yeah, it was actually a good idea. Alchohol will burn faster this way, and it's burning temerature is low enough - it will not set most things on fire.
When she poured out the alcohol i died a little inside.
Assuming you're referring to the girl who lights a One Dollar bill on fire: She didn't though, at least not until the situation had escalated to a point where it, even with hindsight, is difficult to determine what would have been the best move - The heat from the flames had already melted the wall of the thin plastic container, allowing the mixture to leak out, thus removing the option of extinguishing the fire through suffocation!

It was a plastic container. She was buggered the moment she lit the bill.
No she Overfillled the Burning Container, and it leaked outside, setting Fire to the Tablecloth, a really dumb move.
Because the Container was Plastic, it was so hot it started melting, so the Only choice she got left was to Spill the Alcohol, which in Theory would have done nothing, because the Tablecloth was already burning.
But because the Container was Overfilled, it probably leaked off of the Table...
In conclusion, she was Doomed from the Start

Best option is to just close the lid or cover the container. That will put out the fire.

For those of you wondering how to turn off that alcohol. Choke it from oxygen. You need to put a plate, or something above container (a lid of some kind) to remove all the oxygen and extinguish the flame.
