Just got my new ball ,13 pounds, shot 618 first using this new ball, very control. Transition starting in the third game and it took me a while to find the sweet spot. Looking forward to using this ball next week in the league
I’d like to know how tunable the cover is. The purple is way too strong in my house OOB, and if you polish it to the maximum it becomes somewhat usable. I’d love to see a ball with the motion of a purple, but a cover more in line with the lower volumes targeted by the old Faball blue pearl and pink Hammers. Is the NU with less surface or polish going to be weaker like urethane, or snappier like resin?
I wonder if they still had the rerelease Burgundy Hammer cover formulation lying around, just waiting for its time to shine again. Because this isn't the first time Hammer, or Brunswick, have put out a not urethane ball. I do love the cheek in the marketing. I hope this can be successful in all the ways it needs to be.

And alot of locals kind of regret their purchase. Lol
I threw 258 with this ball OOB last monday at league. Im a high rev rate 2 hander so urethane works SO good for me. I just always feel weird about throwing thane because it does destroy the friction in the pattern. My biggest issue/question is whether this will leave me a bunch of flat 10s all night. I stopped using urethane a couple of years ago and my 10 pin spare conversion went up since I rarely leave 10s now LOL.
@@brunsnick you're probably right. Urethane has worked in the past when I threw it straighter into the pocket. Definitely interested in this ball even though I throw mostly SPI products.

As much as urethane regained popularity over the past several years; it makes me wonder why bowlers just didnt take solid reactives and put a short pin layouts on them to achieve a similar ball motion. In your experiences; what is your take on the difference between the two? As an example; what would the difference be between a Purple Hammer and a ball like a Blue Messenger with some surface and the pin between 1-2 inches from the PAP? BTW.... great video as always and this tempts me to get one as I never jumped on the newer urethane bandwagon.
Because it’s still not nearly as close. End of the day, it’s still resin and will be too quick to respond, even with a short pin when you compare it to true urethane.
I would say that the ball manufacturers that make urethane bowling balls are no doubt making their own versions of the NU Blue Hammer. That is whatever they will call their balls and what colors they will have. I don't think that competitors will let one company keep the monopoly on not urethane bowling balls for very long that is why I think that other ball making companies are making their own versions as I post this. They just haven't revealed them yet.
Is the ball cover made out of a material with impregnated ceramic carbide to grab the lane oil like thousands of little boat oars? If it is.....I want one. : )
I have it drilled the same as my Purple Urethane. You typically have to use more ball speed to stay outside on house shots with these because of the dry boards outside.
I think I am going to get the AXE where I bowl there pretty dry for me I can't get the speed I used to get I am around 12/12/1/2 I have to play inside and over 75 ave around 190 the new Blue looks awesome I think I'll get one of them also should I put the pin over my Rt finger in both bALLS ?
Hey Nick, I was watching Walter throw this ball. By his impression, he said it hooks almost as much as the Pink Hammer. What would you say? Weaker or even?
Sarge Easter normally keeps you behind the ball a bit more and can increase your access tilt so you are not tracking over the thumb. It also works well if you have issues with your ring finger
given they dont say what cover it is. i feel brunswick found what we said for years "you dont need urethane when you have MCP". so they made its own version. you may say its not becuse of the formula but i bet it just different to the point where motiv dont have leagl case. when companys dont give full story they have something to hide. seen this with telescope they love mark scope have best glass on the marked, but when they dont give info on glass lens the photo show why. its okay to love MCP and i stil trow it. no cary down problems and great control. i call this hammers attempt on MCP until 100% proof.

End of the day, it’s still resin and will be too quick to respond, even with a short pin when you compare it to true urethane.
needs to be a literal side-by-side comparison. They didn't have a purple hammer handy for you to compare with shot to shot?
Separate video.
Let them try! The bar has been set very high.
Look like it the hammer version of the Brunswick fanatic btu line from years ago
Much better.
What's the price point on this ball? I'm sure its not as much as a higher end ball
Somewhere in the middle
Do you think this could be a good update to the btu when the purple was to much and the Btu isn’t enough
Yes. The BTU was pretty mellow.
Does Brunswick own Haammer?
Yes.
@@brunsnick That explains it! Great video. Love the Hammer balls.
Considering this is meant to replace the purple urethane for the tour, I'm going to wait until I see some videos comparing the two on tour shots.
Will this ball still tear up the fronts and drag the oil down like urethane does?
All balls do that though.
Neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed
Good ball but I heard two Brunswick reps thinking it would be good for lefthanders more than righthanders
It’s good for everyone. No lefty right bias with purple or NU Blue.
What's in the bag you keep going to?
Just rosin powder for grip.
Ahh- thank you!
Is the ball cover made out of a material with impregnated ceramic carbide to grab the lane oil like thousands of little boat oars? If it is.....I want one. : )
How do you have that NU Blue Set I have to go way left on the house shot with most o
of my balls I can:t throw straight and I want to
I have it drilled the same as my Purple Urethane.
I thought the Purple Hammer Reactive fit this spot in the aresnal(?). 🤔
This is much slower and smoother.
Hey Nick, I was watching Walter throw this ball. By his impression, he said it hooks almost as much as the Pink Hammer.
What would you say? Weaker or even?
Haven’t thrown them heads up but I already know this ball works better with slightly open angles. I gotta think the pink widow is earlier and smoother
@@brunsnick Awesome. Thanks for the reply. Maybe you can put those two head-to-head in the future. Would love to see the comparison
What’s up with his finger fitting? I’ve never seen a drill like that before
ruclips.net/video/Ax8H7MisJms/видео.htmlsi=1cgH_YN8l4198NzG Sarge Easter
Sarge Easter fit. Michael Fagan used this exclusively during his time on tour.
Gets people talking. 😎 Still working
Seldom people demonstrated if this fantastic ball would change the oil pattern like the purple hammer did so far.
All bowling balls change patterns. Even resin balls carry down oil the very same way because no ball absorbs immediately.
so if it's "not urethane" what's it made out of? resin balls are URETHANE with a resin mixed in. what exactly IS this coverstock material?
A proprietary coverstock blend that absorbs oil much slower than typical Reactive balls
