Oh my! My dad was in the oil industry and worked at One Main Place. He was there when JR had the phone call on the payphone and had to wait for filming to complete before he could walk down the hall from his office. Later, his company moved to Campbell Center and the Dallas production moved to that location for filming. He always thought Dallas was following him!
No way, that's crazy!! And awesome! I'm sure it was annoying to the people who were trying to work in those offices, but for us Dallas fans it's enviable for sure! Thanks for stopping by our channel and sharing that story, love it!
I have to watch these DALLAS video several times, because they are too good to watch only once. I`m thrilled about your DALLAS videos. Thank you very much for showing us the filming locations.
Dear dear Abby and Keith. As a devoted fan who must have watched each season 20X since the DVD launch in the early 2000's, it brings me such joy to see the locations you have presented to us from the various seasons of Dallas and to discover that I am no the only super fan who if he lived in Dallas might have attempted to do so himself. The amount of work and research the two of you have put into your delightful videos is astounding to me. I can share with you that I became a Location Manager here in Toronto because of Dallas and enjoyed a 32 year career in series, feature films and TV movies. For millennials who may never know...the series was much watch back in the 80's. You simply hurried home to watch with family and friends. With technology and streaming services, it saddens me that the excitement level back then often at a fevered pitch on Friday evenings no longer exists for live on air viewing. But what fun it was to prepare for amd relax with a night of watching like no other. Your 80's life brings back such fond memories for me and my family from that period and I thank you - especially during this difficult period for being the day brighteners that you are. With much gratitude and blessings to you both...
Thank you so much for your kind words Joe!! We are happy to know a devoted Dallas fan is enjoying our videos. It has truly been a labor of love hunting down these locations and filming these videos! During all the quarantine downtime, watching Dallas and looking for locations has been a fun hobby and a real bright spot for us, and we are fast becoming diehard fans of the show ourselves. It's SO good!! That's so cool that Dallas inspired you to become a location manager. That sounds like an amazing career! Thank you for taking the time to write such a nice comment, and we wish you all the best as well. Take care, Abby & Keith
Big thanks for your Dallas videos. As a big Dallas fan I enjoyed watching them. Dallas was very popular TV show here in Finland. It was Friday evening's highlight. I haven't watched the show since 80's, have waited for a rerun, but no luck yet. I really need to buy a DVD box.
Thank you so much, and greetings from the USA! Here we are able to watch the entire series through Amazon Prime video or Freevee. I hope you can find a way to watch the reruns. It's still a fantastic show, after all these years.
I’ve just started watching Dallas again from the beginning during lockdown- up to Season 3 now. These videos are amazing- always wondering as I’ve watched the show what the locations look like now. And now I know! Thanks guys- keep them coming!
Thanks Stephen! We're so glad you're enjoying our filming location videos. We were able to visit places from seasons 1-3 last month and hope to visit Dallas again soon to find more. We also started binge-watching Dallas during the lockdown. It's great!!
This is great! My husband and I have been watching the series during the pandemic. We are up to season 12 now! It’s so fun to see these places since it is all fresh in our minds. We’ve even talked about a trip to Dallas to see it all in person 😂 once you are hooked on Dallas it’s all about Dallas!
Cool! Us too, but y’all are way ahead of us... we’re on season 9 now. Of course, we end up watching the first half of each season multiple times as we try and puzzle out where the scenes were filmed in Dallas. Best pandemic hobby ever!
The Store. If you looked real close, the fake sign was a cloth or vinyl that looked like a sign. We found the exact place a few years ago where they hung The Store sign. On another note: There was an art piece in front of the Campbell Centre, aka: Barnes Wentworth that was a regular fixture in the shots. It's no longer there and no one knows where it went. I contacted the Dallas Museum of Art to see if they had it. Also, the big red art piece in front of the later Ewing Oil and JRE Industries which is the Bank of America Building ended up at the Museum.
That's so interesting! Thanks for the insider tips Larry. It's nice to meet someone who gets as excited about these little details as we do, ha! We'd been wondering about that red art piece at Ewing Oil. Now I want to visit the museum. Guess we'll have to add it to our long list of places to visit next time! Thanks for watching!! Stay tuned for part 2 and also season 3 filming locations, coming soon!
@@Our80sLife I was in error on the red sculpture. It is at Love Field. Just Google Love Field red sculpture. Whoever bought the tower several years ago wanted it removed.
This is so great! Love the intro! Im amazed you guys got to see up at the observation deck of the reunion tower! I guess I never saw the show Dallas, but I love the format you guys are doing with this!
Thanks Ryan! Reunion Tower Geo-deck is still open (if you don't mind paying $18 for an elevator ride to the top, yikes!) That includes the cheesy commemorative green screen photos (as featured in the intro, lol!) We never watched Dallas as kids either, but we started binge-watching it (free on imdb channel through Amazon Prime) and now we're hooked, ha!
You guys are hilarious, with that intro! LOL. The inside of the building reminds me of the CN tower layout, and the building next door reminds me of the CN Tower as well.
