I just want to tell you how much I have appreciated your videos these past four months since I found you. I’m stuck home exhausted from weekly chemo and you are getting me through this time. Sometimes I watch three or four of your videos day, and sometimes I just watch all day long!! And amazingly I have not run out of videos to watch yet! Holy moly you must have hundreds. I especially enjoy watching you make spreads for your patrons. I get lost watching the videos and it takes my mind off of everything else while I watch to see what you’ll do. Thank you for all the work you do to put these out, especially when you’re going through such a tough time yourself. Wishing you the best with everything and with getting settled in your new place.

I have been a list maker for a very long time, but I never thought to make categories! 🤦🏼‍♀️ I’m now retired and usually only make lists when we are going out of town or for family gatherings. I am new to planning. I started in June after receiving an unexpected medical diagnosis. I kept rehashing info from doctors and test results and was making myself crazy. I started using a planner to write down all of the info and it has been a huge help. I found you on RUclips when I was looking for ways to use my planner for “normal” things. You have very inspirational to me. You stay strong! You will get through your tough times, too!

Chunking large amounts of information into manageable bites is a big way I try to manage my anxiety. Plus, categorizing and decorating scratch that wonderful organizational itch in my brain. These little section headers you've made are simple yet supremely adorable

I never really thought of making a cute to do list with categories! But I’m new to the whole planner world! NOT planning world as I just retired from 37 years of teaching elementary grades. Hi Mary Ellen! Since I started following you, I found my creativity again! I’m a teacher and finding free time to scrapbook or paint is nearly impossible. Finding your channel showed me I can be creative AND productive AND work on my mental health. It’s the outlet I never expected to find. Your so talented, and thank you for always being real and vulnerable even when it’s really deep. Even though we’ve never met, you feel like family. I’m in my mid 20’s and becoming an adult is something else. When you talk about your hardships and experiences in life, I feel like I learn a new perspective about something in my own life. I wouldn’t have found me again without you! So thank you for everything you do! ❤

I am 100% a to do list person. I relate so much with just feeling better after getting it on paper since it’s one less thing for my brain to be focusing on. When I do a brain dump to do list I gently categorize into house chores, school work, important random items and errands. But I also am a post it note queen and have all my classes assigned a certain color and a general color for little to do lists. Definitely want to try decorating my lists sometime though. I’ve finally started decorating my planner (used to be purely functional) and it is bringing me so much joy. I absolutely love the trees and houses book and would love to be entered in the drawing.

I just recently came across your videos and switched over to a happy planner system last month. My husband teases that I've joined a cult! But seriously, having ADHD and trying to find the perfect scheduling planner is beyond difficult. I won't say my life has miraculously changed, but HP and your videos have done the one thing my other planners never could: keep me engaged and kept me going back time and again to use my planner.
Sorry you are dealing with life issues but with you are being very adult and self-aware. I feel like many people just rush into things without thinking. The trick is to not over-think it! (Easier said then done, I know!)
So Mary Ellen, you aren't talking our ears off, it's like hearing from an old friend (even though I've only known you for a month or so!) By the way, when you order your coffee or whatever, you can ask for less or 1/2 syrup. That will make your drinks less sweet. ( you mentioned this in a video I watched recently).
Finally, I very much wanted to sign up for your giveaway, but I've changed my mind. If I win, I'd love for it to go to MB Dutton (the lady fighting cancer). Much love to all! 💜

I’m such a list person and it varies on the task at hand. I was just making a Thanksgiving Timeline List, which is to break down the tasks I have to do the few days leading up to Turkey Day! I also do my cleaning to do lists which I break down per room. And if I have a lot going on I will do a daily task to do list. I also make “don’t forget” lists (to make sure I bring everything with me if I’m going to an event like a holiday party, picnic and I’m bringing food, etc) and of course packing lists.
I don’t decorate my lists but I do make sure they’re written very neatly. I draw my own little square check off books before each task and it always feels good to see the checks on completed tasks.
Thanks for the great inspiration on doing a cute to do list!

Mary Ellen! I was a religious watcher of your channel and learned so much from you and for that I’m so very grateful. Unfortunately I too suffered the loss of my 36 year old son to a motorcycle accident and had gotten away from just about everything that brought me joy. This is a club no mother wants to be a part of. He left behind a wife and two children. I have recently started to use my planner again and watched many of your old videos that I missed and realized that you are in the same club I became a part of. I am so very sorry for your heartbreak, your tremendous loss and I hope your heart heals soon. I’ve ordered some of the things I’ve seen in your videos and really love these two books. I’m going to order the hearts one so I’ll have it for Valentine’s Day and I’ll love to be the lucky winner of the houses and trees book! I like your to do list! Great idea! I'm sitting here at my desk with so much to do and decided I needed some company while I try to sort out the 74 things I must get done within the next three days. I open up youtube, and there you are with the idea of decorating your To Do list. Bam. There you have it. Just what I needed. I only have 2 sticker books to my name, so instead of using stickers I have used some colored markers to make boxes and colored sticky dots for the checklists, and Ta Daaaaaa: a To Do list that is so much more pleasing to the eye. Thank you so much for making me feel like I am not the only one who is overwhelmed. It's good to know there are others out there who are just Smashing It by getting the most important things of the day done. Whether you think so or not right now, you are a rock star and I appreciate what you do to help others.

I love David Allen’s Getting Things Done methodology which creates lists in relation to where you are or what you have access to and your Master Task List follows that idea. I LOVE your creative spin to add JOY to a seemingly daunting task of creating the master list to begin with then enjoying checking it off by doing the stuff on the list. THANK YOU so much! I have a ton of sticker books that I usually struggle with using because I’ve never really been able to add them without destroying the actual function of the planning pages. I CAN DO THIS! I also love those sticker books so will enjoying yet even more stickers to my growing collection but now… I have hope and anticipation to combine fun with function! Have a great day! 🙂

My OCD went into hypermode thinking you were going to do this with the paper upside down. SOOOOO glad you turned it right side up. YAY!!!
I often categorize them which is how I use a vertical weekly lay out. I have never done them as beautifully as your --- yet! Thank you for the inspiration.

Thanks for the great ideas for a master list. I really need to write one to help me not be so overwhelmed also. I always wrote lists and usually separated by categories but never decorated. I think I will do that next time. In the past i just used a boring desk calendar (not a decorative planner) and i found it helpful to look over my master list and pick out the things I planned to do that week and either assign them to a specific day or list on the side for anytime during that week. It helped me not to be overwhelmed by just looking at a small to do list vs everything that needs to get done. But a big master list really helped me to get organized. I stopped doing that when I switched to only using my phone (and all the scraps I jotted lists on). After losing my entire phone calendar last year, I found decorative paper planning and it has helped me so much to be productive and help with my anxiety. Thanks for all your videos and would love to get the sticker book.😊

I love that you're so open about your life. You inspire me. I found happy planner and your videos in 2019 after my husband passed away. So hearing about your husband and your son has helped me with my grieving. And me move forward.
    Thank you thank you

As someone with ADHD, I find myself making things a game or coming up with ways to remember/associate ideas to make sense of something. Regardless of it being an ADHD thing, I'm happy that I am not the only one who functions like that. Thank you for sharing as much as you do with us!
p.s. you can never lose a game that you create the rules for ;)

I didn't think to categorize my to-dos/brain dumps! I just make a big long list and rope my kiddos into helping my cross the items off. I am going to try to categorize it next time I make one! Thanks for the inspiration. I know it has been a rough year for you, but you are such an inspiration for overcoming allllllll of the obstacles that are thrown in your way ❤️❤️
