I love how it is different from the previous seasons it makes it less predictable and more exciting for me (although my suspicions were confirmed) . Can't wait for part too.
I'm glad somebody finally brought up how weird it is that part of acting can involve kissing and almost having sex with people who aren't your partner. 😮
My theory is that rhys isn't the killer and Joe is ,it's all in his head and if you watch the series you'll realise that rhys does not interact with anyone else but Joe showing he isn't actually there .rhys actually exists but he doesn't even know who Joe is.
Ngl I went into this season thinking it'll just be Joe being the same person again and while his actions don't completely abandon him I was so pleasantly surprised to see that the season was formulated as a who-done-it and so far I am hooked. Great job Penn and the whole You team!

That he comes across as this more prim and proper professor now in London is indeed a welcome change from the prior seasons. And I fully approve of his desire to not get so bogged down in a solely romantic role. That is very savvy action for any actor.
I am glad part 2 will clear up some of the plot. I personally didn’t feel a chemistry between kate & joe, like he wasn’t exactly obsessing over her like we’ve seen. It felt more obligatory, because he was being black-mailed, and not genuinely obsessing per-say. Also Kate’s reacting to Gemma being slain didn’t carry well for me, I mean she’s not a sociopath, just emotionally contained. So it just didn’t feel like a natural response. But I can see how that helps maintain the illusion of the actual killer as a plot device.
You mean, Joe is actually emotionally connecting to somebody for real and it isn't an obsession? It's the most interesting part of what they're currently doing. Showing the flaw is his perception of "love" itself. The initial lack of chemistry feeds right into that.

This season he’s trying to detach himself entirely from obsessing and simply escape his past. The only reason he engaged with kate was because he didn’t want to be caught.
I woke up at 2am when it got released so that I could watch all five episodes before I went to work. Finished all five with thirty minutes to spare before I had to leave. Was soooooooooo good and it was a nice change. Great work Penn!

Although romantic scenes can adrenaline spike one’s viewing experience and can be necessary to demonstrate motive and chemistry between characters, they’ve often been used more gratuitously. I love that comparison to The Office’s Jim and Pam; they were able to show their passion for one another without sex scenes. Good for you, Penn. It seems you want to be seen as more than a sex symbol. I noticed Joe’s monologue voice this season is raspier whereas in previous seasons, tantalizing. I like this choice because it shows Joe’s exhaustion in his journey and makes him less alluring. Viewers should not admire this murderer like most have been. Even though stalking was his “super power” this season, I really hope people don’t identify with that. 🙅🏻♀️gross “You” always shines in Joe’s wit, one-liners, and his twisted sense of justice. Despite Joe’s willingness to murder, there is a bit of honor in him and how he defends others. I’m curious to see in season four’s part two how this theme of the “lesser of two evils” plays out. 👏🏼Let’s👏🏼go!
*SPOILER ALERT* speaking on the basement fire thing, once Joe realized Reece was a figment of his imagination.. I wish they would touched on how that actually played out. Did Joe put himself in chains and set the basement on fire to make it seem as if he was innocent? Typical Joe but I wish they would’ve explained how that went in the show
When Joe starts to remember fragments of what happened exactly, there is a scene that shows him lightning on fire the place and then cuffing himself. It’s just a few seconds, so it’s easy to miss, but it’s there. :)
Joe didnt kill enough people this season for me 😭 I enjoyed the suspense, a lot of the new characters are unlikeable and annoying though ESPECIALLY Kate. Penn is killing it as always, I was so excited but frustrated when I saw the next episodes come out in March 😭
