Shmee150 Good review as always shmee .Have you ever thought about getting a few bespoke sound tracks to test the sound systems in cars because I noticed a few times now you say you cant test because of youtube copyright laws. surely a man of your calibre has music producer contacts who could knock you a few tracks out where you own the copyrights???
SnakeyUk08 no need, there's also public commons content- aka free music that has been produced with no copyright, so anyone can use it. Generally it's not as good to listen to as real music, but it has all the same sounds if you know what I mean. Like a "metal" track would have loud guitars, fast drums, etc. it just may not sound very good as a song.
Most people that buy automatic versions of these kinds of cars barely use the paddles anyway, making them useless and boring. But in a manual you're forced to change gears yourself, which makes it a ton of fun
Harrison Davis - You're right. I've always chosen manuals. It's all about the overall driving experience, the life of it, not the specs. For those who are new to manuals, it's fun once you get into the rhythm. It's like playing a musical instrument. A beautiful musical instrument that can go...
Great video Tim! It's great to hear your thoughts on the manual and I was always curious what the regular V6 without the active exhaust sounded like. Not as bad as I thought but the active exhaust is definitely still the way to go in my opinion. Thanks for this video!
This is aimed at people enjoy the experience and appreciate cars like the original E-type, tvr, AC cobra, Morgan and so on. Smaller wheels = less weight as does the manual box.
+Shmee150 for the copyright issue. If you want to show the sound system in the future, you can download copyright free music? This is normally allowed for youtube videos. Might want to look into that. Cheers! :)
Im wondering how you would be able to judge the system even if he tried. After beeing recorded by his microphone and then listened to by your personal headphones that would complete eradicate the quality of sound of the speaker system in the car.
I agree, a manual gearbox isn't my thing and I don't think it goes well with the F-Type. I do love the F-Type to death though. Great video as always Tim!
your basic, cheap, econobox with a manual actually makes it kinda fun. I'm a strong believer in the saying, " It's more fun to drive a slow car fast, than a fast car slow."
3:47, that's just depressing I have no problem travelling in a manual. You don't shift that much anyway on long drives. the only bad part of driving a manual is literal stop and go traffic.
Ah, the good 'ol press car, rev the daylights out of it from stone cold :-) Just a small critique, you open the boot and show us inside it, but you didn't open the bonnet! I realise it is probably just a big plastic cowl covering everything up, but it'd still be worth a look surely? More interesting than the boot anyway...
Alien Or Sutin life is more thn drag races and beating each other buddy..life is to live .. and a manual transmission is about u breathing with the car and involved with the car right from the word go....u decide..whether u wanna live or compete 24*7

I'm going to divide opinions with one question which is better the gtr or the f-type???? personally I love both but id get a gtr and put a louder exhaust on it
Hey there just bought a new Lamborghini it's really fun to drive up here in Hollywood hills but do you know what I like more than material things? Knowledge -.-
Tim for top gear presenter! I think you have the knowledge of the cars, skill to describe them and talking to the camera while driving. Nice one mate! #timfortopgear
Lidus Falkonnox depends on how you drive. When you whip out the rear on every turn and burn rubber off every green light, you will get worse mpg with a manual
Lidus Falkonnox That used to be the case, but in the last few years, automatics are starting to win that battle, as they have gotten rid of the inefficiencies of the auto, but can't get rid of the inefficiencies of humans! Autos can be tuned for fuel economy as far as their shift points ect. and now autos often have more gears than manuals, offering things such as double overdrive for insanely good highway MPG. They cant put the same gear ratios on a manual because when cruising down the highway you would have to shift between say 7th and 6th gear once every minute or so... fine for an auto when you don't even notice, but a pain for manual. I love my manual transmission, and for no apparent reason there are some cars I think I would definitely get in a manual (this F type for example.) and some I would opt for an automatic (new BMW m3 for example) That's just a matter of my taste though, and though I do think manuals are dying a little, I hope we can still keep them around, even if it is only in a very small segment of the car market!
***** Thank you for the reply, it was pretty informative. I have an E46 M3 that I absolutely adore in manual…really, bad fuel economy or not, it's one heck of a good time. The feeling of going through gears will never be as satisfying with an automatic.
Lidus Falkonnox e46 m3's are awesome cars! And with the reliability issues I have heard about their SMG gearboxes of that generation, manual is the only way to go! And I a agree, on a lot of cars that feeling is worth the couple seconds slower it may go, and that little bit of economy you may lose! That's something non car guys will never get, they look at the spec sheet and think manuals are a stupid idea on most cars, but a spec sheet cannot quantify the feeling of throwing it through the gears!

