thanks, I have the subscription.
As an Air 2S owner, I will wait for the Air 3S/pro.
I like the lack of restrictions with the M3P. I would fly the Air 3 a lot less. Maybe the M4P will have a better camera and side sensors, in which case I'll pull the trigger on that instead. I see the Air 3 as a professional tool and a worthy upgrade but for me, there are too many flying limitations.
Thanks Matt, as always very good vid but I'm 100% sticking with my mini 3 pro. 👍
I have the mini 3 pro and I got the Air 3. Your videos always are informative and from your video I know I made the right choice on getting the Air 3. Thank for your video and the work you put in making these videos
Really appreciate your kind feedback - thank you!
I think it really boils down to size. That is the main difference. Of course a bigger drone will have more features. But you have to have it with you
The size really isnt that big of a difference. Unless you are using a size specific bag and then obviously the one wont fit, but for the majority, its going to fit in whatever bag you are already using. Its Own bag fits inside of My bag even.. Fly more kit included.
You’ve made zero good points.
@@crisnmaryfam7344 but if you wanna be more discrete, particularly in a city environment then nothin beats the mini
That 250 gram thing is Real though.@@kaimultivideo4956
Great analysis. Love your channel. Currently own mini 3 pro. I think I will stick with it for now.
Considering you’re 90% chance posting vert video to social media, 2k is still getting down sampled, so looks good. Flying m3p in vert mode always bugs me because you’re limited on how far to the sides you can see flying.
Exactly lol
i will just wait for the mini 4 pro
Is there any release date for that? Dji mini pro 4?
@@Angelux31 they release every 2 years. So i expect 2024 or EoY
For sure them two drones cover you for legal and weather conditions and what with that Air 3 having C1 for EU and considering that the combo kit with RC 2 controller and 3 batteries costs less than decent mobile phone, well you can't go wrong . I kept my Mini 3 pro for now at least till Mini 4 comes out but as for older dromes like Mini 2 and Air 2 sold them without a second thought.
Superb review Sir!; just two comments; the Mini 3 Pro does have in 4K 3 x digital zoom with very little loss of quality (however not quite as good as the Air3 due to the new sensor); descend speed maybe faster on the Air 3 however many a Drone has crashed due to descending "to fast" ; particularly in high winds due to prop wash !; regardless, we are so lucky to have these amazing Drones and choices!!!!
I flew my Air 3 for the first time yesterday (coming from the Air 2S) and I have to say, the Air 3 sounds much quieter and much less annoying than the Air 2S. And the 2nd camera is crazy awesome too.
Mini 3 pro IS THE BEST! You can easily travel with DJI Mini 3 pro, it is not subject to any restrictions, you do NOT need a drone license to fly the DJI Mini 3 pro and you do NOT need to register your dji mini 3 pro with FAA and the flight time is close to 40 minutes! The 4K camera is great, the 48 MP camera takes fantastic pictures and the vertical shooting mode is a huge plus, perfect for shorts!
I usually take 7 spare batteries with me and I can still put them all in my carry on bag when I fly. If you try to do that with Air 3, you would exceed the weight limit and will have to check in your bag and guess what, the next thing you know, your bag with your Air 3 and everything else "gets lost." Think about it, just a single battery of Air 3 is as big as the mini 3 pro and weighs more than DJI mini 3 pro!!! That's crazy!!! DJIi mini 3 pro IS THE WAY TO GO!!!
By the way, as an experienced drone pilot, I can tell you that you will NOT use any of the extra bells and whistle (such as auto pilot, route plotting) that Air 3 comes with.
Don't waste your time and money with Air 3, get yourself a DJI Mini 3 pro instead and MOST IMPORTANTLY go with your DJI Mini 3 pro ANYWHERE AND FLY IT EVERYWHERE!!!!
Hi, yes the 3pro is awsome. With all its advantages I don't need another one.
I very much like and appreciate Matts very valuable tutorials. What, personnally spoken, i dont like/need are those pure advertising vids for DJI like this actual one. Although i understand it's part of Matts income.
