@@TonyTeachesTech That is okay. The title led me to think that this was going to be through SSH totally, which is why I made the comment. In all, I enjoy your content.
@@TonyTeachesTech You SSH into the windows machine to download the file then just execute it on the desktop, you then go through the trouble of creating a text file on your computer to copy it to the wrong directory on the windows machine. After that, you copy the file to the desktop of windows machine and open it to just paste the contents into a new command prompt window. This is after just telling us you were doing it via SSH. Hate to dance on your parade but you had every chance to make decisions before you made the video. A video that has the title "How to Set Up Chrome Remote Desktop via SSH (headless)" which is far from the truth. Would I use SSH to copy this file down to the windows box and execute it? Could you have used curl to download AND execute the msi? Yes. Could you have then ran the CRD config from your SSH session? Yes. There are better, faster and more straight forward ways to do what you've shown here. Hence my late night comment stating it was a little off the rails.
@@droy333 I'm laughing, you're right on every count, but I think for the average viewer for whom this is a new/strange concept, the video is OK. I follow what you're saying but a lot of viewers might be overwhelmed and tune out, and I don't think Tony wants viewers feeling like, if he followed your (logical, I salute you!) workflow, it would be over the heads of too many viewers.. and he want them to watch 'till the end, right?
Can this be setup to execute automatically on a Raspberry pi to use the Raspberry Pi as a type of thin client? I have several win10 VMs on my server that I would like my kids to be able to use without being required to buy a PC for each kid.
You could make a vid in which I could actually read the screen you are accessing. I understand I don't get 1920 x on youtube nut what you give me is useless.
This is the exact opposite of what I need... Why would we need to know how to setup the Google Remote Desktop on Windows when it is straight forward and there is a downloadable installer? Linux is the issue.
Than you that worked for my Ubuntu 20.04 server, and it seems like the performance is more better than remote desktop[Microsoft] for people who are on low sim data. 🫨
@cookiiking i tried on Ubuntu 20.04 server but it didnot work, i am facing problems, after installing .deb file in my ubuntu, the option to add didnot come in remote access, can you please please guide me
If you are going to show how to setup via ssh, don’t access the other computer except by ssh
The goal was to show multiple ways in addition to SSH. Sorry if that was confusing

LOL, I was thinking the exact same thing, still outstanding video, thank Tony.
How or can you remove the little box that says your desktop is currently shared… etc etc.. ??
not a beginner frendly guide at all ⭐⭐
Well you made that way more convoluted than it needed to be. Might wanna brush up on your windows commands.
Apologize for that. What would you suggestion be?

@@droy333 I really appreciate your feedback Troy and agree with you. Thanks for taking the time
@@TonyTeachesTech RUclips keeps deleting my curl command example. Basically add && on the end and execute the msi all in the same line.

Making easy things very complicated. Jumping around and difficult to follow. But thanks for the effort.
