After you’ve had a bit of freedom, suggestion to save the money you would have been spending on mortgage, council rates, insurance & house maintenance - put it into term deposit or safe investment to accumulate interest in your favour. Then you can save for a house without a mortgage. It might be small but better than renting when you are older & can’t always depend on inheritance. We didn’t have a mortgage but saved for land, improved it, sold, bought two bedroom & sunroom house in regional area, improved it, sold for double, built a new house - all mortgage free by being frugal & saving.
Compound interest works the earlier you start saving. Don’t invest in things too risky. We did most of the house maintenance, but when you get older, you can’t do it physically. Family day care is an option to do when/if you have family.
Hi, a returning viewer here🎉 I really enjoyed watching this video! Love the idea of Pilates reformer, as a Physio- I highly recommend this form of fitness! Also, you and I currently have a very similar financial situation, life situation etc. Can’t imagine and justify paying 6k for mortgage tho 😮 cheers from the Gold Coast! Will be waiting for the homeowner era summary video to learn from your mistakes - thank you in advance!
Great to see you have a bit more freedom and relief from earning more and not having the mortgage on your shoulders. I'm still studying so hope to do the same once I start working, and being able to spend a bit more. Love this video!
I’ve got a question about selling a house … what are the costs in selling? Ie. real estate fees, photographer etc ? We are probably going to be selling but the idea of renting out our house is also an option.
Honestly, I did not realise home that ownership would be so costly. I honestly thought it would be cheaper than renting. Maybe my decision to never buy a house was the right one..
@@simonlyons6866Most homeowners buy a house they can afford and still have money to live well. If they don't know how to live within their means that's on them. To each their own. But, I lost my house during the real estate market crash of 2007 and have been renting ever since which means I've pissed away well over $100,000 of rent money all this time and have nothing to show for it and still face a 30 day eviction if the landlord decides they want me to leave.
@@simonlyons6866 Perhaps you should have bought with your means. I've been renting since 2007 because of bad financial decisions and bad credit. I've spent probably between 150K and 200K and have nothing and still face the fear my landlord will tell me to leave in 30 days. Buying is cheaper that renting of you do it right.
@royharper2003 I have the top 1%to 2% of a credit rating in Australia according to my credit file. It means absolutely nothing to me!!! I've saved what you spent!! again, it means absolutely nothing to me. I don't buy more than what I need. I live on a basic income, and I mean basic, and make sure that my living costs never exceed what I earn. My rent will never be more than what I need!!!!!!!!! The big difference here is that I'm never stuck in the same Dumb arse job ever. The number of bosses I've told where to go!!! (By the way, this is the most freeing feeling you will ever get to feel) and never have to think( oh no, what do I do now) and take the next crappy job that comes along in a mad panic , I have witnessed people doing this and I have done this also, it is by far the most horrible experience. I now invest in stocks and bitcoin and drive around in a 23yo car with 500 thousand ks on the clock. Again, I don't take more than what I need. What you are saying is that people should buy into an overpriced market, carry huge burdens of debt, and all the costs associated with home ownership. The amount of time you have to spend at work to pay for this housing and maintain somewhat of a lifestyle is beyond ridiculous. All this so you can apparently sleep better at night and say I own this to friends and associates. It's all a load of rubbish. Your freedom is the most valuable thing you will ever own, and giving it to a bank or some corporation just to have stuff that will eventually be thrown out is not a well thought out plan. Renting isn't ideal, but it gives you freedom to go wherever you want, don't like the area!! Move, relationship breaks down it's a hell of a lot cheaper to get out of a rental than a mortgage. I've witnessed my family members go through turmoil of home ownership and all its costs that led to bankruptcy, and you can't just say I'm over this. I don't want to do it anymore, that cost has to be paid and if you hate your job this feeling is exacerbated. Go buy your house if you feel this would make things better for yourself. But just think of all the excessive number of hours at your job!!! and you better love that job!! because you will spend more time there than anywhere else, and also be prepared put up with some prick of a boss telling you how good you are 1 week then the following week how completely useless you are and have to hold all that frustration in. Oh!!! the feeling. (I've had to endure this type of rubbish in my past) Home ownership is not everything.
So thats why you got a rental so quickly you offered 6 months up front Rental bidding is supposed to be outlawed No wonder people are having a hard time finding rentals

A baby fund idea is so sweet! If that money doesn’t get used then put it in an account with a good interest rate for baby’s education later on.
the baby fund is such a sweet and thoughtful idea 🥺 loved this video!
Yay! So glad your budget with me’s are back 🥰
The baby fund is an incredibly thoughtful and kind idea! 👶🏼

Thank you! I’ll definitely check out that budget website :)
I am happy to see any video you put up
You’re a good sister❤
You are looking so pretty! Great video.
Leave it on at 25
Hey girl, please ensure youvhave CONTENT'S insurance even as a renter, its not expensive, but a necessity!
I know you deleted your house insurance now you're renting but assuming you would still pay contents insurance?
Nah we don’t because the things we own aren’t expensive. The insurance would cost more over the years than to replace it all.
Split systems use hardly anything if you’re keeping it at 24° and running it on auto

Yes it is much better to throw money away on rent your entire life and end up with nothing
@royharper2003 I would rather own nothing and have the freedom. Than, have the debt that most homeowners are in.

Rental bidding is supposed to be outlawed
No wonder people are having a hard time finding rentals
I don’t think it’s classified as rental bidding because our weekly amount didn’t change 🤷🏼♀️ I know you definitely can’t offer more per week.
Hi angie..glade your stress free...keep renting..cheaper and safer option. How's your partner going?
Lewis is going very well. He’s loving the freedom 😀