@@floridaoutdooradventures8981bla bla bla m3pro fanboy 😂 If you cant afford the money for a better drone or have the discipline to make your drone license, then better be quiet! 😉 The air 3 is flying in the same category as the m3pro, has a double camera setup and omnidirectional colision sensors, so what are you talking about captain capslock?? 😅 The m3pro is the best in in the class she belongs too, sub 250g. But dont say its the best drone in general, thats a blatant lie 😌
Have a nice day with your m3pro, I enjoy the air 3 🎉
@@benjaminsenf3767 It's not a question of money but rather practicality! 2, 4 or 6 cameras do not matter much since most people watch the content on their phones. Omnidirectional collision sensors do not matter either because when you fly up there, you are not gonna hit anything. Getting the drone license is not a cheap endeavor either, let alone all the time that you need to invest in... Also, DJI mini 3 pro is less visible and quieter than Air 3, which is very important because it is less likely that people will even notice the drone is flying, hence, you are less likely to annoy people if you happen to fly over a crowded place. I am just making the point that everything considered, DJI Mini 3 is a better deal, that's all.
Ah, thanks this is good to know that it´s quieter than the Air2S.
I crashed my mini 2. Also own mavic 3 which is awesome and does it all. Was gona pull the trigger on the mini 3 but with the air 3 new RC and increase transmission range i will wait for an upgraded mini 4.
I came here to check on pros and cons seeing if I should upgrade to a mini 4 pro or air 3
Biggest thing to me - I use it for travel - so I’m hoping most countries are okay with the 250g. Size. And safely flying over people/monuments when allowed.
The omnidirectional tracking on the mini pro4 is what’s going to sell me. I crashed the 3 on its second outing 😂
You have great content, "Thank You" I have both of these drones and love both. The Air 3 has great power and speed when needed and the flight time and range are terrific. These two made my 9th and 10th DJI drone of my fleet. I agree though, The Mini 3 Pro gives you freedom that others don't. (My Favorite) Keep up the great work. Hoping the RC 2 will become available for my Air 2S and Mini 3 & mini 3 Pro...
Hi there. Is there a big difference of the vertical shooting mode of the mini 3 pro compare to the new air 3? Which do you prefer or better for vertical shooting between the two? Thanks.
Definitely upgrade love my Air 3.
I've been flying the Mini 3 Pro for three months. The Air 3 looks like a nice machine, but it doesn't offer significantly more than the Mini 3 Pro. Also, I wouldn't want to lose the quick-flip to vertical format.
Vertical Shooting The Best Clip
I agree, but just recently, someone release a rumor and picture of DJI Mini 4 Pro. Basing from the picture, it would still have the ability to quick-flip to vetical and from the looks of it, Obstacle avoidance will be like on the Air 3, hopefully, compensating on the lack of side obstacle avoidance
Great comparison - more than happy to stick with the Mini 3 Pro
I'm really looking forward to mini 4 pro
I bet it'll have one of the same UPgraded 1/1.3 sensors as the Air 3 has, O4 and omni avoidance
Not for me - 250g FTW in terms of ease of flying in most countries. The Air is plainly better, but I'm not someone who wants to spend time doing licences and registering etc. for every country I visit.
Was going to buy the m3pro in June but had an accident and now this came out . One reason the buy the m3pro is when I’m hiking but that is not often lol . Will have to double check the laws in Sweden before I decide but will prob be air 3. Just wish it had a 1 inch sensor instead of two cameras cause I take primarily photos
this is an excellent comparison review. I am considering the Air 3 really just for the telephoto... still on the fence tho!
Air 3 is super nice, but for my needs Mini Air 3 Pro/RC controller is where its at 💯
Air 3 comes out, me buying the mini3 pro (drone only) right this moment😂 more adventures to share with its big bro mavic 3 pro/rc pro..all i can say is the mini 3 pro is damn silent and small i can fly it anywhere not worried about regulations i love this small drone👍
Thank you for making great reviews!
Well, I _was_ completely satisfied with my Mini 3 Pro before watching this… 😄
But seriously, a very interesting comparison, and it's given me some stuff to think about. (I didn't know about the increased vertical speed of the Air 3, that's pretty tempting!)
