Interestingly, later in 19th century Russia special balls where aristocrats danced in the same hall with servants did existed. Aristocrats dressed up their servants in their own clothes and jewelry, went to the ball, cheered them up and rooted for them. Yeah, but it's really good, and they do start the episodes with "an almost completely untrue story" or something similar so I think it can be forgiven
it literally says in the intro credits its an OCCASIONALLY true story and you're complaining that its not accurate?
Well do you like the show? And do you know how to read as it states it's only occasionally accurate 😆 come on, just enjoy the show and move on.
At least they aren't trying to pass it off as a "docudrama"
Catherine The Great, one of 2 monarchs in Russian history to have that title, and even then she was a foreigner from Prussia
"I look like a crazy person."
"You look like one of us."
"Didn't I just say that?"
Perhaps in your dreams😂😂
It was a beat answer i ever heard
I love this. If I was well to do back then I would have treated those in my house like family to. Because after all we live together and take care of one another.
she mocked her slave, the same way trained animals are mocked in the circus - they dress them in bright clothes for laughs
The way m'lady said ,"Oh perhaps in your dreams" 😂
Lady Anesthesia for the Win ❤
“Nothings just a jape”😂🤣😂✨
"Perhaps in your dreams" 😂
"have we met before?"
"yeah, in ur dreams"
*new quip unlocked*
*_Nice to see they included the lil syphilis patches lol im spacing on the name..?_* ("Markle patch" was it?? _Pretty sure it starts with an M?)_
_Anyway!.. _*_ive never Actually seen any period piece include them like this!!??_*
_Excellent historical accuracy!!_
🤔🤦🏼😆😁👍🏻🤷🏼💙👏🏻
#yigidy!🤙🏻
Is that the little heart patches?? I’ve never heard anything about that before it’s quite interesting thanks for the knowledge
Tell me a little more about this please. Thanks

They’re not always meant to cover up syphilis. The trend started with the French in the late 16th century. It was first used to imitate the Greek goddess Aphrodite later Roman Venus who had a beauty mark.
Face patches had been used since antiquity and had recently gained popularity with the emulation of ancient Roman culture. It is unlikely to have been used to cover syphilis sores since syphilis had only then been introduced to Europe in the 15th century by the Spanish bringing syphilis back from the americas after consummating with natives.
And by then face patches had already been picking up amongst the French aristocracy. By the 16th century the French were replacing the Spanish as the cultural capital of Europe with waning Spanish power and influence.

Catherine really is a good person I love her
Shes serving
ShEs MaKiNg OuT wItH tHe DoCtOr
Gets dark when you know that she was stabbed and killed by one of the noble ladies for the “jape”
What movie is it?
The old lady got her Cinderella moment! 👍 😊
Literally got Shakey killed because of her selfishness. 😢
True
I just want to take a second to shout out first responders. My grandfather was quite overweight and had dementia. He fell often and we couldn’t get him up by ourselves. Every single time we called emergency services the people that showed up were wonderful - compassionate, professional, competent. They truly are heroes.
It would be great if we didn’t put the subtitles RIGHT OVER THEIR FACES
"PERHAPS IN YOUR DREAMS"
WHAT A LEGENT
Wholesome
Ok but the " i love it " was so sweet
They end up finding out and killing the old woman.
I love shakey, she deserves the world
SPOILERS:
so the old lady actually had her throat slit in the end of the episode because the rich people didn’t like the fact she’d fooled and lied to them about her being a maid rather than a Lady. Literally cried so hard because she was such a lovely lady but it really showed how cruel and cold the rich really were years ago.
That's Savage! 😵😵😵
"Just a jape"
The rich are still cruel and cold. How do you think they maintain their wealth?
What’s the name of the series/ movie?
@@khyatinanda310 it's a series called The Great it's on Hulu w/subscription, Prime or RUclips you gotta pay
Dr Smirnov??? 😂😂
I have a woman at my job that literally cannot walk fast has the smallest steps and she’s about 70 she’s always late back from breaks and also the last one to the break room and the job gives her no exceptions
I keep realizing that Elle Fanning is freaking only 25 years old!!! Was even younger when she did this role! She is sooooo talented at such a young age! ❤️🥲
What is this movie called, please?
"The Great"
@@GizmoGlue thank you so much
In case anyone wants the title (it took me forever to find it) This is called "The Great" and it's a telly series that ran 2020 - 2023
Clearly it was fun, she admitted stealing the eye patch and they ignored it😂😂😂😂
Anastasia is LOVELY 😅😂❤❤❤!!!
Hi
She so pretty ngl
People saying they think this is "wholesome" are missing the fact that this is essentially just a very cruel prank. She didn't do it out of the goodness in her heart. Also, the old lady got stabbed after it was revealed who she really is.
What do you mean? How do you know she was doing it in a mean spirited way? Just curious, I've never seen the show
I really love her maid bestie(the noble turned commoner). All their scenes together is just the right vibe.
I feel bad 😢
I love the empress, she's so nice.
Sidenote: "jape" means a joke
That's how Carnaval was created here. One social/gender messy party where everyone could be anything. 🇧🇷
Is that Sasha Dhawan??
"What makes us noble than them"? , that's an excellent question.... ❤
This show is actually really good. I was addicted
THE OLD LADY IS SO CUUTTEEE🥺
"Perhaps in your dreams" ayoooo 😂😂😂
Catherine has such a great character🙌💃
This was a good show. Hilarious. Its called "The Great" if anybody wants to know. Its a bit raunchy, so not kid friendly, but hilarious.
The Queen is both funny and pure hearted she has the same humor as us 😂😂😂😂
The way she laugh while watching the old people making out 😂😂😂
Honestly kind of sweet that she did that
"Oh ,perhaps in your dreams" Anastasia is savage as af.
Shes so pretty
