My favourite SPURS podcast by far. The negativity currently being exuded by many SPURS podcasts, fans and general quarters is depressng. As you guys pointed out, if you can't see the trejectory of the team and general level of play you are absolutely blind and fundamentally a hater. Stay strong team, under Ange when it clicks it will be phenominal. I guarantee you that every team in the prem is petrified that SPURS will sort out that final third. Don't give up on Ange and the boys in the team, silverware is a tweek or two away.

He builds to success, and yeah, it might take three seasons from now, but the aim is this season. If you aim for fourth you might come sixth, but it’s pretty unlikely it will be first. With Ange the goal is always the same and he always states the goal, but never predicts the time. I never cut my wrists if his team loses. It’s a step by step process. The fewer steps the better, but however long it it takes, it takes. Ange never said he’d win he just stated the goal.

I totally agree about the squad - I think the focus on the future is exactly the right way to go. Ange is a keeper - I hope Levy knows a winner when he sees one and focuses on bringing an NFL franchise to WHL.We'll be able to spend big then. You can see the successes and failings from so many different perspectives. You must be an amazing husband and father. I have supported this club since '67 since the day Big Pat scored at OT. Only last December was I in a position to buy my first season ticket. The stadium alone fills me with a sense of wonder whether full or empty. I relish my pre-match routine. I marvel at the players' ability to weave such beautiful patterns of play under intense pressure from the opposition. I am baffled as to why any fan of any team would jeer their own players. It makes no sense to weaken one's own. As you say there are 20 teams all dreaming the same dream. Winning is not a divine right. I have learnt to accept that this sporting relationship is like any other relationship; to be fruitful and rewarding it requires an acceptance of the inevitable ups and downs. I have had a bit of a shock as a new fan. What shocked me was that there seem to be a significant group of fans who have no interest in actually supporting Tottenham. They would prefer to be critics standing on the sidelines throwing stones.
Have seen people focusing on the results at the end of last season as if they are now relevant to this season. Whereas in any sport I have followed we would congratulate our coach for finishing 5th (improving our league position by 3 spots from 8th the previous season) and then we’d move on to the new season with its exciting possibilities. We would expect him/her to keep working on any issues from the last season (which it appears Ange has been doing).
There also seems to be some “fans” where the team losing appears to be their goal. They want to remove the Chairman and are happy to white ant the team with negativity until the manager is sacked. Then they can blame Levy for it. Which will bring more people to their protests. For me that is weird stuff.
Ironically, their methods will likely not even be successful. It’s very unlikely Levy would sell his stake in the club if we are playing poorly (as he would make less money). If he will sell it will more likely be when we are successful and riding high.
As I have said. Observing this is very strange to me. Because the thing which makes a team successful is when everyone moves in one direction towards success. We need the supporters to support.
There are clearly many supporters who quietly and rationally back the team and I appreciate all those fans. I want them to keep being vocal and support Ange because I think that will help bring Tottenham success.

Great stream that echoes much of my own thoughts. That is not the main reason why I think it is great though (although it helps, hehe), I'm just glad that there are channels that are more balanced. As fairly new to the fan community, I'm almost caught off-guard by the impatience among some fans, and I have difficulties using other social media due to the vitriol expressed there. Maybe the explanation is what you touched upon, which is that Spurs are just below the top teams in the league, and on the verge of breaking through. That is bound to produce frustration. From my perspective, I'm feel very optimistic for the rest of the season. The last three performances are way better than the tail end of last season, which is impressive given the major overhaul of the squad. I've been thinking about the Ange system. I love it and trust that Ange knows best.
At the same time I listen to Slot and look at the results he is having, and I am wondering why no other manager (that I know about) is teaching his team to adapt the positions according to the opponents? Pressing at the right time without risking too much, sprinting back home to cover for each other etc...
    A dynamic, flexibel play system.
Especially when it seems like it is working. Well..., if Ange beats Slot in 3-4 years with 4-0 he will prove me wrong, which is very likely..., but for now the low XG (open and clear chances) and the lack of solidity on counters..., seem worrying, for now at least.
The whole youth/talent thing is absolutely the only way we'll ever get there, but I've talked about that b4. U need to acquire players with a high top ceiling, foster them into team players and have the best tactics. My 2 cents for now.

