FYI-all B8s have that reset button; its used for resetting MPG, etc. Also, it doesn't look like you have Navi/full MMI, so all B8s with full MMI Do have ambient lighting. You have to access "green menu" to make it adjustable. I have 2009 A4 prestige and I have enabled many vag- mods. Good NewB video tho!!

All B8’s and B8.5 are capable of background lighting even your basic symphony system. This is an option from the factory on Rest Of the World (ROW) cars. It was only omitted to North American vehicles.
As much as I hate your RUclips channel I do have to give you credit for knowing how to do all the stuff and putting as much time and research into figuring out these neat little tricks and configurations you can do on your Cars, hopefully maybe you can change your attitude on responding to things and even grow with the channel you're really talented and you know what you're doing most of the time. learn to break down your pomposity and you'll grow like a flower. While my old videos, from when I was a teenager, were more immature, more ego and more nonsense; my videos today are more professional. I mean we all had that stage in our young adulthood... Can't judge someone or something based on the past because the present may show actually the opposite. Maybe even give my recently uploaded content a shot worth at looking. Change doesn't haven in months, it can happen over time if done correctly. I still have/had personality flaws, I didn't know anything about cars, yet I had to start somewhere and work my way up. Some may not like me, my content, my work, my methods or my ideas. Oh well I guess it's not suited for them. If someone has nothing good to say aka negative supposed-to-be-insulting messages towards me, why bother. In my opinion, this feature has not worked for me. So I would assume this would be functioning for model with a Prestige Package and not a Premium package
Could put different color bulbs and have neon floor. What might work too get colored sticky notes, put colored paper over light, may change color. I seen this somewhere.
Hey Motorhead, this video is very cool... can you show how to enable using the coding with OBDEleven? The reason is that I do have the lights, my MMI shiws the option, byt it is always dark, meaning that I cannot select the light dimmer, it will just jump to the next option. This happens whether the car is off, on at accessories or with the engine running... in other words... never... so I guess I have to do some coding to fully enable it? My car have an MMI 2G with OEM navigation and rearview camera so Im sure that it should be possible to enable the light feature... please help!

When it's grayed out it usually means, the car does not have the correct module/equipment/feature installed. I'd be careful with how you use it, because for example maybe the car does not have headlight washers equipped & you enabled them, well maybe because of that it may have locked you out until it's fixed. I'd suggest reverting the MMI Menu options in Radio module code to your factory settings & try the process again. Because troubleshooting this will be very difficult, unless you know how to work well with trial and error. I know this because I have installed S4 sport seats in my A4 but I never connected the heated & cooled seats wires under my seat and I still enabled the Seats Comfort settings in the MMI screen & it's grayed out because the module or the seat wire is not installed on the shell of my A4 and once I install it, it won't be grayed out anymore.

@@MotorHeadTech it sounds more like it has to do with the package rather than the model generation. Mine is a 2009 S-Line Prestige B8. So it’s likely an option that comes with a package.

It's because your car doesnt have the module installed thus it's greyed out if you had the option installed on the car it would show up. I believe that option is apart of the memory seats.

I'm not fully understanding your situation. Has that feature not been working before or after the coding change? Because your 1st comment doesn't say if it was enabled before coding the module unlike your 2nd comment where it"s written as "lit". Did you take note of your original codes before changing it? It's good to have a copy of it, I'm not sure if I have me mentioned it in the video or not, but it's a given to notate any values as a backup before changing them.
It really all depends on what you want & are looking for. If you want a more of a performance Audi get an S4, if you like the standard comfort & luxury get the b8 2009 to 2012 or b8.5 2013 to 2016. If you want a little more power from an a4 but not get an s4, get the 2017 b9 a4. My suggestion is to stay away from the fwd cvt audi a4's as there are several known issues with those cars in particular, especially after 100,000 miles, some parts fail & need to be replaced & then only after that the car drives just fine again. If you want an A4, please just get the quattro, they are more reliable & fun, especially the 2014 to 2016 where audi has fixed alot of the issues found in the 2009 to 2013 models.
I love my 2013 Audi A4, despite some of its drawbacks. Its a funny love, hate relationship, but overall the more modern A4's have improved alot if your not looking to spend alot, but if you want to spend alittle more money consider buying a 2014 to 2017 A4. If you have any more questions, feel free to message me again. I'll also explain everything i have said in further detail in a future youtube video too

In the B8.5 models it's a standard feature. For the B8 models that are the base package with the red only instrument cluster, you would need to enable that feature with the same diagnostic tool I have VCDS Vagcom

could not get this to work , would have been nice if you showed how to enable it . I tried on green screen on my 14 8.5 and the option ofr interior light was greyed out. went to interior lights and enabled, then set menu to 5. odd thing is i do have interior lights.

