Time to clean my panels again. That was one of the things that I should have considered at the start. But, considering that I need to do some roof repair due to winddamage, then it may be great timing anyways.
If you live in UK/Europe or another market that sells Jinko solar panels....Jinko Tiger Neo 475watts are superb. Had them installed in March, my third Solar project of the last decade and they are the best. Also had bird/squirrel protection wire caging around the edges for better save than sorry.
Jinko is one of the largest solar manufacturers in the world and has great pricing though I would consider most of their modules Tier 2. Not familiar with the Tiger Neo 475W for residential installs.
I have been planning to get solar panel for my house but my ignorance on this tech hinders me from doing so. Because of your vlog I am now, in a way, have an educated idea how to realize my home energy improvement project the right way.
i just jumped into the whole solar panel arena. I just got an Eco Flow battery and am trying hooking up my new Eco Worthy panels to it. I have 4 100 watt panels and i hooked them up but i am getting at best 200 watts combined. I feel i should be getting better results. I have no shading and they are brand new. Im a lil disappointed. Maybe i can get better panels.
I would hope that the panels are better when the sun is not directly over the panels. After all, the pitch and positioning of roofs are not always great. Also, how well, do they handle partial shade. (see a neighbor have panels (string inverter) near partial shade due to chimney and roof design.
I recently replaced my old inverter and want to replace one string of panels with some of the REC Alpha Pure-R 410W panels. Where would the best place to get 11 of them in CA be?
The last solar panel outputs more max power. So he suggested that the micro-inverters lack the capacity to convert that amount of power, therefore you might need better micro-inverters if you use the higher capacity panels.
Simplified explanation, a microiinverter has a maximum power it can output, let´s say 2000W, then it can have 4 inputs (from solar panels)... you can (and should) put solar panels with let´s say 550W * 4... now in THEORY your panels could produce 2200W at maximum, but the microinverter is limited to 2000W, so it will ONLY produce 2000W out even in 2200 would come in. WHY put bigger panels than the maximum? 1) Solar panels degrade by time a 550W panel produces like a 500W after some 10-15 years. 2) More solar power Watts, may give enough voltage to start the panel earlier.
When you are talking about 18 to 21 percent efficiency, the difference in efficiency is not 1 or 2 percent, as stated, but rather 14 percent difference. 3 is 14% of 21, so there is a 14% difference between 17 and 21 percent.
Economics like to be in equilibrium so the prices for similar spec panels will be in the price range. If the price of panels goes up for foreign makers then US makers will match those prices.
Disappointing video, good luck with your warranty claim if the company still exists in the future, currently 420 Watt panel 63 Euro, warranty who cares.
420W 63 € without the inverter... also a very cheap panel. When/if you buy quality stuff, you are happy if something goes bad and you can get a replacement.

Great information 👍thanks for putting this together!
No problem 👍

Thanks, best of luck.

You could shop around online retailers.
I am not sure if I understand “clipping” or why clipping was only talked about with this one solar panel model. Can you video more about this?

REC Alpha Pure AA - about $250 each AUD Wholesale price
I wonder on the mark up, i have to upgrade a system on the new house... 7 panels at 200w each just aint going to cut my needs

Now that tariffs are 100% guaranteed, US solar panels will, barring price gouging, be cheaper than Chinese panels.

I understand, videos exist on installer that are replacing failed panels and inverters.

If you have to put them on roof it’s time to move to the country
