bittersweet. I’m glad she enjoyed her last couple of years
Garrett Croslin thanks
or do both at the same time :)
man z, please take down that comment. It has no place here. Clara wouldn’t want stuff like that in her comment section.
this made me smile thank you 😭