ok got it .. you need a more elaborate process for 8.5 3G facelift car . 09 - central elect, 07-coding, Long code Helper , Byte 16, bit 6 - Interior/ Ambience Lighting Adaptation active. Hidden Menu - carbusassignment - interior light to Can Komfort1/9 Then the interior light and car menu stuff !!! Golden !! i now have it. The above along with video instructions will get you there.
Late as hell but I have a 2010 Audi A4 2.0 Quattro AWD and while theres bluetooth to connect to, I am able to answer calls, but cannot put on music via bluetooth any one know why?😭😭
You have the base package unfortunately, the base package only allows bluetooth calls as stated in the manual. If you want to add bluetooth music you can buy a MMI bluetooth adapter for under $90 like Tune2Air, BoVee or Viseeo

Elaine Dahl its impossible to add the hidden mmi secret menu options on the mmi 2g high which is what both basic packages of the b8 & b8.5 audi have, i did activate the digital speed seeing it though the mmi lol

Hey I just got a 2014 audi s5. Do you know why my rotary knob for the mmi is located on the front dash underneath the cd player when all other s5 systems ive seen are located on the bottom next to the shifter?

Vitesh Rampaul when you enable all mmi hidden menu functions like battery ambience lighting and connivence windows, it will allow that fiction of interior lighting aka ambience lighting to show up

Since you have an older vehicle, it may not have been equipped with bluetooth music streaming, the only bluetooth package that comes in the older A4's is the bluetooth phone call's. If you want the bluetooth music streaming, you will either need a radio MMI adapter or simply just upgrade your radio to a bluetooth compatible one.
The best advice I can give to anyone that own one of these cars they are a sweet ride when everything is working. But outside of that they are extremely unreliable and shop Bill's for repairs would make you wish you never purchased it to begin with also another fun fact they all almost depreciate faster then you can pay on them. This is coming from someone who not only owned a few but work for Audi as well.
Even if maintained. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. The last one me and my wifed owned. Super Great car when it was running. But plagued with problems. First it was little stuff, Driver side heated seat stopped working, then problems with couldn't check the oil because it was digital and didn't have a dipstick it had sensors you would check it through the Nav Screen. Well that worked half the time. But my wife was never ever hard on driving the car. She drove like a 80yr old woman. Lol Still does. But power steering pump failed. I guess you can not turn the wheel till the stopping point because it will cause the powersteering pump seals to fail. Not a cheap fix. I think shortly after that I had to get a Alternator that was about same mileage you have right now. But that can be expected. Once again not a cheap fix. After that had to replace rear main seal in the motor. Then after that the turbo had issues blowing oil past it. Got all that stuff fixed from Audi. Not two months later the timing failed while my wife was driving it to work. The Audi Dealer told me that it was not uncommon for that issue. The car never ever missed a maintenance check and was serviced and oil changed on a regular basis. But the timing should have never failed. After that timing failure it bent all the valves in the engine, cam was toasted, Scared cylinder one. But had to have the whole motor rebuilt bottom to top at that point A car I had originally paid a little over 22 thousand bought the extended warranty and put an additional powertrain coverage on the car. That was like 6800 I believe. All in all I had put over 30 grand in that car and depreciates faster then you can throw money at it. You can look that up to. But you could not pay me to buy another one of those. I lost so much money on that car and that thing looked brand spanking new. Garage kept and you could possibly not take any better care of it then what me and my wife did. We did everything right as far as up keep. I owned 3 of them total over the years. They can be amazing cars when everything runs right. Great in the snow. Handles like a touring car. But you mise well consider that car a sinking ship. Because you are just at the start of what real problems are to come. And I know no one wants to buy a car and spend a fortune to keep it on the road. Just really know what your getting into. You wont hear the Audi guys talking about all the bad shit that comes with them. Just the few good things. I really do wish you the best of Luck.
@@bigr3895 dude that's just bad luck... Had a half dozen and now a 15 S5 with APR stage 2+ and dsg tune... Not much can beat it up to 100mph and sport diff is amazing in corners. Also have a 335d tuned with 700ft lb torque... go to UNI cars and have their own set of problems but they have redundant systems for damn near everything built into them... Also have a 67 restomod Camaro set up with the LS3 motor tranny combo... No comparison even with all the modern suspension upgrades on that Camaro nothingcompares. Of course there's issues I mean they're expensive finely-tuned machines so shits going to happen... But I've had a B5 S4 stage 3 plus there was 500 plus horsepower for 10 years.... German cars are not cheap cars
professional motion this video was intended for the old mmi Audi version of 2g & 2g high. You most likely have the mmi 3g, so in that case you may have to enter the menu through the mmi virtual screen options via “settings” , “mmi settings”, “car” & or “setup” or if you have any of those buttons physically installed. Correct me if I’m wrong, but that what I believe you can find what your looking for as, I don’t have much experience in the mmi 3g systems as in your s5, just yet. Hopefully that helped