The Reunion Tower also was where SueEllen is with Nick in a hotel, looking for potential spots for a Valentine Lingerie boutique and she looked to see JR going up glass elevator w/ Kimberly, kissing. Also, what’s the deal with so many businesses and malls doing away with water features? You finding these filming spots is kind of like a fun treasure hunt for us loyal fans. Excellent editing.
Thanks again!! It's like a scavenger hunt for us, believe me! Being a Dallas native, I've had fun finding new (and familiar) places in my own hometown. We live in Kansas now though, so we've gotta plan another trip soon! PS. What is the deal with water features? Maybe they've fallen out of favor or they're too much upkeep. The employee at Reunion Tower told me that particular one was removed because people kept trying to swim in there, lol!
Thanks!! We're glad you're enjoying our videos. Would love to have that box set, how cool! We recommend following the Facebook page called Dallas Fanzine. We also belong to a FB group called Memories of Dallas, which is for people who grew up in Dallas. Some of the group members where kind enough to help us in our search for a few of these locations. Thanks for watching :)
So cool y'all! Y'all had a lot of places to hit and so much work went into showing each one and how it looked then and now, really amazing! So much detail, really cool and interesting! Are y'all streaming Dallas from somewhere? Now you have me wanting to go back and watch an old episode or two, LOL!! Take care, and have a wonderful and blessed day ---Stacy 😍💚
Thanks so much Stacy!! These filming location videos are a LOT of work, but they're probably our favorite videos to make! Yes, we are streaming Dallas on Imdb channel (through Amazon Prime.) They have the entire series, yay!! There are commercials though, but we can just pretend it's the 80's when we couldn't avoid them, ha!
Very cool videos. I forgot how great looking Victoria Principal was back in the 80's, wow! Incidentally, Abby reminds me of my sister in law a lot. Keep up the great work. 😎
Thanks!! You're right, it's been lots of research for these videos. This was the perfect project during covid though, and it offered us a good excuse to binge-watch Dallas, lol! I thought it was so funny when I figured out they had gotten into their car to drive across the street, ha! Gotta love that movie magic!
I’m so geeked on these Dallas videos! Thank you!!! If you could ever find the crossroads where Pam has her fatal car crash with the truck, would love to see that spot. 😀
We'll do our best! We did get an insider tip about the building where she contemplates jumping off, eek! So many locations to find still! We're currently binging our way through season 4. It's a geeky, fun covid hobby for sure! Thanks for watching JC!
OOOH, gotcha! That was confusing because it looks closer to the base of the tower in the scene (which I watched over and over again.) No wonder! I ended up asking an employee at Reunion who told me about the water feature, which I had long since forgotten about. Of course, everything looks different in that area since the demo of Reunion Arena. We have some happy memories from that place :(
Great sleuthing. 1:50 Funny thing too is that in one episode they were having a hurricane, and everyone was wearing coats, and you could see the breath of the horses. First off, it's hot during hurricanes and second there are no hurricanes in Dallas. lol 4:32 I just knew all of those water features would be turned off or nonexistent. So sad the times we live in. 7:00 Good to see a working fountain. Whatever happened to elegance? 8:31 Maybe they had a valet. And hey, they are the Ewings. I just now got that they are called ew. 15:24 There was also a mall with that same tile done by a woman. I wonder if that Gatsby's interior was that actual location. You can tell they did enclose that entrance in glass.
Hey, thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts! That hurricane episode is one of the most ridiculous things we've ever seen... but of course, we love it anyway! I don't know why so many of the cool fountains were taken out, but we are happy to report the last time we went back to City Hall that one had water again, yay!
I recently started downloading and watching Dallas again but cant remeber Morgan Fairchild as Jenna. was she really in season 2? I recently also watched the New Dallas season. And it seems like the interior of the Ranch looks very much different than the renovated Ranch as it is today. It actually looks like a whole different house. Can you confirm that?
Morgan Fairchild played Jenna in season 2, but she only appeared in a few episodes. The interiors at Southfork Ranch were actually never used in the original series, but they did use them for the newer Dallas reboot. The majority of the TV show interiors were filmed on a soundstage in California, which would explain why it looks completely different!
Yes!! The next video will show all the places from "The Runaway" which is actually one of our favorite episodes for some reason. I'm sure you won't be surprised to learn that "Austin" is actually in Dallas (and "Waco" is in nearby Waxahachie.) HA! Gotta love that movie magic!
@@Our80sLife yea i wouldn't be surprised but maybe bit disappointed. But i really love that episode along with the dove hunt i think . The runaway really has such a 70's vibe to it. Cannot wait to watch . I would be in my glory visiting these locations like you both are .

Hi Trey, good question! The exterior establishing shot is actually stock footage of a place called Madame Wong’s West that used to be in L.A. (closed in 1987.) We were unable to determine the location of the interior where that scene was filmed. 🙁 Thanks for watching our video!