Very helpfull comparison, still I am up for mini 3 pro cause its super light and yet still powerfull 🙌🚁
The big question is, does the Air support Goggles and the Motion 2 Controller? An Avata Pilot, this is massive for me, I intend to use the Mini for high altitude missions and the Avata for deep forest dives.
Mini 4 can give all these features n more
For all your reasons given here, Matthew, I like both of these drones. Well done.
Ordered the Air3 have the Mavic 3 pro and 2 Skydios
Nice! Now what does the Air 3 have that you want which your Mavic 3 Pro doesn't?
@@jonred233 nothing, he just collects drones 🤣
This channel is my best choice channel. I learn some new knowledge about drone❤
Happy to hear that! Thanks for watching!
Air 3 price -quality and features attracts for video shooting
just got my mini 3 pro like a month ago so I rather keep it instead of upgrading to a newer one like the air 3
but the question for you is which one do you like better the DJI mini 3 pro or the DJI air 3
Thank you for this vid! Now Im really convinced with the Air3 ..it's the budget that hinders me now vs the mini3 pro to proceed
What are the “problems” by taking a bigger drone like this Air 3 with you in an airplane?
Another excellent video Matthew 😁😁 I just got upgrade to mini 3 Pro today so think I will stick with it for a while lol 😊
Thank you!
Not really much of a comparison between the Air 3 and the mini 3 pro. Most people who have a mini 3 pro and are wanting to upgrade their drone will probably choose the mini 4 pro that is being released in a few days. Most mini drone pilots choose the mini series to avoid having to register the drone. Or be remote ID compliant. Even though the mini 3 pro already has Remote ID installed. Unlike my self I have the mini 2 mini 3 mini 3 pro and air 2 and air 2s soon i plan on buying the air 3 and the mini 4 pro and the mavic 3 classic. It’s not about upgrading as it is having multiple drones for different types of flying. And by having multiple drones you can fly more without wearing one out quickly.
Does the 48mp mode still suffer from the same chromatic aberrations and colour shifts as much as the mini 3 Pro? It'd be interesting to see seeing as they both use the same omnivision ov48c sensor.
😅I bought the dji mini 3 pro recently, when do you stop being anxious about flying your drone ?
The real issue is which one do I get considering I have a mini 2 currently and plan to keep that one as well.....jmmm
Mini 3 Pro all day 🙌🏾
IF....I only have the min 3 pro...then...I'll still buy the air 3.....it will come handy when it gets more windy days as in where I am now (windy areas).......
Awesome video , I ordered my AIR3 yesterday I can’t wait to get it and fly !
Thank you - enjoy your new Air3!
Thank you for making great reviews! Have them both Mini 3 Pro and Air 3. I only wonder how to grab Screenrecording from SD card. And if it is (like it should be) possible to record audio on the controller (like with the RM330 - USB-C) And, then I hope there will be some kind of update that makes it possible to KEEP recording while switching camera/lenses. Besides that - O4 is Great! And the upgraded BSI/stacked sensors are too!!
Another fab vid 👍🏼
Would love to see an Air 3 vs Mavic 3 Classic comparison.
Thank you 🙏
How about this one: ruclips.net/video/UqzTbltGnpc/видео.html 🙂 I was really surprised how good the Air 3 (with upgraded sensors) keeps up!
I'm really struck between these two drones, since we still have a small but growing channel (The Family Pacs) so we're looking for something small and simple as the mini 3 pro but advanced as the air 3
There will always be more drones coming out. Mini 4 then mini 4pro eventually
Thank you for your really useful and helpful videos. I've learned so much and this was a really useful informative video for me.
Me after spending around 1 grand to buy the Mini 3 pro: How about not spending 1,500 dollars for another drone. (Yes it does cost that with the RC 2 and Fly More)
Mini 3 pro is just fine. Fly the props off until it's good and worn and then buy what ever next best thing is out there when the time comes. This is what they want for us to keep buying buying...
You don’t get it for free, like he does
Why not have both? They are 2 different drones in 2 different weight classes with very different cameras.
