You know what makes this car special, it's the care and attention and commitment Jack shows it. It's not a museum piece like Jay Leno's cars, he doesn't just throw money at it. He uses his wits and ingenuity to get results with a limited budget. The car becomes part of Jacks history, not just a consumer item to be thrown out when the latest model shows up. The garage too is a work of genius. There's probably a Japanese or zen word for it, but I just call it a place for everything, and everything in it's place. Truly an inspiration.
Jack Olsen`s garage is always inspiring to me. The way he figured out what works for him, with the limited room and available resources is great. I guess I have to tidy up my own garage now, trying to improve as well...
This is what a guy with a Porsche really is about....driving it hard on street and track...not worrying about the stone chips on the hood like most porsche owners...its serving its purpose...thanx for showing and sharing the true passion
I came to the Channel to see the initial vidéo (not for the first Time 😉) at the end I wanted some news from this Man and I came across here! Thank you really and thank you for changing the tail lights ( only thing I didn't like)
Fabulous to see Jack Olson again. Clear thoughts. Clear visions. Marvelous outcomes. I remember his Petrolicious video from a few years ago and also the 911R series of videos he participated in - all wonderful. He genuinely seems happy and that is great to see. Cheers from Round Rock.
Jack! Your video that was shared by Petrolicious 8 years back served as my inspiration for what I hope to be my own garage one day! I have begun my own RUclips channel around the beauty that is the creative process of the automobile. Your stuff is truly inspiring!
I've been reading about Jack Olsen for about 10 years, first hearing of him through GarageJournal forum. Inspirational, seeing him do so much in a small space. He has no room for excuses, only solutions.

I have been a petrolicious fan since the channel started and watched his first video you showcased all those years ago multiple times. I'm glad you did a follow-up I'm glad he's still has the car progressing and still enjoying the car and the garage
You are a prime example of a version of what alot of car enthusiasts invent of themselves in their head or aspire to do one day but in real life Bravo good sir, keep on keepin on.
Like the lift idea, we see these all the time at industrial auctions. May have to look into it. , tired of jacking up the 912. Best of luck in your shop !
Enjoyed watching Jack's garage take shape years ago when I perused the Garage Journal. He had some great ideas that spawned ideas for my garage back then and the shop I have now on my acreage. Nice video of a a down to earth regular guy with a vision. 👍👍
That's awesome, great shop. In my own tiny shop I once finished for the day, stepped outside for some cooler air, and a semi went by. The road was only ten yards away. A sliver of steel was whipped up, maybe from the sweeping up I just did. It went right into my eye, as I stood outside the shop. I was alone. No cellphone with me. I closed up and drove for an hour and a half to a hospital. Two tears and a puncture in my cornea. Jack, please wear your safety glasses more often when you use your drill press etc.
Simplicity is a huge key for success, the old is still a very useful and updated for an everyday usage. In world that is evolving way too fast, this just shows how we can use and make with the old objects. If we all use a little bit more of the used objects, the planet will clearly appreciate. New doesn't means that it's better.
What a beautiful car and wonderful garage. I’d love to de clutter my dads garage. He has a three car, filled with turbos and car components. A project never seems to be finished but that’s the life of a mechanic.
Is so awesomely smart ! I saw way back one video of you preparing to go racing with you porsche to go racing then back home 👍 great work great thinking 👍 am saving money to buy me my air cooled porsche when i retire in about 10 years ! Keep on the good work man!! 👍
That's so Inspirating. That's how exactly i wanna be from here to 15 more years. 😍 i know i can do it. I know we all can make it someday with passion and efford!
I would have liked to see more of ashop tour. I like that we have insight into his mythology. But, the shop itself would've been great to see. Every corner.
@@3ducs Didn't see them, getting old. Lovely shop, fun place to visit. I like the pull down work benches. A neighbourhood old man used to have pull down train sets! Really cool, all O gauge.
That fold down bench is a good idea, but it looks like a struggle to lower it down due to the weight, something simple like a couple of struts from a boot lid (trunk) would sort it.
Thanks. I originally planned to have an assist system like you describe. But it got too complicated, in terms of keeping it hidden in the wall. I decided I could just carry the weight of the table. But as I get older, I might need to reconsider that.
Two beautiful wonders of the world: Jack's garage, and Jack's jawline.
Wat
He has more of an engineering mind than a lot of the engineers I know
I guarantee you its due to all of his family being engineers. Who you're around growing up shapes who you turn out to be.
The only thing he built was his ego he didn’t build a dam thing in that garage!

Love this. This guy has an engineer’s mind and a workman’s ingenuity! Great car!
I love how used that car is! Well done.
love it. thank you. maximizing what you have speaks to me.
As much as I love Black Beauty, Jack's garage is still more impressive, and I am constantly inspired to make spaces more useable because of it.
What a story, reminds of my garage setup that has recently come together, with a lift and track car; albeit, it’s a BMW :)
Thank you, Jack for such an inspiring story!
Most people just fill their garages with crap, but this one is filled with memories.
He inspired me and my projects from when he first featured here.

Such a good video. Good work. The way the hood closes at the end of the video. 😳. Is that normal for a long hood?
It's a lightweight fiberglass hood. And the owner is nervous and self-conscious because people are filming him.
