I am not baseball professional, but I am sure there’s some sort of team strategy that is going on in these. Especially, when most of these pitches down the middle are in a 0-0 count. For example, let’s say a team might have a strategy where the first batter that comes up, must have one strike before swinging. The second batter, must have 2 strikes before swinging. The third batter can swing at the first pitch. Yes, that is a curveball down the pipe, but it also gives the batter and other batters information on what pitches the pitcher can/cannot throw. It will set up the other batters for success. Swinging at everything gives the pitcher information on how to pitch against you.
the nimmo one at the beginning is actually really cool. he didn’t want to commit right away, but put the curve movement in the back of his mind. knebel threw it again 2 pitches later and he lined it right back up the middle to tie the game. that stuff is why i love baseball

First thing I noticed was the counts. These are all cases of pitchers stealing a strike to get ahead, pitching backwards
