Gawd watching your videos bring back so many memories of watching my sister do competitive gymnastics…especially the Arabian. She was an elite level gymnast being strongly considered for the ‘96 XXVI (I believe) Olympics. Anyway thanks for the walk down memory lane…I always enjoy them very much!🤸🏼♀️
Congrats to your sister!! What did she end up doing when it was all over?? I'm always curious about this one, my kiddo is a high level gymnast(training 32+hrs/wk with olympic coaches), whats next? What's next if she doesn't make it?? Will she miss the sport so much that it "ruins" her life or will she transfer skills learned to something else? Just a curiosity thing.
@@tammiehinkle2040 thanks for the message - unfortunately my sister fractured her back and you could pretty much say that ended her career in the snap of a finger (no pun intended with the whole snap thing😬) It was devastating; it seemed like she was so young & it was over so fast-imagine “retiring” that early even though she had had a long career. She had been a competitive gymnast for so long-you know starting as a little, little girl (age 3) & being so damn good-it was just sad. Once my sister was away from the sport she had the biggest realization-& where she was at was completely unhealthy-her coaches particularly her head coach was quite abusive about the whole weight thing & she had developed some pretty dangerous & destructive behaviors. Personally I think it changed her life & her personality forever. So while I can’t offer you a whole lot of details into her career after her injury I would suggest one thing & that is make sure your child is at a facility with coaches that are compassionate, safe & passionate about the sport but not to the point of destruction-I think a lot of parents miss those details because their kids don’t speak up & oftentimes their kids don’t even realize that kind of behavior is abuse. How old is your kiddo if you don’t mind me asking?
Onodi Sugihara (double Y turn) Kochetkova Colussi-Pelaez (aerial from side position) Back layout (especially with lots of height, it can be incredible)
Lay-outs by Chinese gymnasts, esp. Deng Linlin's. Sheep jump, when done right. Komova's was outstanding. Yang Bo Vlada Urazova's (and only hers) wolf turn Shaeffer-Betz
My top 5 skills on beam are: getting a chair to climb on the thing, especially at 5’10, then figuring out how to take a step, get to the end, then crouching down and leaping to the floor without injuring myself. But I have another skill that would give me 6…..finding an over 50-55 woman to attempt this with me….🦗🦗🦗🦗🦗😬🤨 hmmm….maybe I’ll just watch gymnastics for now.
I love the arabian and everything that Aliya used to perform! Aliya and Catalina are my favorite gymnasts! ❤️ (really acknowledge Sanne Wevers’ competence, but I find her turns tremendously boring 🤷🏻♂️)
I have never liked the Rulfova. It is extremely impressive, but it just looks so jerky and painful! Chellsie Memmel is the hero of this video, though. Lol! her illusion turn, when she hits it, is gorgeous.
The onodi is literally so pretty 😍❤
I agree, it's my personal favorite and my favorite skill to watch
Love how fluid it looks
Yes especially Nastia’s but they’re all beautiful!
Fr
Mustafina's double turns giving me life 😍
These are my exact top five skills on beam too. I also love the Switch Ring for some reason, because I feel like most people don’t like it 😂
Always a fan of the illusion turn!
The onodi is my favorite ❤️ so graceful and beautiful
1. The Miller
2. The Onodi
3. The Okino
4. Layout step out as a mount
5. The Valdez like it was performed in 1996 compulsories
I would love to see the Valdez come back last person to do it was Katelyn Ohashi in 2013
My top are:
Illusion turn
Sheep jump
Onodi
Arabian
Switch Ring leap 😊
Can’t agree more
Yep. With a standing full as number 6
The onodi is the most beautiful skill of all the exercises.
The onodi is classic and arabian always beautiful whether on beam or floor 😊
1. Gainer layout full (Khorkina)
2. Onodi
3. Erceg mount
4. Yurchenk loop
5. Switch ring

