Just to think I was born a few years later. My beautiful late mother used to sing this song all the time while doing household chores until the Young and Restless came on. Every time I hear it I think of my mother and my great childhood.
I want to believe there is a connection because even Dionne knew her when she was a child and referred to her as "Auntie Sarah". They all were from East Orange New Jersey and got their hair done at the same salon
There was no comparison in their voices, Sarah, was far more accomplished vocally. She was also a pianist. Whitney mainly just had a good strong belting voice, but lacked the ability to modulate between her soft voice and her belting voice--it was either one or the other.

Just when I thought I’ve heard/seen every performance of hers of this song!
Oh my good lord! I've watched this video 4 or 5 times. And each time I'm floored by her voice. Just knocked over. Wow!
You are heaven sent!!! Sarah is my all time favorite singer! ❤❤❤
Mine Too! She had a voice like no other.
She is also my all-time favorite singer.
The GOAT
She's a miracle!
V O C A L BEAST 🔥
?
She's looking like Lauryn Hill 😍 In this sense
She was gorgeous in 1953 and her voice did rival Whitney's in my opinion 💕

LOL. Different planets. Whitney is a pop singer. You, oh forget it.
@@BlueBeeMCMLXI Actually, she was a gospel singer originally.

Whitney was not in the same league as the woman. Sarah Vaughan was phenomenal!
私も歌ったが、彼女の様に素敵に歌えない