@@kaimultivideo4956 I am not made of money
@@kaimultivideo4956Because the controllers are incompatible for a start. Lack of backward compatibility is such a waste. Wouldn’t be such a problem if the RC2 worked with the Mini 3 Pro
great video, nice to see lovely Northern Irish scenery, shot of Mussenden Temple or Ballintoy was very impressive. Have you ever sent your drone to Skerries? I had a plan to do it but I'm not sure if that's a good idea.
Or … own both of them and use them on different projects.
Good, well made vid.
Great video Matt, thank you very much for such an informative analysis.
So I have been playing around with my air 3 and having a blast. However, I have been wondering on my settings for different modes in gain and tuning etc. I replicated the settings from my mini 3 pro which I got from your settings video on that drone. Do you plan on doing a optimal settings video for the air 3 or is it pretty consistent to run similar settings to the mini 3 pro? Thanks so much for all your content again. You are simply amazing.
How do you know if the drones do not have coding that can be overrided by someone else?
Hi. Thanks for the video. I like the idea of having FPV with the M3P. Am I right that you can’t use FPV with the Air 3?
For someone that wants to buy his first drone which one of those 2 would be the best value for money? do they have big difference regarding wind resistance? and now with the mini 4 pro coming would that make a better choice comparing to air 3? my god so many options...
I've been flying the Mini 3 Pro for about a year, and while it's a great experience, I've discovered that, perhaps as a result of its 250g weight, the body is cheaply built. I was shocked when I lost it a few days ago because I didn't bump it into anything; instead, it went off in midair, freezing my remote control screen, and then I saw it fall from the sky. If you are experiencing this issue, could you please clarify why it turned off?
just subd,,,just got the air 3 gave up on the mini 3 pro
Very well explained. Appreciate the information!3
Thank you for this material
Nice video..I will be waiting for a DJI Air 3 S coming next year hopefully . :))) The image quality is not good enough to upgrade from the DJI Air 2 S .
Great Video and Information thank you will the new controller work for other Drones like the Mini 3 Pro and other DJI Drones????? watching from New Brunswick Canada🙂
I had the mini 3 pro
It seemed to be a mini 2 with a fancy camera and litchi app
ummm... you sure you are not confusing the mini an the mini 2? because they are basically the same drone, with an improved camera. The mini 3 Pro is a complete redesign with an awesome gimbal that can pan up(not seen on any other drone besides commercial film drones) It has the ability to rotate the camera, which is unique. It has sensors for follow me and obstacle avoidance which is brand new for a mini series.
In comparing the Mini 3 Pro's vertical 4K video to the Mavic Air 3's vertical 2.7K, is the difference noticeable when compressed to be seen in 1080p? The lack of true vertical video is the only reason I haven't bought the Air 3 yet!
Nice 2 drones
One of the easiest decisions in my life: in my case switching to AIR 3 wouldn't really be an upgrade.
Surly VLOS over rules the 360 tracking
Mini3P with GPS tracking would be great, but eats into the higher class devices
I’ve already damaged my DJI mini 3 pro twice. It’s frustrating how easily the arm breaks and I have to send it in for service.
proud of my dji mavic pro 😉😉
Absolutely upgrade!
Heyyy Hey Heyy!!! Thanks sooo much for your content and opinions!!! As one of your Subs, I've learned soooo many tips and tricks from you that I've used with my Mini 3 Pro and making content .. I appreciate YOU! Quick question: Can you make a comparison video of Both Drones "low light/night footage *pics & videos*"? (if applicable in your country) I'm considering grabbing an Air 3 in addition to my M3P, and to hopefully get better low light/night footage with the better camera... Thanks again and #Salute Your RUclips Friend - Dj Skillz from Philly, PA USA
Air 3 is class C1 so also category A1
the dji air 3 is the best || look at battrey look at new rc 20km go ||| thank you
One thing that I have not seen covered by anybody: when shooting 360 panoramas, does the Air 3 camera point upwards enough so that also the zenith is covered? Or do you need to fill the zenith in post?
