    I’m 60 years old and like you, I’m ol skool. I have limited mobility from a stroke, and I use my good hand to carefully and gently pull my short hair up. Thank you very much for your video. Instructions were concise and easy to understand.

      Yes! I mean that too. You were very clear with the instructions, straight to the point, you explained why/why not you use certain methods and products. I can tell teaching is a gift thats natural to you. After watching this video, I actually came across the one you made for this style on kinky hair, and I'm natural and kinky, so it answered the question that was already on my mind about how it would turn out on my textured hair. Good to know the style is versatile. So yes! You have a natural ability for teaching and you're authentic, we need more of that in this media space, so please, make more videos! I was also checking out your books and will be purchasing. Also, your masks are super dope, is there a place to purchase those?

    • @onnislee1
      @onnislee1  Год назад

      @@natashajohnson2258 actually you know the books are on Amazon but the mask I made for myself due to me being a fashionista. I like standing out, so I design my own clothing. Remember this that the natural pineapple waves don't last as long as a process wave. Process last at least 3 to 4 weeks and natural last a week or two.

    • @onnislee1
      @onnislee1  9 месяцев назад

      My sister says the same thing. People who have tried it tells me it was pretty easy and it probably is because if their hair is black they use a pink net so they can see their hair clearly. And that's important for a first timer, make sure the net is not the color of your hair.

    • @onnislee1
      @onnislee1  2 года назад +1

      Yes you can do it with long hair. I would use foam or setting lotion and would scrunch it and lift it up in the top and have the back hanging down. There are so many styles with long hair that could be done and I wish I would have put the pictures inside the video. I'm thinking about doing another pineapple wave video with my natural hair and I probably would add the pictures in that video.

      For a better and longer lasting look yes. If you don't want straight hair then put a comb through on it.

    Hi Onnis. My hair is curly on top and straight on the sides and back. I am of mixed heritage. How can I relax the curl on top so it looks the same as the sidesand back? I am so glad you told your age. I am 65.

    • @onnislee1
      @onnislee1  2 года назад

      Is your hair soft curly on top like mixed people or Puerto Rican hair or is it hard curly on top as in afro nappy? You want the hair to be soft and/or straight so that when you put the styling gel on it, it would lay down so that when you lift and form the curl, you would get a better result. If the hair is afro hard; after shampooing the hair you would leave the condition on for about 10 minutes and get the hair soft. Then when you rinse it out, immediately start the pineapple way process by slicking it down with the gel. Make sure the gel is the black gel and not the pink, yellow or clear gel because it doesn't hold the hair together as well as the black gel. I'm thinking about doing another video soon with my afro hair without any process in it to see what the results would look like. I have nappy afro hair, however I put a comb through process in it to soften it up for the video that I did. If you have anymore questions just let me know and I'll be glad to assist you.

    • @onnislee1
      @onnislee1  9 месяцев назад

      For a clean part, don't pull up a row of waves close to the part, that makes the part visible otherwise, you won't see it.

    Where did you find the net

    • @onnislee1
      @onnislee1  2 года назад +1

      At a beauty supply store. Just ask for a triangle net. And if you can't find them at Sally's Beauty Supply store then try the beauty supply stores where the Indians work such as bargain buys, white diamonds, etc.