Ah, I finally found a Rulfova enjoyer.
Onodi
Sugihara (double Y turn)
Kochetkova
Colussi-Pelaez (aerial from side position)
Back layout (especially with lots of height, it can be incredible)
Obsessed doesn’t even begin to describe how I feel about rulfovas
I’m just upset that Komova’s Arabian wasn’t shown 😭😂
I also love the Li-Li although it's extremely rare
the onodi and the illusion turn have always been two of my favorites, so pretty and Chellsie and Nastia always did them both so beautifully ☺️
Just glad you didn't put a wolf turn on here
Ugh I cannot WAIT for the day gymnasts stop doing that ugly thing lol. 🙄🙄
Beautiful choices
Onodi
Okino
Yang Bo
Any gainer elements from Khorkina
Switch ring leap, especially from Flavia
Switch split leap with a full twist 😍
1. Teza
2. Ónodi
3. LOSO mount
4. Triple Twist dismount
5. LO full series
The Onodi and Arabian are great. Aliya's double turn is amazing.
Surprised the Schaefer wasn’t mentioned. (Half turn side somi)
They are incredibly amazing!!!
I also love arabian the most and then the onodi. Arabian seems to be the hardest skill with still some finesse in it
Yang Bo, Teza, Onodi, Rulfova, Erceg for me
I know it’s a rare skill but the Teza 1 & 2 are mind blowing
I also love the Yang Bo stag jump. So elegant.
I've wondered, are you interested mostly in women's gymnastics or do you like men's gymnastics too?
Mostly WAG. I’ve done a couple MAG videos but I don’t think the level of engagement is the same
@@gymnasticsmasterclass WAG is much more interesting and fun to watch, specially the BB!
Only men’s vault.
1. Rulfova
2. Arabian
3. Layout.
4. Onodi
5. Triple turn
I hate wolf turn and side somi
I love the Shaefer. It is insanely cool to watch. From an esthetic point of view, the onodi and double turn are my favorites.
The double turn, Yang Bo’s rufolva and the Onodi
Dificul. The five is so beautiful.
The Arabian has always been my favorite too!
i love listening your voice haha
The Rankin one handed split mount.
YES to ILLUSION TURN!
Yang Bo
Amazing 😊
Totally agree with you. Except I like Pauline Shaffer's side somi half. And the Okino
Arabian is definitely my fav!!!!

The Yang Bo!
Best 5 !!!

The Arabian is definitely my fav.
Lay-outs by Chinese gymnasts, esp. Deng Linlin's.
Sheep jump, when done right. Komova's was outstanding.
Yang Bo
Vlada Urazova's (and only hers) wolf turn
Shaeffer-Betz
# 4 Yikses!
The Illusion Turn and tha Arabian
Elles sont toutes formidables.
Je ne sais sur quels critères les départager.
Pour moi ce sont des exploits.
Bravo à toutes
My top skill on this apparatus is looking at it and knowing I don't stand a chance 😂😂😂
Wevers pirouette❤
5,4,2,1 #4
My top beam skill is definitely Teza.
Accurate
Rulfova ❤️
Teza II
And triple turn of Sanne Wevers?
Schäfer Salto❤
the arabian is insanely cool
Русская гимнастка и мигрант очень красиво все делает. У неё больше чем просто правильно сделанная техника.
Sheep jump for rulfova!
My top 5 skills on beam are: getting a chair to climb on the thing, especially at 5’10, then figuring out how to take a step, get to the end, then crouching down and leaping to the floor without injuring myself. I can’t with the Rulfova it looks like it hurts way too much.😅
How different is the scoring between illusion with and without hand(s)?
Layout full but only if it’s kui yuanyuan or deng linlin doing it
Anyone else who loves wolf turns??
Are we the same person? It’s like you read my mind😅😅
Komovas Arabian should be here
Full twisting LO
Thought the one was a korbut flip..
Standing full
The European is my top skill😊
People don't realize that a dance illusion is different from a gymnastic illusion
I miss aliya sm
My top skill on this apparatus is Not Falling Off.
Def the Onodi..
How did I know that the Onodi and Arabian would be 1 and 2? 😅
No one’s gonna mention the layout full twist like Ohashi did?
As a guy, watching #4 always rubs me the wrong way 😖
Arabian, hands down!
But oh no... where is the ... wolf turn.... 😂😂😂
😂
In the trash
My top one is the wolf turn 😍
My no. one skill would be to get on the beam and not fall instantly.
How are these moves even possible?
double turn? What about triple turn? XD
What? No wolf turns? 😉
😂😂
Mustafa is the hottest gymnast
Why it's called Arabian? 🤔
So unfortunate Russia was excluded from gymnastics. Just not the same
