A lot of are losing our hair for various reasons but two of them are ponytails and braids that are pulling too tight on our scalp. I would love to see more of these styles done in a more protective way or moving towards a healthier hairstyle. Thanks for continuing to provide great content.

I am by no means an expert, but i can't imagine that adding all those sprays and tighten that elastic so much are going to do the hair any good.

I have alopecia, too. I finally got tired of wearing wigs and shaved my head. Best decision I ever made. I love wearing makeup again. I have confidence back again and lost all the shame I didn’t know I was carrying. I love my smooth bald head!

I'm always amazed as hairdressers ability to make us look good but hairdressers dealing with textured hair are magicians! Y'all make these women look amazing. The talent and skill and EFFORT. Gorgeous work. My roommate years ago said she was jealous of my "wash and wear" hair. Seeing what she had to go through, I get it.

I'm so glad you chose to work with your own hair sometimes the hair need to rest from extensions and chemicals, I had to shave mine and start over I love my natural hair it grows without all the extra, enjoy the style good job.💕

I really like what you did with her natural hair. I have challenges with my natural hair because it is very thin at the top and sides. I usually wear a wig or braids with extensions.
It looks very nice. I like how sophisticated it made her look.
Good Job! Her hair reminds me of mine. Edges are gone, hair is thin, so what I did was cut it all off and start fresh. Bleached it out, now I am Platnum blonde and my natural curl pattern came out and it fits me prefect. It really hides the fact that my edges are not there, so I consider that a plus.

I have the exact same issue and have been considering cutting mine off but how can you cover up the fact that you have no edges when the rest of your hair is low? 🤷🏽♀️

L'oreal makes a spray that sprays psuedo hair where there are thin spots. It works very well and last about 3 days per spray. She could put that on her edges.

We need to stop pulling out our little girls edges with too tight braiding and baubles. We have the most fragile hair on earth bc of how the hair grows out of our helix: coiled. Snaps and breaks off easily bc of rough handing. Ladies be GENTLE with our hair!!

Don't you think she combed on that lady's here a little bit excessively . Too much comment is not good and she kept blow drying it too I know that lady was getting annoyed she looked like it. And to top it off the hair stylist puts a rubber band in her hair and a little thin one at that. Doesn't she know the rubber bands pull your hair out and that lady is there because she has thinning hair. Hello. What is that about.

I think it's the tight extensions and such that can cause balding. This way it added hair in a healing and creative way! Awesome job!

You SURE did a BEAUTIFUL job working with the restrictions you had.
If I may simply add some possible suggestions for her or any future similar situations you may come across. These suggestions I am making are solely based on the personal observations that came to mind as I watched your awesome styling.
I realized the reason she preferred the side swoop, instead of the center part is bcuz she felt the swoop will conceal more of the rather large forehead she now has and will conceal more of her already receding hairline. I simply noticed that by side parting the hair as far to the side as you did, it sort of gives the impression of an 'a la Donald Trump' comb over. I thought a better happy-medium hairline could be achieved with an OFF-CENTER part which would still conceal quite a bit of her forehead, while still leaving you enough hair on both sides of her face to work with. Either alone or with any additional glue-on baby hair pieces.
Two other personal observations I saw were that in spite of your stating that the back ponytail wasn't too tight, I couldn't help but think that maybe you could have still used the end of the comb to ever-so SLIGHTLY pull & loosen along the neckline hair. I could see that the neckline was so tight, that the skin on the back of her head & neck was being pulled, and stretched & lifted up. Looks like it will become painful and will be continuing to cause tension baldness along the back of her hairline.
I also noticed that you could have run your comb through the part created between the swoop & the back ponytail.
I did also understand why you needed to add a bit of hair to her smaller ponytail to create the illusion of more hair & a fuller ponytail. I would have avoided pulling & twisting that knot as small & tight as you did so that the knot would have appeared fuller & larger.
Just my own personal observations that you may or may not, want to consider using in any future styling you may do.
All in all, I am still VERY thrilled with the amazing style you created using so little hair.
I agree and I wouldn’t have used a rubber band but a thin scrungy hair band but the end result was absolutely nice.