I would just like waypoints to be added to M3P
Im about to have my 1st drone, will you suggest mini 3 pro or air 3 sir?
as a beginner mini3 pro
@@benaven1786 technically as a beginner the air 3 is better, omni obstacle avoidance
Hi does the DJI RC have a better/ brighter screen than your average phone screen.
Please post a link to the A2 CofC Theory Exam?
Thanks sir for sharing this video
13:54 My air 2s is a beast in the wind so this 3 must be great
Tried mine a couple of days ago in 25mph wind and it wasn't bothred, still kept my Air 2s for the inch sensor as ain't made up my mind about which video is better in daylight and it has that 5.4k which is good if you go slow in that 30fps it maxes out at and works with RC Pro but it has no C1 if you want to use it in EU.
Thank you so much. :)
You're welcome! Thanks for watching!
Which is better dji mini3pro or dji air2s?
Sold my Mini 3 Pro. I was dissatisfied with the inadequate waypoint capabilities, and range. Also, although I'm not particularly obsessed with photography, I've noticed the Air 3's quality is slightly superior to my older, two-camera Mavic 3 -- Other than the ~20k inspire drones, Air 3 is the best drone on the market.
nope, mavic 3 pro beats it!
Hey waiting for you to make video on DJI simulator on PC
Hi good video thanks. No one has been able to confirm if the air 3 can be used FPV…just curious. If any one knows be good to hear. Thanks.
no it can't
Im hoping video waypoint on mini 3 pro please DJI
Install it to mini 3Pro 16:17
I like it too much❤❤❤❤❤
Will be the same problem with Mini 3 Pro...
Max range: 400m
Hi Matthew, I've had a Mini 2se flymore kit for a while and have just upgraded to the Mini3 Pro + fly more kit. I love the new controller and the drone is one heck of an upgrade but it keeps dropping the camera view and is asking me to bind goggles to the drone!? I don't use goggles and have already bound the drone to the RC controller. Any ideas please as I don't really want it to keep doing that.
Will the dji mini 3 pro controller work for the air 3 also? Im sorry i didnt find that section clear enough...
Hi there,
Great informative video. I am in the market for a drone, and am struggling between these two drones. I am a wildlife photographer, and am travelling a bit. It can be extreme environments, where conditions are variable. the footage will be used in a combination of place, social, in blogs and on the website as tour content.. I like the portability of the M3P and lesser restrictions, however Air 3 seem more robust and offers a lot more feature and not a huge price increase. I really don't want to buy both as my first venture into the world of drones. Any advice would be appreciated. Keep up the great work. Best Adam
wildlife? then 70mm tele...is a must.
@@phix1742 i'm on the fence about using a drone to capture actual animals due to disturbance but never say never for larger animals. It will be used more for the scene, the environmental shots where I'm staying so maybe more promotional. The air 3 looks like its ticketing most of the boxes
Thanks for the reply 👍
M3P is good enough just buy editing software save money all your doing is spending more money for restoration
Weißt du schon ob die Air 3 mit dem RC Pro Controller kompatibel sein wird?
I currently have no drone. Looking to get one. Being in this situation, new Air 3 or Mini 3 Pro?
this video should've answered that question
wait can I use the new antenna powered screen controller with a mini 3 pro?
no
Hi Matthew, thanks for the informative video. I am not considering buying the Air 3 because of the amount of restrictions and paperwork needed and the fact that I would not be able to fly it in as many places. Quick question, is the Mini 3 Pro compatible with the DJI RC-N2 or the DJI RC2 even though it is OCUSYNC 4 instead of 3? Thanks
not true with C1label below 900g you can fly in A1 like with C0- not much more restrictions compared to C0
no it's not compatible with those remotes... at least not yet
Matthew, on a few accounts your information is not 100% correct. First of is the dimensions, you compared the two with and without props mounted. For mini 3 pro it would be 171×245×62 mm, a lot smaller. Secondly the air 3 has a C1 label making it possible to fly in A1 class with necessary A1/A3 free online course. This makes a big difference where you can fly. Thanks for the good review
7:05 there’s no comparison.. mini 3 Pro has better image quality all day!