Don't you find it ironic that last 2 loses in Newcastle were "Conte ball" prevailing over "Ange ball". This is EPL, the quality of opposition is high and the punishment for defensive lapses is almost guaranteed. Ange is not putting the good quality squad in position to recover after simple loss of possession.
It's fun to believe that we can outscore our defensive shortcomings, but it's also very naive against at least better 2/3 of EPL clubs

What happened, been travelling and finally get a chance to catch up and there is all this negativity after only 3 games of a new season. The games have been great, just didn’t get the results but that is football, remember the FA Cup just gone. I’m sure Liverpool and Man City feel they should have beaten Man Utd. Solanke was bought late and hasn’t had any real time to create combinations or gel with the team, not to mention injury. All the new signings also need time to gel, Pep, Klopp and Arteta teams took time to get where they are now. So why do a section of Spurs fans feel they should be winning every game? These are the same fans who didn’t want Ange as he was a nobody but now all of a sudden he should be winning everything. Listen to Jim and the boys, just relax enjoy each game and the journey to the end of season. Maybe, just maybe Ange will win something and all this doom and gloom will disappear.

The progress is clear, even good teams are conceding possession and going for a counter attack and set piece tactic. That is not going to work this season when Solanke gets going. We are playing well and should and could have won these 3 games and yes so frustrating but at least we are playing attractive football, and we are moving forward and have a clear identity. Look at Man United- how much have they spent on their players, and they are disgrace and no identity. Creating so many chances and dominating possession, Solanke has played 1 game, lets judge at end of season. EPL is so tuff and majority of side's have spent more than Spurs. Ange wants to win titles give him some reasonable time to do this.

This has been the shock to me as an Australian fan. It’s that there seem to be a large amount of fans who have no interest in actually supporting Tottenham. They would prefer to be critics standing on the sidelines throwing stones.
Have seen people focusing on the results at the end of last season as if they are now relevant to this season. Whereas in Australia we would congratulate our coach for finishing 5th (improving our league position by 3 points) and then we’d move on to the new season with its exciting possibilities.
There also seems to be some “fans” where the team losing appears to be their goal. They want to remove the Chairman and are happy to white ant the team with negativity until the manager is sacked. Then they can blame Levy for it. Which will bring more people to their protests. For me that is weird stuff.
Ironically, there methods will likely not even be successful.
In saying that- there are clearly many supporters who quietly and rationally support the team and I appreciate all those supporters. I want them to keep being vocal and supporting Ange because I think that will help bring Tottenham success.

I'm gonna say smth that won't go down well, but I think that at this level u can't get it all. I.e. winning now and in the future. No club manages to do that, not Chelsea, not City etc. U have a period or cycle. Look at Spain, Brazil, Argentina etc. They have en era or a cycle with extremely good players and then a lull and then they can come back if they have the right regrowth.
For me, I'd rather have a really good shot in a couple of years compared to getting stuck in the forever 'win now' forcing u to overspending on older players like (Casemiro etc that will drain the club financially and only have 1,5 season left in the tank...). I'd much rather root for our youth and follow their growth!
Managing the future of Mikey Moore, and the other younger talents that the club has been able to sign will be absolutely crucial for our future!
In a couple of years, it won't be all about the 'older' stars. It will be about MVDV, Vic, Udogie, Bergvall, Gray, Odebert and Min-Hyuk, if we handle them right and can help lift them to where they wanna go.

Has improved this season already as highlighted by no goals conceded from set pieces. Rest of his game is great, amazing shot stopper & if you look at GK stats he is 1 of the best in the league.

Vicario has had 1 season in the EPL and is still developing therefore in my view these assessments are a little harsh. It seems Ange secured Austin as his backup for Vicario. I wouldn’t be surprised if Whiteman is moved on in the next window. I expect a strong backup for Vicario is on the shopping list. ❤

I don’t know about Son being too nice. I think he’s respectful but his professionalism is 2nd to none. He’s blasted team mates when they’ve been wasteful or selfish. I listen to Madders, Johnson and others speak highly of his leadership and guidance. I suggest with all these young spurs players his value to the club is unlimited. He’s been playing brilliantly out of position for too long. I’m excited to see how he’ll interact with Solanke, Odobert, Moore and Bergvall. I believe his value is just not on the pitch.

I'm still Ange in but this is a pattern now. Celtic "outplayed" Real Madrid but still lost. Work with the team you have and not the imaginary Man City one you have in your head.

But I agree with your fans the think Ange tactically in nieive. You not catching anyone offside standing on the halfway line step back temp yards and you can. Also pushing to far forward you giveen you self's no space behind the opposition back. Line

I knew Newcastle would score again when we equalised. It was inevitable. And they did. Gifted by Spurs again. That's what worries me. Unless we turn a corner with it, it won't happen for us.
