Well, I did not think there is one being on this planet left without a USB C charger. I was wrong. Did DJI give you the impression they would supply a charger within the package? No? Why the complaints? Why didn't you just order one right away with the drone? The usual customer these days owns a vast assortment of charges that came with the last generations of drones, mobile phones, tablets. Or by any means is this only a commercial for a specific charger you bought? DJI is specifically pointing out what comes with the drone and I cannot see a charger there. So it for sure no false advertising here.
Plenty of USB C chargers, just nothing close to the 65 or 100 watts the Air 3 needs. To me a charging hub includes a power adapter. Obviously you disagree. All good. Happy flying to ya!
About to purchase air 3 and did not know it didn’t come with charger, in my opinion that’s like selling a car with no wheels. Its ridiculous no charger .Good information mate 👍
Most people use the standard charger that comes with their cellphone. I have hundreds lying around but I use the charger that came with my Mavic air 2 and Air 2s you would think they would provide a charger for it though. Like apple doesn’t provide a charger for the iPhone anymore either.
I tried a phone charger but after 3 hours the charge level had hardly moved. I think as time goes on it will become the excepted norm for charges not to be included which is fine as long as the packaging is clearly marked.
I'll save you some time, folks. Here's the deal - the Fly More Combo doesn't come with a power supply for the drone. DJI doesn't mention it clearly on the box, and it's not in the inclusions list. So, despite spending $2,350 on the drone, you'll need to buy a separate power supply, costing around $129 AUD. DJI recommends their charger, but good luck finding it easily. I had to get a third-party charger with USB PD for faster charging. It's frustrating, and I think DJI needs to address this issue. Share your thoughts below and let's make sure DJI hears us.
Ideally DJI should have included a charging source. But, the absence of one in the kit should be no surprise. Multiple drone reviews pre-dating this post had noted its absence. And, I posit, most of us now own charging "bricks" from other devices.
A couple of people have commented saying there are other videos highlighting the lack of a charger which surprised me because I didn't find any in my pre-purchase searches. It seems that many do have chargers they think would be suitable too. Maybe I just don't update my technology as often as others and find myself without a suitable charger in my possession. Thanks for watching and giving your thoughts👍 .
I use a Bluettit portable power station model EB3A which has a 100 watt USB-C port. I mention this because inevitably you will take the drone to remote locations. Relying on your car battery and some cheap 12v adapter is not a good idea. I highly recommend investing in one of the modern compact LiFePO4 power stations. Yeh I know... another expense, but they are worth it. Good for around the house too. If the drone came with charger it would be annoying if you already owned a charger... for example, I would still use my Bluettit to charge, NOT one that might come with the drone. So I'd be complaining I paid for something I didn't want! That said, the box should clearly state "charger not included". :-)
Thanks for the info and your thoughts. I've been seeing a lot of advertising for Bluetti lately. Also saw Rob Parsons using their gear in a RUclips video. They look pretty good. Worth a closer look.
I use one of my MacBook Pro M2 charger, 100 Watt and it is fine and fast. Most people have today chargers around, if you get with everything you buy a separate charger you do not know where to put them all. This is common today, f.e. also the iPhone or Samsung deliver there products without a charger.
Thanks for your thoughts. It seems some people have an excess of chargers and some don't. I have heaps of low watt chargers but nothing capable of delivering what the Air 3 batteries require.
I have been looking at DJI drones with the hope that to get good quility, paying more makes up for my lack of knolage of technology, I have spent a lot of time talking to the jb hi fy staff, but never once was was it said the drone was not ready to fly, the fly more kit has it all and thats all you need. I am glad that you took your time and experence, to send out a coment even if it only helped me. I am discusted at the price and not incluiding a charger, not every one is as smart as others that think it is my fult for not asking the questions in the first place. Thanks Baz.
I'm glad the video helped. That was my aim. I would have still bought the Air 3 if I knew the charger wasn't included. I just think DJI need to be clear and upfront. Interesting that the JB HiFi staff aren't aware. When I went back for a charger the staff seemed surprised it wasn't included too.
I have yet to get the Live Stream to work on this drone.. After over 25 emails to DJI its still not working. Had No issues with my old Mavic air 2. Not happy with my new purchase so far.
@VentureOffroadAustralia4x4 I think I was able to fix the problem by holding my finger down on the screen then slowly dragging my finger to the left or the right. Doing that slowly moves the gimbal to make it more centered if slightly off
It doesn't make it right though. Considering the price we pay for these fancy bits of electronic gear. They could at least be up front and display it on the packaging.
@@VentureOffroadAustralia4x4 I know it is frustrating their excuse is climate change and reducing electronic waste but it is just about money. That is why nobody is mentioning it because now this is the norm
I know right. Big tech caring for the environment! I doubt it very much. Including a charger was the norm last year when a friend bought the Air 2 and six years ago when I bought a Phantom 3. Customers shouldn't accept this sort of change. I say, let them know!
The average household that has tech equipment is uaually loaded down with chargers as it is. Let's whine because a company is trying to reduce e-waste. The box showed you exactly what was in it. You're the one that made the assumptions. You should have had the common sense to be able to read those contents, and parse it.
Thanks for the comment, you're entitled to your opinion but I disagree. We are a household with loads of tech equipment and chargers, but nothing even close to the 100w PD the Air 3 needs. I'm amused by the idea that tech companies are trying to reduce e-waste. More likely manufacturing costs, thus maximising profit. The box shows it includes a charging hub. What good is a charging hub without a means to plug it into a wall socket. To me a charging hub is a complete power supply, not part there of. DJI have further responded to my email and actually stated the charger isn't included as a means to reduce RRP. A simple clear sticker on the box stating "charger sold separately" would eliminate any confusion.
You do not NEED to have a PD charger. You can use a lower wattage charger, and charge the batteries, though slower. (btw, fast charging your drone batteries all the time will shorten their use life). @@VentureOffroadAustralia4x4
@darrenjohnson1313 Again, not sure I agree but thanks for your thoughts. I charged for 3 hours using a Samsung S21 charger and hardly charged at all. Curious to know what drones and chargers you have?
The least they could do is make customers aware by clearly labelling the box "charger sold separately". I would still be a disgruntled customer but at least I'd be informed.
I had to buy a charger after, for the price of the unit it should have been included as it’s a vital piece. I think that is a disgrace to be honest
Couldn't agree more. For an expensive drone from a big brand I expect more.

Yeah, I feel the same way. Aside from the lack of charger, I'm really happy with the drone.
No power supply was a bummer .
I thought so.
Great review. I have the same issue as you do
My thoughts haven't changed. I still think it's disappointing. It would've cost DJI next to nothing to include a power supply.

That's about the extent of it. Great drone but disappointing lack of customer appreciation.

All the reviews I've ever seen say no power supply included don't really know what you have been watching for the last few months.
That's strange. I've watched a heap of Air 3 video's and not one mentioned the power supply been sold separately.
@@VentureOffroadAustralia4x4 every unboxing I seen by all the main RUclipsr all said you need a 100w charger

That's really disappointing. It's not a feature I use but seems odd it worked on Air 2 but not Air 3. I hope you can find a way to get it working.
I had my Air 3 for a couple weeks now and I can't make it stay still in the air. It's always slowly moving so I can't get a good shot
That sucks. Mine hovers okay. I wonder if a drone or controller firmware update would fix it? Or maybe a factory reset. Good luck

Good point " they should provide one " it's a real ball ache having to go and get one . 👍
It really surprised me. Not sure if the Air 3 is the first one to sell the charger separately.
A lot of companies are doing this now even cellphones don't come with power bricks anymore!
