I would love it that if you got a mermaid baby, there would be a special pop up notification, where there is coral reefs and seashells and fish plushies around it, and the background would be teal instead of blue... And instead of a normal bassinet, we could have a seashell bassinet, and for the mermaid mother / father, there can be an option for them to summon water hallucinations, like water puppets, to amuse the baby.
I love the attention to detail they gave to this expansion pack, especially with the whole ‘keeping the island clean will have noticeable effects’ but, and I know that it’s probably unfair of me to think this because mermaids weren’t exactly the /main/ focus, but I just wish they had more things to do in the ocean. I’m still yet to play further as a mermaid but they are far more enjoyable than sims 3
Elizabeth a way of living in the ocean forever is to call over a human, do the sirens call, and all your needs will go up. You won’t have to get out and fill your needs

I never like the mermaids into I bought the pack and found this ability. It literally blows vampires plasma bit out of the water because sirens call replenish everything. I dont think the mermaids are done good enough. There's no under water caves or areas no under water exploration. Sims3 did it better you cant even see your sim dive in the shallow reefs to collect shells or anything. But people refuse to address these issues cause "omg new sim expansion. I'm a blind sheep this is the best expansion ever."

I'm really disappointed from the mermaids. I pay 40 bucks for this pack and after 20 minutes playing as a mermaid i've seen everything...and nothing is really usefull. I wish they've made the mermaids more like the vampires...with leveling, skilling etc.
Mermaids are a rather small portion of the gameplay of Island Living. I reckon they'd be way more detailed if they came with a separate Game Pack, but I think people would not like to pay 20,- extra for that either. No one ever wins with The Sims 4.
The vampires is not as good though because you cannot see the sunlight or anything else you have to stay in the dark all the time but I didn’t know vampires can do a lot more
I navigated my mermaid sim to swim to his 'to be' vampire lover. And i also had him summon thunderstorms. I couldn't stop laughing to myself because instead of going to his future lover he swam all the way to the shore only to get thunderstruck by lightning... I mean, they say sims 2 is unpredictable. But sims 4 has also surprised me almost everytime I played it. One time Kathryn died from being so angry at her baby daddy Lothario for making out with Nina, I only wanted to stir up some drama but that one shocked me.
Only thing I’ll add is that changing the weather to thunderstorm is available for good mermaids. They can change the weather, whether they are good or bad
Honestly I thi k mermaids are a great occult! Like what else do you want them to do honestly? They have tee singing abilities, they can influence weather and fishing spots, talk to fish ext... What they are missing is their environment!!!! Like in sims 3 I'm sorry but mermaids couldn't do a goddamn thing, BUT they had the whole underwater world to explore so of course that makes them wayyy better than in TS4.

Frankly, island living disapointed me, and now my only interest from this pack is having a mermaid but...how do we know if our mermaid is good, bad or neutral! All the mermaids and mermen I create end up being good I guess judging by their powers!
if you want a bad mermaid (aka a siren) when you create them make sure you give them bad traits those being (evil,mean,jealous) and etc and if you want a good one then give them good traits

I just got the pack and I went out with one of my mermaids for fun and I met this guy and his wife was with him but I didn’t know it was his wife, I started doing the charmer’s lullaby thing on him and he started getting flirty with me but kept rejecting me bc he had a wife. Long story short I kept insisting on getting with him and I ended up marrying him... After marrying him I found out that he had a whole family with two kids and tbh I don’t feel bad. I LOVE BEING A MERMAID. THE END. (I make him visit his children all the time 😔)
Lol this just happen to me.... I had One of my sims get impregnated by a NPC using the MC and the wicked whims mod to impregnate her. To do a random challenge i came up with it was fun. When I found out that the man she was pregnant by had a wife. I felt so bad the only reason how I knew is when he rejected one of my sims. I guess he did not like her. he had no trouble sleeping with my other sims until I got to her. I had to find his house so he can divorce her. Than I had found out his wife was pregnant so i couldn't do it., but I started to play with him in the end I made them. Until i got tired of him regretting my sims so i had no choice but to break them up. Now he is a divorce man with literally 8 baby mama's in still counting. I am having a little bit to much fun with that. Pretty soon he going to have a town full of kids 😀😮💨. My biggest fear is that when they grew up they are going to start dating each other in I can not have that..... 🙁😀 (I am most definitely not a homewrecker in Real life. Only in virtual worlds) 😭😭😭

evil mermaids have access to "sirens call", which will compel a targeted sim to get in the water with the mermaid (if they previous were not in the water) and then she or he will drag them to their doom, this will fill all the mermaids needs. however if the sims needs are low enough, it'll KILL THEM by drowning

Bro my human sim moved to Sulani and she caught a real beautiful fish and I wanted to mount it. Fast forward she invites her fiance to live with her and he starts crying constantly at the fact that there is a fish mounted on the wall. He was also upset because he ate to much fish and he felt bad.

If you have a sim go diving I'm pretty sure I heard someone said going into first person mode will make it so you can see
