      @@CinemaBlend Every time I watch a Tarantino movie in order to enjoy it I have to put myself into the mindset of 17 year old in other words a child. He is the end result of a long process that divorced movies from their roots in theater, literature, poetry, etc. He is pretty images but functionally illiterate. The dialog is inane & puerile. His movies are full of live action cartoon characters. They take a person back to a time when they wore a diaper & ate pablum, picked their nose & ate the snot, & gorged themselves with candy bars & soda pop. I'm not saying that you can't enjoy a Tarantino movie but when I watch one of his films I find the same thing in them as I do when I watch The Three Stooges.

      @@EC-ol8nz i've heard no one else mention this yet, but the Movie Lot scenes (so Kurt Russell character, Bruce Lee (etc)) all comes right after Brad's character is shown on the roof recollecting what happened, so what is shown in the movie is not actually within the reality of the movie's events - what is shown is actually Brad's character's recollection of those events. Memory is often subjective and rarely fully accurate so what we see as the portrayal of Bruce in the movie is not actually how Bruce behaved in the timeline of the movie but how Brad's character remembers him behaving.

      OMG are u fr serious ? That's funny bc that's probably my most LEAST favorite flick QT has been involved in creating out of ALL the rest..like if I had to make a list of QT films best to worst in chronological order type of thing like I HAVE to say I am really thinking that it's the WORST one but PLEASE pray tell as to WHY ? U love it so much? What is in it to YOU, that plays out so perfectedly & why? Do u personally believe that it was made just for you? Like change my MIND ...🤷

    • @Jeikuxd

      @aprillong everyone has different tastes but even skillfully and craftsmanship of the film is not his worst... but if ur talking about story-wise or entertainment wise it's his worst then yea I can see your point of view cause everyone's tastes are different. But it being his worst film is inaccurate.

    One of the best touches of the film is definitely Rick coming back from the line drop. Really upped his stakes...brilliance on both DiCaprio for coming up with it and Tarantino for seeing it's wisdom.
    PS: "Can you blame a Borgia for being a Borgia?" Maybe the most important Dramatic question...Mr. Tarantino is one of the last of the Mohicans. Hope I'm wrong but hats off to him BIG TIME..!

    Great interview. Love OUATIH. I absolutely loved the ending. It was releasing watching Cliff simply destroy the murderers (along with an awesome PitBull 😄. ). It was a release of stored aggression for so many people against those criminals. I was born shortly after the Murders. But growing up all I heard was how it changed America. Q gave us back that America- if at least in a Movie. I love how Q explains how the ending basically neuters Manson and the family. There needs to be a short clip in his next movie showing the 3 way fight between Leo, Brad and Leo’s “wife” on who kept the dog after Cliff got out of hospital 🤣🤣

    24:40, I do agree, but not everyone has easy access to film or ways to process it. if you have the resources and want a film look then great, use actual film, but for the short film maker those grain and flicker effects are invaluable.

    • @id-null
      @id-null 2 года назад

      I think the discussion was largely about big budget movies hence them name dropping fellow multi-million dollar film makers. I agree with him as well, but there's also something magical in the fact I as a solo person, could go out and film something on a cheap digital camera, and use effects to achieve a close to film look right in my home.

    Good questions, Good interview, only problem I had is that everytime Quentin told a joke or answered a question, somebody shifted the conversation to another question. In a short interview, I can understand that, but in a podcast that's well over 2 hours, you should allow us to process what was just said

    …just finished listening to this interview, it was very interesting and easy on the ears and brain. Great and thoughtful questions.
    I would loved to hear more about Jackie Brown and why Deathproof is his least favorite of his films (I thoroughly enjoyed it, though KILL BILL is my arguably my favorite film of his). It’s very pleasing to hear how much he enjoys speaking to others about the films of his they enjoy as well as films that inspired him, not to mention his vast knowledge of film period. Finally, I listened to this after his sit down at Club Random which was a horrible listen AND watch, Maher constantly spoke over him and laughed unnecessarily constantly where the was no reason. It was frustrating! So thank you guys for giving QT the time and respect to offer his thoughts and answers to your questions given the frantic lead up to the “hang out” you all enjoyed. I’ll have a listen to your podcast soon!

    Nice interview. Great getting to hear Tarantino actually just talk. Truly a legend.
    It was pretty apparent that the interviewers were trying their hardest not to make it obvious how starstruck they were and to not come off as just a couple giddy fans. I definitely cringed a little at the tattoo bit and the begging Quentin not to retire bit toward the end. Also could have done without the "behind-the-interview" part at the end-it's not exactly embarrassing per se but it's just kind of like.. own it guys. I mean, don't be fake or anything but you don't need to advertise how big of a deal this is for you, just be fucking cool. If I were you, I'd fucking want to die at the thought of Quentin Tarantino ever hearing that post-interview part.

    I love that he is such a fanboy of Mad Magazine that he sounded a bit surprised that they were thrilled with the idea of collabing with him (aka- arguably the most legendary film maker of all time) at the over-the-hill state that they were in at the time