The car is in park with the e brake on how many times do I have to say this. It is impossible for a modern luxury car to put it's self in neutral or drive

B8.5 is essentially the facelift of a B8, meaning headlights, front amd rear ends, newer interior modules etc. B8.5 is basically all newer looks, better modules compared to a B8. You should see my 2013 A4 with a 2018 A4 engine with a 2014 S4 DSG transmisson video, it's just to open your eyes to a new point of view

My 2012 A4 came with the footwell lights. I was able to add the background lighting setting on MMI. I have the premium trim.

My 2011 A5 B8 has both the reset to stop the door beeping and the foot well lighting, may be a package/options feature.

I enabled background lighting on my 2009 A4 without MMi and I have it enabled on my 2013 allroad. This is an option that was on the ROW B8 and B8.5.

The one with the lights is optional. My b8.5 doesn't have the interior lights pack so that area together with the doors are not illuminated.

Thinking if you have an Audi, you might not want be THAT cheap and use Sticky Notes on your lights. Pony up for some actual bulbs

Yes it is, as my Audi year is a 2013, but if you do not have floor feet lighting then that small feature may not work.

Hello planning on getting a 2012-2013 A4. How has it treated you and would you recommend buying it?
It really all depends on what you want & are looking for. If you want a more of a performance Audi get an S4, if you like the standard comfort & luxury get the b8 2009 to 2012 or b8.5 2013 to 2016. If you want a little more power from an a4 but not get an s4, get the 2017 b9 a4. My suggestion is to stay away from the fwd cvt audi a4's as there are several known issues with those cars in particular, especially after 100,000 miles, some parts fail & need to be replaced & then only after that the car drives just fine again. If you want an A4, please just get the quattro, they are more reliable & fun, especially the 2014 to 2016 where audi has fixed alot of the issues found in the 2009 to 2013 models.
I love my 2013 Audi A4, despite some of its drawbacks. Its a funny love, hate relationship, but overall the more modern A4's have improved alot if your not looking to spend alot, but if you want to spend alittle more money consider buying a 2014 to 2017 A4. It is probally located in the MENU button & on the screen it may be under MMI Car settings

That's great, not everyone has the same package as you, so this video or parts of this video is directed to those who don't know or have these options.
You said this won't work with the 2012 A4? Why is that. I know my car has the lights but why wouldn't I be able to adjust them?
My dad had a 2012 A4 & i've repeated the same steps for his car & it did not work. Maybe it could have been an error of mine. But you are free to try it & let me know👍🏾
B8 does have button to turn off buzzer.
The Premium package may not, but the Premuim Plus or Prestiege packages does come with the button I think.
HI, please can you help me locating Amp in y audi 2013 A4 B8 , as i cannot find any amp in trunk on driver side , or is there any amp installed. How can i connect extra speaker in the trunk as all the speakers are installed in the doors in my car.
umer khan ima do some research on where the oem amp is cause im gonna need to locate it too for a future proj & i will lyk, also i have tapped into my trunk subs & installed a regualr home theater system in my car (just to see if it would work) the video could give you some insight on how to install extra speakers. Hey man, how did you get your mph to pop up on your dashboard, I have a b8 a4.
In the B8.5 models it's a standard feature. For the B8 models that are the base package with the red only instrument cluster, you would need to enable that feature with the same diagnostic tool I have VCDS Vagcom

could not get this to work , would have been nice if you showed how to enable it . I tried on green screen on my 14 8.5 and the option ofr interior light was greyed out.
went to interior lights and enabled, then set menu to 5. odd thing is i do have interior lights.

Its usually just the bov or dv, but what i had installed was a k&n intake, gfb dv+, turbo muffler delete & a custom stage 2 tune & remap

Late as hell but I have a 2010 Audi A4 2.0 Quattro AWD and while theres bluetooth to connect to, I am able to answer calls, but cannot put on music via bluetooth any one know why?😭😭
You have the base package unfortunately, the base package only allows bluetooth calls as stated in the manual. If you want to add bluetooth music you can buy a MMI bluetooth adapter for under $90 like Tune2Air, BoVee or Viseeo

no worries its the same as b8.5 you can add them in Vagcom / mmi hidden menu
my favorite is adding digital speedo in the dis for the b8

You've got a larger issue if that beeping was draining your battery.

Hey I just got a 2014 audi s5. Do you know why my rotary knob for the mmi is located on the front dash underneath the cd player when all other s5 systems ive seen are located on the bottom next to the shifter?

