Thank you for all the good information...I have a form of color blindness that causes color to run together.. Purple and brown...red and pink ect... I need to use a color wheel.. that may really help...Peach and gray are really beautiful together. :)
You did a great job explaining this because I have never really thought about it. As an artist it just comes naturally to me and I couldn't explain it if i tried. I also think the value of the colors is important too, which is why brights or pastels all go together. Sometimes
It may seem tacky, but I like finding new color combos when folding or hanging my laundry. Sometimes it's easier to see it with larger patches of color.
Your spreads are so beautiful. My life isn’t super exciting so my spreads are a lot simpler, but I am in awe over yours. They’re definitely made with a lot of love!
Thanks so much for this. I'd just noticed that my last few spreads had started to become kind of chaotic color-wise. I started working on next week's spread as I watched this, and picked two colors with confidence.
This was so timely, Mary Ellen! I had no idea this was coming up next. Remember in the comments of your previous video I was asking about color swatches (I'll explain over there.) Thank you so very much!!
I know…I do too, but it was becoming stressful trying to make sure I fit them in each time. That’s just me trying to cut out what is causing me to feel overwhelmed
In your videos you often say things like “that’s a cool blue not a warm one”. I know there are cold and warm colours but I’m not sure I could pick warm and cold within a particular colour. Was hoping you might talk about this but still a useful video for non art-trained people like me. Thanks for sharing.

Totally amazing spreads and the colors all are beautifully put together. I hope that I will be able to make spreads that are like yours. TY
Thanks for explaining the color wheel so well!

So many ways to figure out the color palette.. Thank you for such an informative one...
Love your greenish-teal nails in the snippet with the color wheel. Do you do your own or go to a salon? 😍

Sometimes, I use washy tape as inspiration for colors to use on spreads
Any tips on getting free clip art & png….. I don’t know how to print them without weird background showing. Please and thank you!
