We are currently watching season 7. Of course, we watch each episode multiple times, pausing and rewinding trying to figure out where we'll be going next, ha! @Our80sLife  3 года назад +1

      The Stockyards are still thriving as a tourist attraction (and working stockyards with cattle auctions and weekly rodeo shows!) If you're ever in the Dallas area, the Ft. Worth Stockyards are a must-see! We didn't go there in this video, but just around the corner is Billy Bob's Texas, the world's largest honkey tonk. That's where Jenna works in season 7, so we're looking forward to visiting that location on our next visit to DFW.

    I have to disagree with you on one thing. Sue Ellen woke up in her Mercury Station Wagon at DFW terminal B, which was named 2W in 1980. It was the Braniff terminal and the beginning of the shot you see a redish plane (727) land. That was a Braniff International Airways plane. That terminal still looks the same there is not a parking garage there now or then. Sorry you got it wrong, Dallas native here. If you can go back to DFW and go to terminal B. It still looks the same. In 1980, Terminal E was Terminal 4E. Otherwise this is a great video. Love your videos.

    • @Our80sLife
      @Our80sLife  3 года назад +1

      Thanks for watching our videos Casey! I'm also a Dallas native; although, we currently live in Kansas. In preparation for this video, I spent WAY too many hours watching Dallas and studying Google Maps, ha! Anyway, I still contend it's Terminal E based on the proximity (and location) of the highway, which can be seen on the left of the shot (west of the terminal in question) however, I'm sure you're right about the terminal with the Braniff airplane flying over. In fact, we see that same airplane shot used over an over again throughout the series, in basically every establishing airport shot, lol! Here's what I'm thinking: the scene contains two different shots of two different terminals (both B and E.) The airplane landing (terminal B) followed by Sue Ellen waking up (in front of terminal E, on the north end.) Gotta love that TV magic! They also filmed some at Love Field (season 5.) You'll definitely recognize it; although, it sure has changed! Glad you're enjoying our Dallas series.

    I loved Ray and Donna together. They really added a moral fiber to the show as an anchor couple that made it through their problems. Hated that they visited them up. I liked Jack and Jenna as a couple. Gosh, TV will never be that good again. Love that the White Elephant didn’t change. As Ellie Ewing said, “can’t some things be as they’ve always been? Does everything have to change?”

    Was this the Season that Pam goes to Port Aransas to supervise a modeling shoot for The Store? I remember the models running down the dock, with the boats etc. I don't know if you visited there, and I don't know for sure if the show actually filmed there. Maybe it was filmed at an entirely different location but made to look like the Port Aransas, Mustang Island area?

    • @Our80sLife
      @Our80sLife  2 года назад +1

      We remember that episode, but it was likely filmed in California. Each season, filming would take place in the Dallas area over the summer months, then move to California for the remainder of the season. So, the first dozen or so episodes would be Dallas locations and the rest were in California. If the models were on a dock with boats (and it was later in the season, which I believe it was) I'm sure it was in California. There was mention of Port Aransas in several episodes throughout the series, but as far as we know they never actually filmed there. Thanks for watching our video!

    As a 10 year old kid I remember staying at the Sheraton by the galleria with my dad…swimming in the pool and sitting in the hot tub being off to the side…right where JR sat in his wheel chair talking to Ray.
    It was a very nice hotel then and if I remember correctly you could swim under a glass wall when in the pool to go from the interior to exterior of the pool. It was around 1987-88 when I was there.
    It’s a shame what that pool area looks like now

    I knew the people who owned the Krebs house out in Parker. I think it was McQueery lane or something like that but it was all country with hardly any other houses around. The owners daughter attended my church. She invited us out to watch them film an episode during the 4th season. They got paid well and got to keep some freebies like a fence, some lawn furniture and new gravel for the drive. South fork wasn't that far away, just a bit west. All the roads around there then (early 80s) were just two lane blacktop or gravel.