Vitesh Rampaul when you enable all mmi hidden menu functions like battery ambience lighting and connivence windows, it will allow that fiction of interior lighting aka ambience lighting to show up

Vitesh Rampaul it’s not Necessarily A hidden menu, it’s just a hidden feature, if you read my description find the code to where I activated all the mmi hidden options and that code is what I used to get the interior light as well

Since you have an older vehicle, it may not have been equipped with bluetooth music streaming, the only bluetooth package that comes in the older A4's is the bluetooth phone call's. If you want the bluetooth music streaming, you will either need a radio MMI adapter or simply just upgrade your radio to a bluetooth compatible one.

The best advice I can give to anyone that own one of these cars they are a sweet ride when everything is working. But outside of that they are extremely unreliable and shop Bill's for repairs would make you wish you never purchased it to begin with also another fun fact they all almost depreciate faster then you can pay on them. This is coming from someone who not only owned a few but work for Audi as well.

I just brought one with 110,000 miles last week
Even if maintained. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. The last one me and my wifed owned. Super Great car when it was running. But plagued with problems. First it was little stuff, Driver side heated seat stopped working, then problems with couldn't check the oil because it was digital and didn't have a dipstick it had sensors you would check it through the Nav Screen. Well that worked half the time. But my wife was never ever hard on driving the car. She drove like a 80yr old woman. Lol Still does. But power steering pump failed. I guess you can not turn the wheel till the stopping point because it will cause the powersteering pump seals to fail. Not a cheap fix. I think shortly after that I had to get a Alternator that was about same mileage you have right now. But that can be expected. Once again not a cheap fix. After that had to replace rear main seal in the motor. Then after that the turbo had issues blowing oil past it. Got all that stuff fixed from Audi. Not two months later the timing failed while my wife was driving it to work. The Audi Dealer told me that it was not uncommon for that issue. The car never ever missed a maintenance check and was serviced and oil changed on a regular basis. But the timing should have never failed. After that timing failure it bent all the valves in the engine, cam was toasted, Scared cylinder one. But had to have the whole motor rebuilt bottom to top at that point A car I had originally paid a little over 22 thousand bought the extended warranty and put an additional powertrain coverage on the car. That was like 6800 I believe. All in all I had put over 30 grand in that car and depreciates faster then you can throw money at it. You can look that up to. But you could not pay me to buy another one of those. I lost so much money on that car and that thing looked brand spanking new. Garage kept and you could possibly not take any better care of it then what me and my wife did. We did everything right as far as up keep. I owned 3 of them total over the years. They can be amazing cars when everything runs right. Great in the snow. Handles like a touring car. But you mise well consider that car a sinking ship. Because you are just at the start of what real problems are to come. And I know no one wants to buy a car and spend a fortune to keep it on the road. Just really know what your getting into. You wont hear the Audi guys talking about all the bad shit that comes with them. Just the few good things. I really do wish you the best of Luck.

@@bigr3895 dude that's just bad luck... Had a half dozen and now a 15 S5 with APR stage 2+ and dsg tune... Not much can beat it up to 100mph and sport diff is amazing in corners. Also have a 335d tuned with 700ft lb torque... go to UNI cars and have their own set of problems but they have redundant systems for damn near everything built into them... Also have a 67 restomod Camaro set up with the LS3 motor tranny combo... No comparison even with all the modern suspension upgrades on that Camaro nothingcompares. Of course there's issues I mean they're expensive finely-tuned machines so shits going to happen... But I've had a B5 S4 stage 3 plus there was 500 plus horsepower for 10 years.... German cars are not cheap cars

professional motion this video was intended for the old mmi Audi version of 2g & 2g high. You most likely have the mmi 3g, so in that case you may have to enter the menu through the mmi virtual screen options via “settings” , “mmi settings”, “car” & or “setup” or if you have any of those buttons physically installed. Correct me if I’m wrong, but that what I believe you can find what your looking for as, I don’t have much experience in the mmi 3g systems as in your s5, just yet. Hopefully that helped
The MMI system sucks!! So counter intuitive and needlessly complicated. It a pain in the ass just to change a radio preset.

The car is in park with the e brake on how many times do I have to say this. It is impossible for a modern luxury car to put it's self in neutral or drive

this a b8 not b8.5
B8.5 is essentially the facelift of a B8, meaning headlights, front amd rear ends, newer interior modules etc. B8.5 is basically all newer looks, better modules compared to a B8. You should see my 2013 A4 with a 2018 A4 engine with a 2014 S4 DSG transmisson video, it's just to open your eyes to a new point of view
Trust me I know. I work for Audi and drive a 15 S4. The MMI format is different in a B8 and a B8.5 - solid tip on the stopping the open door beeps tho@@MotorHeadTech