It is really shame that manual actually die! Today we lose the manual and there are not so much drivers that care about it. But if you think same technical development and same drivers laziness which bring the automatics to preferred choice will bring us self-driving cars they are already in the product lines. ... and then where is the point of having a car? It is better to use public transport - especially if Elan Musk, I think, is right when said that in future, driving will be prohibited by low - call me old fashion but I personally don't want that kind of future!
the thing is ur nt much used 2 manuals although they r nt fast, certainly confidence inspiring & coz ur nt that used to manuals its always a extra mental exercise 2 manage separate par of ur brain to worry with the gears AM I CORRECT?

Do you like red on Ferraris?
GAMING GANG Only Rosso Fiorano.
Same here. Red is a bit passe, but that car is gorgeous.
The f type is pretty in any color but especially red, silver and blue

Yes he is happy with it! He is thinking about it and he wants an aventador when he retires in about 3-4 years

The coupe is so much better looking
Quick edit Schmee, great to see it on your channel so soon, saw it on your Instagram yesterday, thanks!
I've been wanting to see this car for a while! Very well done
I think that the exhaust is muted because it's the standard 3.0l V6, not the S, but hey, not for everyone! Good video Tim 😃
I'm think it is most beautiful f-type of all
I think the coupe is better.
YESSSS FINALLY.
I REALLY want to buy the F-Type and the only one im gonna buy is the Manual version. Going *old skool*
It does actually look pretty awkward with the 18" weels..
because the exterior is sporty and exotic. the rims are too weak for this car
20 inch is a must.
This is aimed at people enjoy the experience and appreciate cars like the original E-type, tvr, AC cobra, Morgan and so on. Smaller wheels = less weight as does the manual box.
One of the best noise to come from a car regardless of price

Dem crackles tho....they are sooo good to hear
when will your documentary of your eurotour be released?
that looks so fuckin fun to drive if u put me in one of those i would never get out. looks like a much different feeling than my e46 m
Every time I've seen this car being review or test driven it's red
Stefan Supra They do look good in red!

Hi Tim I meet't u looking at the zonda in Knightsbridge
I like manuals but for where I live (being London) I would have an automatic.
Hi Shmee, do you prefer the convertible or the coupe?
my favourite car
i have one question, how you do to have access to so many cars, what do you say to the dealerships?
do a review on the Maserati MC Stradale
Hmm... already basic Jag F-Type has everything wich is needed. Of course top V8 model gives much more, but basic V6 is cool!
+Shmee150 wich jaguar f-type do you like the most, the coupe or the confertible?
Convertible
+Yash Joshi me too

F-Type is pretty sexy not gonna lie and it sounds good too
the one that you filmed with the m4
The V6 F Type should not exist..it devalues the FType R which i love..the V8 R convertible is the nicest car right now!
The F-TYPE sounds awesome with an automatic gearbox, but with a manual it sounds not so good...
Looks like an homage to the old school petrolheads, and i like that. But God the steering wheel is on the wrong side ! ))
good review, you should be more harsh on these cars e.g. Crap boot space
hes more about the engine/trans and the exhaust note
Real man prefer manual gearboxes. period
what does the 150 in your name stand for ?
ultimate jaguar drivers car: F type v6s with manual, conv. or coupe
I think the only way to tour is WITH a manual. Don't be lazy ;)
I cringe everytime someone revs a cold engine.
I think the best alternative to this would be a bmw z4 m actually.
i Prefer automatic gearbox with the double clutch.
Brilliant “
Those rims look like they come off a small hatchback.. other than that beautiful car!

F type, manual, rwd, drooling intensifys
57,000 LBS ????
I seriously don't get it whats about the manual hype? Why is everyone like "manuel is the best ..."?
You dont get as much noise as with the automatic gearbox, too much time changing gears :(
hello
Damn, 57,000 lbs, that's a record. I want to know how jag can make this weigh almost as much as 24 elephants....lol
Tim you won't have paddles on a manual.
Shift shift
Very nice car, but the V8 R model sounds much better.
